Screwtop Wine Bar

Nice spot for wine, both to sit down and drink there or to take home. Stopped by for happy hour and had two glasses of wonderful wine. Didn’t eat but the food looked great. They have a great selection. The staff was knowledgeable and very friendly in their service.

Love this place!! The vibe and the extensive wine and drink list were PERFECT for our Girls Brunch. I had the Mimosa & Expresso Martini, and to eat the Saganaki Shrimp which was a tasty small plate. I can’t to return to try their Wine Flights & more of their wines!

Slow service, very tasty food and great selection of wines (especially the rose.) Tight on space but worth it once inside, even with the so so service.

I had never been to a wine bar before. In fact, I felt a little out of place until the friendly staff made me feel welcome. They all seem to love their jobs and they love to teach you about wine. Wine flights are a great way to enjoy and compare several different wines to see what it is you like and don’t like. They have an extensive wine list and a full kitchen with some unusual flavorful offerings.

Sitting at the bar is the most entertaining unless you have a bigger group. For six or more you can reserve one of two tables off to the side of the store which is away from the noise of the bar. (Or outside seating when it’s warmer).

We enjoyed flights of Cabernet and Sauvignon Blanc. We had a delicious cheese plate, spicy empanadas, savory Tuscan chicken flatbread, olives, almonds and corn nuts. Our waitress told us about our wines and answered all of our questions. She even brought us free samples of their frozen white wine and strawberry icy drink to try.

This is a great place to hang out, drink wine, eat good food, and converse with friends. It’s also a wine and cheese store, so you can bring home what you like.

I just hosted a surprise birthday party at Screwtop & the event exceeded my expectations! We had 3 wines, lots of appetizers & everyone enjoyed every sip & bite. The event planner, Wendy created happy birthday placards with my husband’s name & a description of each wine - unexpected, appreciated, & elegant. The staff was extraordinary & very patient. The 10 guests wanted to mingle & did not want to be seated & we held up the service. All the staff were engaging & quickly attended to any special requests.. Thank you Wendy & Screwtop Wine Bar for a perfect celebration!

I loved going this place when I lived in Clarendon. It was an authentic experience, nothing over priced with very gracious servers. And the wine list was to die for. Food not A+ but definitely gets the job done. Just a fun wine bar with people who know wine.

My favorite dinner spot in Arlington. Love the menu, the wine flights, the food is great and the bar is always fun. Can be loud for conversation but that’s the only drawback.

I'm relatively new to Arlington and Screwtop has quickly become my favorite local spot! I frequently stop by for dinner and wine flights and have consistently been impressed with the excellent wine, food and knowledgable staff. I'm also a member of the wine club and cannot recommend it enough for any fellow winos! Each month we receive two high-quality red wines and a cheese for pairing - this is great for anyone who, like me, struggles to pick out wine on their own but wants to be a bit adventurous! Additionally, this past weekend my boyfriend worked with the owner, Wendy, to plan a surprise birthday party and it was such a memorable evening! They hand-selected wines for the flight and customized the entire experience. Thank you to the entire Screwtop team for hosting an excellent event!

Wendy and the entire team at Screwtop could not be MORE accommodating and helpful! They went above and beyond to help my sister's bridal shower brunch a special occasion - including custom menus, a custom tasting flight, coordination on decor and just fabulous service the day of. On top of that it was SO reasonably priced and the food and drink was all delicious! Highly highly recommend.

I wish I could give 6 stars for service. I had my holiday party at Screwtop in Dec 2023 and they were so accommodating to all my asks, and they created the special Holiday Wine tasting menu for my party. I will definitely be coming back next xmas. Thanks again for the entire staff for making my holiday party so memorable.

This is a *great* neighborhood restaurant/bar. They pride themselves on good/value wine and the kitchen serves great food. This is a local treasure. Was local owners and now local owners - like I said neighbors.

Great little place for tasty bites and wonderful wine. Several flights to choose from or single glasses. Various food options - the shrimp starter is delicious!!

Ok New Yorkers. This is a fine place. With quips like “Everything Happens for a Riesling” and “My Pinoir is Bigger than Yours” you know this has to be a fun place. Yeah the wine selection is robust but what makes this place NY quality is the ambience, great and unique dish pairings, and the entire staff that acknowledges you. The draft beer selections are awesome including proven selections from outside the region. (Other places around here push local brews exclusively...I get it.) Seriously though, come here and get into the spirit. Join the club and get into the mood. Read all the funny lines and engage with the crew. Enjoy a hard day’s flight.

Sam made our visit to Screwtop the absolute best! She’s a wonderful server that really knows her wine, and we took her suggestions to heart and bought a couple bottles after!

I went here for wine tasting and tried the Valentine's Day flight. The wine, food, and service was really good. I would highly recommend this place.

Great place to have amazing wine and food. The wine menu is great, great options for red, white and rose wine. The food is also pretty good, we ordered the cheese plate and the butternut squash pasta and everything was delicious, the pasta came with a thai soup that was very tasty. The staff is also very friendly.

I met some friends for drinks at Screwtop on Saturday night and we had a lovely time! We didn’t have a reservation but got lucky with a table leaving after we were waiting for a few minutes. The service from everyone was impeccable, all very friendly. We sat outside, each ordered a flight of wine and shared the cheese board which was plenty to snack on for three of us. Absolutely will be back again but definitely with a reservation since this place was so popular!

As someone from Louisiana craving crawfish during the Mardi Gras season, this place did the trick. Is the crawfish the same as it is in Louisiana? Not exactly, but it is definitely yummy. A different style, but for sure not bad. I was very worried about the size, flavor, and quality, but they were a great size and the quality was great. Again, a different flavor profile than what I'm use to, but still great!
My husband ordered the crawfish macaroni and cheese. Also so good!
The crawfish came out about 10-15 minutes before the macaroni due to a kitchen mistake. Our lovely waitress brought us free beignets because of the inconvenience. The beignets were better than any other beignet I have ever eaten. The beignet/ice cream/strawberry sauce combo was to die for.
On top of the delicious food, and amazing service on a very busy night, the drinks were awesome as well! Their wide selection of Abita beers is awesome, and the fish bowls were amazing as well. It really made me feel closer to home and was super comforting!
We will definitely be coming back!

Excellent, little quiet place for a small plate, glass of wine, or craft beer. Yeah, happy hour starts at 11:00, Yes 11:00 AM. Any other part of the food happy hour starts at 3:00 pm, so you have some options. Enjoy

Screwtop is wonderful and has a fantastic wine club! Definitely worth joining if you like to hang out and drink wine a few times a month!
