Tony's has been our go to for years now. The first time blew us away and every time since it has always been the best Italian we've ever had (in a city of Italian restaurants too).

The shrimp are huge, the entrees are made table side (the pasta seafood is amazing as well as the swordfish).

Don't skip dessert! They have the best cheesecake I've ever had. It's whipped.

Also you can tour the kitchen! It's the cleanest kitchen I've ever seen. My hubby works in the industry and he says it's definitely the cleanest he has seen in 20 years. Everything looks brand new.

Finally, I love how they change out your water for a fresh one at the end. It's a nice touch and I have never seen that elsewhere.

Definitely the best restaurant in St Louis. Every anniversary is spent here and we think it's actually decently priced considering the quality. I've seen places that cost just a little less and were miles behind in terms of quality and flavor.

Ordered to go. Food quality is great, taste is great. Definitely on the expensive side. Carpaccio is the best I’ve had in St.Louis, truffle oil is a genius’s touch. Duck fettuccine is amazing. Beef tartare is also pretty good, not much seasoning, raw beef of great quality, love the fish on the tartare!

Wow! Our meal at Tony’s last night was amazing. Four of us were in town from Portland for a baseball and sightseeing tour of my Dad’s hometown (his first trip back in more than 15 years). Tony’s was the fine-dining establishment of Dad’s childhood, and we decided to try it at its new (to him at least) location in Clayton. It did not disappoint. We were scheduled to eat in the dining room, but after arriving early and heading up to the bar for a drink, we met bartender/server Manny and quickly decided that we would not be moving back downstairs. Manny and his partner’s service, food and wine expertise, and general friendly attitude made it an outstanding night for us. The food was amazing (toasted ravioli, lobster pasta, strip steak, veal trio, chicken piccata - everything was top-notch), wine was outstanding, and we could’t have asked for a better way to start our trip. Thanks again to Manny and the whole crew at Tony’s, that was a dinner we won’t forget!

Excellent dinner. The food and service were outstanding. Finally a great night to sit outside. Also watching a football game in upstairs bar. Looking forward to next time. I've already told a few friends.

Celebrating a perfect anniversary with my wife. Dinner at Tony's was excellent, service always the best. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Food is absolutely delicious, staff are simply awesome. Totally appreciate the way staff engages with everyone, makes you feel quite welcome and comfortable here. Definitely St. Louis best!

Sometimes I forget how much I enjoy a lovely restaurant. Tony’s helped me remember there is nothing quite like it. This was my first time at the new location. No surprise - it’s gorgeous.

The wait staff did a terrific job. They are professionals so they don’t miss anything. The owner circulated thru the restaurant all night. He seemed genuinely happy to see each and every person.

The food was incredible! I get the sense that you can’t go wrong with anything you order. I LOVED everything but the trio of veal was beyond words. If you’ve read my reviews previously, I always have leftovers. My leftover veal was even better the next day. How is that possible?!?!

I was surprised how good the acoustics were. The dining room was very busy (it was a Tuesday evening) but I felt I could hear fairly well. Generally I struggle to hear in a crowded dining room.

An experience to say the least. First time at the new location and ever for that sake. Tony's has been a Gateway Staple for 75 years. I was so interested in this reputation I researched the Bommarito family's history and it was a very interesting read leading up to a close friends birthday reservation at the new location in Clayton. So Tony's and Clayton are what I consider a perfect combination. Especially in the new Centene building. The outdoor patio area is set in a sleek yet comfortable vibe with a bar completely stocked, seating, and lounge. We had a few drinks that were crafted to my specific pleasure and the staff behind the bar was spot on. Upon seating we had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Bommarito that evening and I have to compliment him on the design. Hats off to you sir. Your hospitality was just the perfect amount of class. Your attention to our table was warm and gracious. Thankful, grateful, and blessed for that. I had an enormous amount of anticipation leading up to the meal. I was looking at the menu all day. We ordered a bottle of Moscato for the ladies. Started with the Ravioli, San Marzano - since 1949. Meaning that has been a tradition since the above referenced year. Ok so if you are from St. Louis and there is the option for Ravioli in a 4 diamond restaurant you so happen to find yourself in. You get the Ravioli. So just take my advice on that last sentence. We had Tony's salad and it was amazing. I ordered the Black Pepper Rubbed Prime Sirloin Strip Steak with Green Peppercorn cream and the Mrs. Ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. As a meat lover they nailed it. I mean absolutely nailed the sirloin. Medium Rare yet the perfect crisp of Black Pepper Rubbed on the outside. The cream was the perfect compliment to this dish. Mr. Bommarito strongly suggested the Chilean Sea Bass to my better half and I have to say it was one of the best dishes I have ever had. Magical flavors combined to make this dish a must should you find it on the nightly special availability. What a wonderful evening it turned out to be and I look forward to returning and enjoying more of this amazing establishment.

Cherry on top. Vladimir Tarensenko was leaving as we walked in and he was gracious enough to extend a friendly hello after I said thank you for a Stanley Cup.

Absolutely the best food I've ever had. It's actually worth the money. Ever anniversary we celebrate here. It always leaves the most memorable memories. We really like Aaron (and Bruce) as our waiter. Nothing but great experiences. Also if they aren't busy you're welcome to tour the actual kitchen and see how beautiful it is. It looks brand new but that's only because they clean it so thoroughly, it's the cleanest kitchen you've ever seen. That is a big deal to me personally.

Id highly recommend the tuna carpaccio, the seafood pasta, the filet mignons, and all of the desserts. Everything is made table side and some of the dessert require a huge flame that is just so much fun to watch.

It's also family owned and not a chain. That's where I like to spend my money. Chains just compare on level service or food quality.

Good Food. Excellent Service. Owner was there the whole time making suggestions, helping with our orders, and made us feel very important. I really enjoyed the food and how nice the restaurant decor and atmosphere was. They made sure to accommodate our friend for her birthday.

There is not more than I can say then this is the best restaurant in Saint Louis and has been for almost 50 years. I've been a concierge in the city for over a decade and have never experienced service nor atmosphere such as we encountered at our dinner. As for dinner it was beyond phenomenal period from the mussels and rissioto for starters to our main courses of filet, Dover Sole (served table side!) and veal milenaense it could not have been a better meal. Well except, when they brought it desert also served table side, bananas flambe! This was an exceptional evening that we will never forget! Thank you for proving me correct to every guest that I've sent there and will continue to do through out my career.

C'mon. It's Tony's - one St. Louis' most iconic and exclusive restaurants. It would impossible for this place to be less than five stars - they strive for ten stars on an everyday basis. The service is impeccable. We had three people serving us, instantly appearing at our table just before we knew we needed them, for whatever our need could be. The food was tremendous - except my wife said she should have gotten the spinach salad instead of the house salad, because it looked just a little tastier. I thought it was pretty good, the spinach salad with Roquefort provided me with a burst of flavor in every bite. She got some beet conglomeration as an appetizer, I'm not a beet fan, but she said it was awesome. I had the scallops with truffle. Yes, quite tasty, but only two. I was to learn that was not a bad thing. For our entrees we both had Lobster Adenello. This plate was huge, my wife couldn't finish hers so it was up to me to make sure no bite of lobster was left behind. We were there for my wife's birthday, so of course there was a piece of birthday cake, two small cookies, a chocolate caramel tart with raspberry sauce, and creme brulee. Needless to say, we pretty much waddled out of there. Oh, forgot to say, they had Blanton's Bourbon so I got a couple pours of that, too. Overall, it was an experience in fine dining and well worth getting dressed up for. For the record, I wore a coat and tie, which I only rarely do for the most special occasions.

Group of 8 traveling together. Chose to eat here instead of the Ritz Carlton where we were staying. Made a good choice. Delicious food, outstanding service and classy atmosphere.

Excellent service, food, wine list. They are Very professional, the atmosphere makes for a relaxing dining experience. They cater to your every need, but are not intrusive. Tableside service, a lost art, was impeccable! Highly recommend!!!!!

From the very beginning of getting out of the car, to being waited on to getting back in the car it was an amazing experience! I was treated with such respect and gratitude. Above and beyond my expectations and I would reccomend this magnificent restaurant!

New location , same service and menu. New location more spacious and has more light but still cozy. Service is always great. Food is excellent. Jim is a great host and always checks on customers. Excellent Location in central Clayton.
