Safeway

As visitors to the US and our first experience of a Safeway, we were very pleasantly surprised. Good selection, good prices and friendly helpful staff - in particular the kind lady (apologies for not getting your name) at the deli/food counter who happily went out of her way to help us.

Recently remodeled, there is now more selections of grocery, produce, bakery and deli, with everything new! Even a new bakery and deli were put in!
Bathrooms were even remodeled. Checkout lines much improved with self checkout, no more waiting in long lines!

Strategic and convenient location. The self-checkout cashier was attentive and helpful to everyone in the line. This safeway always has fresh produces that don't disappoint, and complete salad and hot bar. Prices have gone up throughout the years but there're always weekly deals, and meat and fish on sale. I want to highlight the store manager who went above and beyond. I was tired from being sick and did not have enough grocery to count for a cash back. He graciously helped me although it was my fault. Thank you Sir for showing kindness in my low moments

Nice organization of food and layout is perfect to find the things you need also have clean restrooms so that's a plus 🤌

After living abroad, it’s always great to visit a US grocery store and this Safeway is no exception. Great selection, good products that I’m used to seeing. Just a great shopping experience.

My favorite shop everywhere in the USA. Club card is very helpful, yiu get discount for everything. Fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, sausage, cheese, drinks, snacks, medicine- you can find everything for friendly prices. I love their shrimp salad, cheese cakes, croissants, soup and many other stuff!

Safeway have great prices and I really like the $19.99 for 4 packs of meat under the special that they have which may consist of shrimp, chicken, ground beef, sausage, beef, steak, pork, seasond meats! They have vegetables that are special variety priced.

Conveniently quick. Just a short walk from my apartment. Plus I get just enough stuff / groceries to last me a week. Go back for more 😃

I don't understand why this place has bad reviews. This is a great store that has a great stock of items. The store is usually pretty clean and everything is fairly priced. I love that they have free garage parking and you can get in and out quickly.

I have always dreaded coming here. The vibe of this Safeway is very depressing.

I’m giving it 5 stars because of Kenny C, the cashier that helped me. He was attentive and detail oriented unlike the other staffs. He noticed that I only bought one energy bar and handed it to me instead of putting it in the bag with the rest of my grocery. He read my mind that I was going to eat the energy bar in my car lol. He also noticed that I put parking slip on the counter. Without me saying a word, he quickly scanned it. With other staffs, they seemed to get annoyed when I asked them to scan the slip. The little things he did made such a big difference. I wish they hire more people like him!

This Safeway is tucked away, but it is much better than the one by my house. The food is better prepared and the people are nice. This is the only Safeway I've ever been to where they don't have ridiculously long lines because of mismanagement of the cashiers. I'm usually in and out pretty quickly.

I do love this place! Get the Safeway card at the customer service desk for added discounts; it only takes a minute. I bought a big package of fried chicken for only $4 and a gallon of iced tea for around $2. Meal for a week ;-)

I don't normally write these reviews but I had to for tonight. Mr. Gary is by far the most wonderful person I have met! He helped me with an issue with patience and kindness. I wish everyone was like him!!!! :)

Decent little market. They fit a lot of products in here, despite the relatively small store size. The urban area markup is not too bad on most items.

They always have a good deal for you!

I would say this store is special: someone is ready to help you when you need it.

Great selection of fruits, veggies, meats, fish and frozen foods. Their deli, where you can get subs and htit meals, is the best deal in Rosslyn. Easy walk from almost anywhere in 22201. I walk there, buy my groceries, and take the bus home. Or I use instacart to shop there and get groceries delivered. This Safeway is an oasis - staves of what would otherwise be a food desert.

I thought this particular Safeway was well-stocked. We easily found everything we needed. Great alternative to the other popular chain nearby. Service was pleasant and helpful.

I have to say this is a wonderful Safeway. I needed help with getting my sandwich meat and a young lady by the name of Kayonna 👍🏾 helped me out. Thank you.

I will be back to visit Safeway again is very clean like everything was in there is neat and clean I'll be back to come buy some grocery out of there soon the cashiers are very helpful

I stayed at the hyatt on my trip and this was a quick walk down the road they had somethings that i couldnt find anywhere else. The cashier and employees were very nice and help. As far as cleanliness it was great idk where these other posts are from but from what i see they are a good establishment
