Go!Go! Curry! Newark

I had the Pork Katsu meal and it was easily one of the best meals I had in Newark and I live here. The owner is so nice, she sat down and even had a conversation with us.

I loved this place.
A great location next to the arena.

The tofu was excellent.
The curry itself was very unique, a delicious almost umami blend of spices.

The portions for the price are excellent.

Customer service was extremely polite and yet lightning fast.

I’d love to go back.

Pretty close to how it is in Japan maybe the amount of rice is lacking vs japan. I personally came to get a gyudon because not many places nearby does a good one, but ended up practically ordering the entire menu to to. Personally I would prefer a little bit more rice, but when I come here I usually make some rice at home before picking up my order so no biggie.

I was looking forward to trying this place and couldn't wait to dig in. When I arrived I was luckily able to find parking right across the street from the restaurant. When I walked in I liked the unique decor of the restaurant. I told the cashier why I was there and he started to prepare the Home Run Curry. I told him no eggs or pork and he told me the curry is pork based. At that point the owner said it was ok to get the vegetarian sauce instead. She was very kind.

When I got home I was ready to dig in. After the first few bites I wasn't sure if I liked it, but as I continued to eat I enjoyed it. The bowl was filled with a lot of food and it was so filling.

I got the chicken home run curry and I enjoyed every bite. It comes with your choice of chicken or pork cutlet, one tempura shrimp, one sausage, one boiled egg, cabbage, and rice. I got extra cabbage (which is free) and I appreciated the extra crunch it gave. I loved the variety in each bite because of all the different proteins.

A diamond in the rough. It was recommended by the Courtyard hotel staff. It was a good choice. The spice level is pre set. It was very nice to meet the owner Joy. She takes great pride in her restaurant and for good reason. A very nice and welcoming.

Staff are really nice, and the food is fantastic! Simple menu and delicious Japanese style curry dishes I go here for lunch all the time!

Super stoked there is a gogo curry in Newark. Def worth it, portions decent sized, curry delicious and the chicken katsu +gyoza was great. Love the various calpico drinks.

Very delicious! Easier to get to than NYC, Rice. Everything was perfect!

Good food, but a little bit on the pricey side. The pork was cooked perfectly; soft on the inside and very crispy exterior. If I could I would give this place a solid 4.5

The food was very good. The chicken katsu curry, and chicken gyoza was very good. This is a hidden gem for quick eats.

As an Asian Rutgers student, there are only a few authentic Asian restaurants to choose from in Newark, but Go!Go! Curry never fails to satiate my appetite for some delicious, umami Japanese curry. My go-to meal here is either the Chicken Katsu Curry Bowl or the Home Run Bowl, both of which taste amazing. I will definitely come back again and again! Thank you for the delicious food!

Joy is one of the nicest person I met at Go Go Curry, highly recommend this place in Newark. They should open a location in Jersey City. The food was amazing and she was super welcoming and friendly. Sorry about coming near closing time. Masarap, masarap, masarap and salamat!

Best Japanese curry in town! If you don’t know what to order, “home run” is always the best choice!

Absolutely delicious. Priced just right with just enough to hit the spot portion wise. I will come back over and over again for the tonkatsu curry!

I can promise everyone reading this that the food at this location is just as good, if not better, than that found in New York City, despite the fact that it is outside of the bustling areas of the city. The pace of life isn't as hectic as it would be in New York City, and I think that sometimes this results in better, more comfortable food.

After eating a smaller lunch during the day, I always suggest having a Grand Slam Curry for dinner. Even though it is suggested that this serves two people, there may be days when, like me, you can't stop after just one serving!

I also like this location over the ones in NYC since the staff, notably Joy, are really friendly people that treat you like royalty in addition to making your food correctly and recognizing your loyalty to the brand and location.

I’m happy Go!Go!Curry Newark is now open. Delicious and authentic Japanese style Katsu Curry the same as the food they serve in the stores in Tokyo Japan!

It was our first time to eat at Gogo Curry at Newark and I was impressed! First, the restaurant was spotless, decor was nice , music was good. We were able to get parking in front of restaurant. Next, service was great 👍 They were friendly and patient with me since I wasn’t familiar with the menu. Also the order was very quick. Most importantly, the food was delicious! I ordered the Home Run Curry. It’s a good sampling of sausage, chicken, and shrimp. I liked them all but my favorite was the sausage. Overall, great food , great experience and highly recommend. Will definitely go back next time I’m in the area!
