Holtermann's Bakery

Holtermann’s has been around for 150 years!! It’s an old time bakery with excellent bread and lots of other goodies! We purchased fresh Italian bread and made delicious crispy fried salami sandwiches. This was our second visit to Holtermann's and we were so excited when, this time, they had the Charlotte Russe! A popular dessert of the 1900's and Holtermann's still sells it.

I used to live on Staten Island and when we moved to NJ, we loved stopping here before going to my Nana’s to grab pastries. Everything is so fresh and delicious just like I remembered. The donuts are so light and fluffy, filled to perfection! The cinnamon buns are delicious (especially when you warm them in the microwave for a few seconds!) definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area! They have a ton of cakes, pastries and pies to choose from!

My birthday cake was absolutely divine!! vanilla cake with vanilla frosting and coconut !! Topped with the most exquisitely designed light purple flowers. Everything from Holtermann’s is delicious and made with total respect for tradition and excellence. Can’t wait for our holiday gingerbread houses!

Growing up in New Jersey, the Holtermann's products we could get were iconic and legendary. Visiting the bakery itself in Staten Island is going right to the source and opens up a whole new world of choices for extreme wonderfullness.

I grew up in Brooklyn, in the ‘60s. A favorite memory was a 10cent pastry, called a Charlotte Russe. I moved to Wisconsin in 1982, but have family in NYC. I looked on the web , and seems like Holtermann’s is the only bakery still making them.

I took two subways, a ferry, a bus, a train, and walked a mile to get to Holtermann’s. It was worth it. Tasted as good as I remembered.

The best bakery on the island. Been a customer for over 30 years. Highly recommend.

Holtermann's Bakery..really? This place sits in my childhood memories.. as a lifelong islander my grandfather took me here.. you can blindly grab anything and be happy.. stop in and see for yourself.. my goto is jelly doughnuts for me and my grandson

Had to visit, as I moved off Staten Island a few years back. Family run forever. Delicious baked goods and bread. The cookies are great! The donuts and muffins...well everything here is awesome. The staff is super friendly. I highly recommend if you're in the area, that you stop in for some treats!

Nice hidden Gem. This bakery has been in business for many years. Today I picked up a delicious fresh Blueberry Pie and cup cakes. I almost finished eating the whole pie that same night. IT WAS GOOOOD!

Love Holtermann'sBakery! All pastries are made fresh daily. My personal favorites are the apple flips, cinnamon sticks, crumb cake, cinnamon donut stick, and the lemon meringue pie! All are so delicious! Can never go wrong with Holtermann's!

Excellent baked goods cooked on premises. Multi grain bread is very good and the pies and cakes are amazing. My wife loves the carrot cake.

Brilliant I used to buy in the stores on the island for years, finally made it out to the bakery... Well worth it. Go grad dessert and treat yourself at this amazing bakery

An iconic bakery on Staten Island...generations of my family have marked special events with delicious sheet cakes and raspberry strips. Mmmmm. Wouldn't mind have a jelly doughnut now, either.

Great customer service. I come regularly when I can and they are just amazing people no matter the staff. They also serve great donuts!

Seriously one of the best bakeries I’ve ever been to. The cream donuts, the apple turnover, the cowboy cookies, the lemon flip, the CHARLOTTE RUSSE….it was all to die for. I couldn’t believe how good everything was. We went inside afterwards to tell them how good it was, as if they didn’t already know. I can’t wait to get back here.

Got a lemon sponge roll. Just like I remembered. Yummy.
