El Matador Mexican Restaurant

This place was absolutely beautiful if you're looking for a scenic restaurant. The food was cooked thoroughly, well seasoned, and lacking nothing. I tried a tamale for the first time, and I liked it. It's a great place to go with a group because they willingly split your bill by person, so there's no hackle at the end of dinner. They are worth 5 stars.

Best tacos I've had!! They were so good that I was thinking about them for days after🤣 Definitely going back here!! The atmosphere was nice and the service was friendly. Also, the horchata is the best I've ever had!

I haven't been here since pre-COVID; however, my partner has been stopping by and told me about their green chile enchiladas. We went there this past weekend, and they were as good as he said they were. We had shrimp (which was $2 more) and it came with beans and rice. The tortillas were thicker so perhaps they're homemade? I had horchata and got a free refill (thank you!) and we ordered dessert to go. The tres leche cake was very yummy although not as much as a fan of the flan. Look forward to visiting again!

I have been looking for a mexican place to eat on a regular basis, and I have found IT! The tacos here are amazing, tortillas are fresh and the filings are seasoned just right!
Definitely will come back, it's sad to see this place so empty for a Saturday night though. If you are looking for great Mexican food, you have to visit El Matador!
You will not regret it. Staff is friendly, they greet you with a smile and are really attentive.

Great place, although we wish the portions were a little bit more generous, it's overall a nice restaurant. Friendly service in English and Spanish, they have birria tacos which are hard to find, as well as pozole and chilaquiles. We'll come back.

This place is absolutely the best for authentic Mexican food. They create a sense of family and are super friendly! They deserve more stars but 5 is the max! It’s BYOB! what’s not to love ??

El Matador has really stepped up to the plate with their outdoor dining since COVID began. From the front it may look like they are closed but they have an awesome outdoor seating area under a large lit tent on a patio in the rear of the restaurant.

The entrance to that patio area is to the side of the building but does have a large sign to let you know it’s there. As always the food and the service was excellent, and reasonably priced to boot. A definite thing to note is the restaurant is BYOB so bring a drink and enjoy the delicious food and outdoor seating.

Loved the futbol game playing in the background, how homey it felt to eat there. Split birria tacos and tacos dorados with a date. Both were amazing, even dipping the tacos dorados into the birria consume. The horchata was okay. But the space was perfect for a cute calm date. Would definitely go back.

First time trying El Matador 2 and it was delicious! I had the small carnitas tacos for $1.50 each and the Sopa de res. Will definitely come back!

The best tacos I ever had and specially shrimp tacos. Everything was great and the service was amazing. I will definitely come back.

I had a milanesa chicken torta and it was good. My hubby had the Birria tacos and liked them too. Took some churros to go and they were yummy as well. I liked their great customer service and how tentative the waiter was if we needed anything else. We will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu

Bring some quarters for parallel parking in front of the restaurant. There is some really nice outdoor seating in the back of the restaurant. The street corn, quesadillas, and tacos were really good!

The best most creamiest guacamole. The mole is amazing. It just sits and simmers in your mouth. I have not had a bad dish here. The tres leches cake just tops it all off. Why can't Bloomfield be closer to me??

Just visited El Matador for the first time tonight. My wife and I loved being there because it reminded us so much of the Mexican places we used to go to when we lived in Houston. Love the decorations and the staff was really nice. The food was really good too. The tortillas were fresh. The three different salsas were all really good. They seasoned the meat really well. Really enjoyed this place and we’re going to be regulars.

Delicious! Love coming here for Taco Tuesday. The pulled pork tacos are my favorite. Can’t beat the value or quality!

I went here on the first weekend of summer and it was AMAZING!! The staff was incredibly nice and funny! The food was almost like Michelin star with bigger portions! Overall rating is Phenomenal!

Authentic Mexican in Bloomfield! Love this this place and it’s part of our regular restaurant rotation. Staff and owner are friendly. Portions are generous and most importantly, food is tasty!!!

I have been ordering from El Matador for some time now. Their food is delicious and very consistent in quality. Today for the super bowl, I ordered some nachos for delivery and thought they had changed their portion size as the order had significantly less nachos than usual. I called the restaurant just to inquire about changes in their portions. The young lady advised that they had not changed. Without hesitation, I was offered an additional small size of nachos and they delivered it in less than 30 minutes! This gesture shows the kind of customer service this restaurant offers. There's nothing like great food and great customer service from an establishment 5 minutes away from home!!! Thank you so much for your delicious food and your consistency in quality and customer service! Did I mention is also byob? It cant get any better than that! Highly recommend El Matador!
