Tastey's Gail's Southern Style Soul Food

Tastey Gail’s has some incredible food. The wait staff was nice and accommodating. I’m forgetting what exactly I ordered, but me and my guest, someone who may as well be my grandmother, loved our meal.

I was shocked because Southern food doesn't taste as good in the Northeast in 2024 unless cooked at someone's home. However, for those whose families still cook Southern recipes, this will feel like Thanksgiving dinner quality or family reunions in the South. i want to thank the owners for one of the best soul food meals i have had at restaurant. and they do not use pork for seasoning in the greens for those of us that do not eat the swine lol. i had the candy yams that was a perfect 5, the mac was a solid 4.5 and the chicken again solid 4.5 most times you are getting 3s in the northeast so if you miss true southern food this is a must.

I was blown away. Truly impressed I wasn’t expecting that. Try the banana pudding! Best I’ve ever had. Great value for the money.

The Food and Customer Service was amazing. I am going to recommend this restaurant to everyone. I ordered on Grub hubb. After I received my food the owner called me personally to check and see how I liked the food. She was so sweet and professional. I will definitely order again. I had Oxtais, greens and cornbread stuffing. Everything was soooo good and I had a very large amount of food.

We ordered from Tastey's via DoorDash on 1/31/21 and it was great! The portions were very generous. The potato salad in particular was amazing but it was all very good. Would definitely recommend!

One of the best southern food I’ve had in North Jersey. Had the ox tail and it’s literally falling off the bone. The yams are seasoned to perfection. Highly recommend this place. Great job Gail !

Warm cute little cozy spot with big delicious plates of food. Taystey's is the Queen and the King of the homecooked meal.

We did a taste test several days ago, because we were hosting a party. The fish taste test went well.
We then decided to place a 30 piece pre-order to be picked up two days later.
We picked up the fish, brought it to the party and it was the first item devoured. The whitting were fabulous, Gail was very pleasant and warm too us, and we had a marvelous experience. We will definitely go back to this southern style restaurant.

I go there when I don't feel like cooking. They never disappoint. Kudos Pork chops are the best!!

Food is always fresh and delicious. Owner loves her customers. Oxtails, Mac n cheese, yams, collards w/cabbage are a favorite.

This is a nice little spot on the corner that if you blink you might miss it but when you find it and go in and order your food , you'll be glad you stopped there. The food is so good you'll want to slap yo momma lol just kidding 😃 but the food is fantastic and the service is awesome, very friendly and reasonably priced. I met Ms Gail and she is so nice, makes you feel like family when you're in there and she definitely put her foot in her cooking ( a southern saying meaning great cook )

Tasty and delicious breakfast. The scrambled eggs, beef bacon, homefries and biscuits cooked to perfection!

I had a passenger heading to this restaurant and she was speaking so highly of this place that I parked the car and walked in with her. BEST DECISION EVER. I ordered the whiting sandwich w/ fries and an additional side order of Mac and Cheese to go. For 13$ I have enough for lunch and dinner, my car smells amazing AND I'm enjoying the best whiting I've ever had. Note: I grew up across the street from a fish market and also cook so I know good fish! GO NOW AND thank me later.

Great food and service. We got the whiting, fried shrimp and oxtails. Everything was delicious. Will definitely go back for more. The only thing is it can be a bit of a wait, even when you call ahead.

Great food. Took me back to grandma's southern cooking. Nicely seasoned and you can tell that Gail takes her time cooking this food. That makes the difference in the taste and quality of Tastey's food. 5 star quality food and service....
