Brookside Thai Restaurant

We found this cosy place on a Saturday @4:30pm. We loved it, the staff is very friendly and accommodating.
A very extensive menu the best part all dishes can be made for a vegan or vegetarian.

We started with appetizers Fried Tofu lightly deep fried served with delicious plum sauce & ground peanut on the side, & Curry Puff mixed ground potato & chicken blended with curry powder & Thai spices, this deliciousness is wrapped in a homemade light Puff pastry, served with a diced cucumber sauce on the side.

For Entrees, we had the:

Panang curry, panang curry in coconut milk, garnished with shredded kaffir lime leaves and Thai basils.
Chef’s Fav Pra Ram Ling Song, spicy curry peanut sauce on a bed of steam vegetable(carrots, cabbage, red peppers). Both entrees are served with Jasmin Rice

Authentic khao soi, haven’t had one this good since Chiang Mai. Amazing owner & service and cozy atmosphere.

I experience good customer service during my visit to Brookside Thai Restaurant. Curious about Vegan options (largely due to so many Vegetarian options), I find the menu full of Vegan/Veganizable options! I order the Pad Med Ma-Moung, Spring Rolls, and Chive Slices. Every bite of every portion of the meal is so good, so tasty! The appetizers are enough reason to visit the eatery; the Chive Slices are crunchy and sweet, tastier to me without the sauce; the Spring Rolls taste as equally good with or without the accompanying sauce largely due to the Black Pepper. The Pad Med Ma-Moung is good all around though the sauce heavily complements every ingredient. Even so, the overall meal is very filling, find no surprise if you have leftovers. The interior is nice, quaint, and the environment during my visit is very friendly.

Pleasing decor, delicious food and attentive service here. The menu is extensive, offering many choices for appetizers, soups, entrées and desserts. You can have them adjust your spice level, during preparation, if you do not like too much heat. Beautiful statues as well as wall art add to the ambiance. Plenty of seating and great for an intimate date night or a family meal.

Getting off the wrong bus in New Jersey tired after a long day of traveling, I stopped at Brookside Thai for a hot meal and a bit of rest. Maybe I’m being sentimental because I was looking for something to appreciate, but my experience at this place was incredible. Charlene was so welcoming and recommended to me the kaow soi, which I’d never tried before and which was delicious, and she even gave me free curry puffs to take home! This is a family-owned restaurant with great food and good people, and for that reason I can’t recommend it enough.

This place has great food, will accommodate dietary restrictions and good service. It is small so get there early or make a reservation.

Wow we heard about this place and their mango sticky rice. And we were wow! It spelled so fresh when out the bag. That was crazy. And my sis loves it. Also respect on the ppl that work there. Great job

I absolutely love the Pad Thai with chicken or shrimp. It's freshly made & the sauces that come with it are the perfect compliment in flavor. You can eat twice from one serving! The curry puffs are my favorite appetizer with their orange plum sauce. Keep up the great work with your delicious cuisine.

Excellent food, pleasant staff. Restaurant was busy so you know the food is good. Very reasonably priced. BYOB, quickly supplied us with an ice bucket and glasses. Food was ordered and delivered to the table faster than usual. Every one in our party enjoyed the meal with no complaints at all. Can't wait to go back.

Consistently good, have been ordering here forever and they are hands down still the best Thai for the money in town. NO ONE does Moo Yang better! Pad Thai is great, as is the Tom Kha Kai soup. Owners & staff are lovely too.

Amazing food! Went with a group and the service was amazing. The food came out in a timely manner and the quality was not diminished due to it. I suggest trying new non main stream dishes. Everyone in my group agreed that this is one of the best Thai resturants they have been to.

I came here with my brother, when we were looking for a quiet, Thai restaurant. Initially, we were told that it is highly recommended that we reserve a table, beforehand. However, since there weren't many people, the host allowed us to choose where we desired to sit. The experience was overall pleasant, but it was a tad bit expensive. I would recommend coming here with a group of no more than 4 friends. The food was delicious.

Savory dishes. Nice variety. Friendly accommodating staff. BYOB. Entrance and getting to the bathroom may cause challenges for handicap persons. Kitchen closes by 8:30 pm. On street parking. Also public parking behind the building.

Very flexible. They are cognizant of your allergies. This is my only Thai restaurant. They are the nicest people and their food is delicious. Been eating there for years.

Moved away from Bloomfield NJ 14 years ago. When we lived there Brookside Thai was one of our favorite restaurants. It was great to revisit again. I was very happy that the food and service was as good or better than my memories. We have decided that we will make the hour drive every few months to enjoy this wonderful restaurant. Do yourself a favor and try it!

Quality food and experience. Owner is a little odd but comes from pride of ownership. Neither my son or I wanted to order from the specials menu and when she asked if we had looked at it I just said we already knew what we wanted. No big deal and I had a nice conversation with hey about my trip to Thailand. I can see how she would seem intimidating to some.
