I had the pleasure of working for VTA Advisors. I was not asked to write a review. I am doing it because VTA is truly an amazing company, and I want to explain why. Manisha, the owner, is sharp, a quick thinker, a problem solver, very knowledgeable, patient, and kind. I also had a mentor who is the most thoughtful person, with many years of experience, thorough, and a great communicator. Everybody else working for the company is also very knowledgable, hardworking and nice. Life events have moved me away from this company, but if I ever have bookkeeping or tax question, VTA is the company I will call.

VTA does an excellent job on tax preparation. They are very organized and always available to explain complicated tax issues in an easy-to-understand way. Plus Steve and Manisha think ahead on tax implications for the future.

Manisha has been doing my taxes for 3 years now and I am entirely satisfied. She is prompt, efficient and dependable. I always leave with a sense of well being knowing that my taxes are done correctly.

I cannot offer an endorsement to this company. Upon arriving for my appointment (booked two weeks prior), things got off to a disastrous start. The owner, Manisha, essentially accused me of failing to provide my appointment type in their system when I booked. I was so confused. If there were appointment info gaps (which was not my fault as a new customer that used their website), I couldn’t reconcile why she didn’t simply contact me in advance especially since it seemed to be an important detail for her.

She proceeded to pepper me with questions for the first few minutes. Again, I was confused by her abrasiveness — she had not even bothered with the most basic of pleasantries. Eventually, I opted to grant her some grace and assume positive intent. Not only was I not getting what I needed from the interaction, I thought maybe I could build a bridge so we could have a productive meeting. Recommending we start over, I introduced myself, intent of appointment and explained my husband and I were newer local homeowners seeking a new CPA given ours moved out of state. She NEVER introduced herself. According to other reviews, it appears Manisha may be technically sound. However, based on my limited exposure to her, she seemed to lack self-awareness or basic customer service capabilities and I do not have unrealistic standards.

Without going into every specific, I will summarize the entire 10 minute appointment as a complete and utter waste of my time. Manisha was quite haughty, cagey and unrelenting. In retrospect, she misjudged me from the outset. All customers deserve to be treated with dignity. It wasn’t until I signaled my financial level that she adjusted her approach. By then, she had already made too many unforced errors to recover this client. Take note.

My long time tax preparer/CPA is retiring so I called Manisha to inquire about being a new client. She was short, uninterested and not accommodating. She wanted to charge me almost double what I had been charged and was very unprofessional in her dealings with me. I came looking for a long term relationship like I've had with my long time CPA, but this practice is all about up charging customers and horrible customer service. Buyer be ware. God knows how shoddy the work is given how unprofessional Manisha, the owner, is.
