A somber yet serene way to honor those lost that day.
The way they have the timeline and the benches positioned.
For those that may not know about the positioning of the benches.
The somber part was the meaning of the benches. Those facing the pentagon are those who were on the plane. Those whose benches are facing away from the pentagon are those whose view was of the plane coming towards them.

It's worth the trip and visit. I've heard this is one of the lesser visited memorials, it should be experienced just as much as the others.

The powerful and peaceful 9/11 Pentagon Memorial. This memorial is so well thought out and an honor to those who lost their lives on that fateful day. The crepe myrtles were in full red fall colors, which added to the tranquil but haunting atmosphere of this memorial. We wanted to pay our respect to those who perished and to all those who serve in the Pentagon and in our military around the world, the honorable and dedicated service members who keep us safe and free everyday, we appreciate and thank you.

An unbelievably well-done memorial opened in 2008 that not many people visit, but should visit.

Remembering the lives of the 184 people who lost their lives during the 9/11 attack, the design itself is very intentional. Each person who lost their lives has a bench organized based on the year each victim was born and 85 crepe myrtle trees surround the memorial. Coming in autumn is incredible as the trees' leaves change color.

Water flows beneath the benches and light up at night. Each person's name is inscribed into the side of the bench and the direction they're facing represents where they were when the plan crashed. If the name faces the Pentagon, they were on the plane.

There is a 24-minute audio tour on the memorial website that I would highly recommend one listen to while strolling through the memorial.

The best way to visit is to walk from the Pentagon metro station as there is no parking.

Very Nicely Done and respectful! I have been hoping to visit this for many years as I have been to Shanksville (numerous times) and NYC Trade Center before. I hope to visit here again (at night). Never Forget and share your memories with the younger generation of this horrible day in our American History.

This was my first time visiting this site. How powerful in how the designers laid out the tributes. And the water feature underneath each makes the stone look like the wing of an aircraft. So peaceful and quiet.

On this unbearable tragic day in history, September 11, 2001, has transformed our nation and changed each one of us forever. It took me and family 22 years to pay my final respect to LTG Timothy J. Maude and those we lost at Pentagon Memorial. Time has a healing purpose, and our wounds leave us with scars. And yet, there are moments in our lives when we feel as though our broken hearts will never heal.
Time is life itself, and life resides in our hearts. Together, we remember those who lost their lives, the families who lost their loved ones, and those who sacrificed in order to restore communities and shape a path forward. Let's honor their memory and express our gratitude. We are eternal grateful and let us never forget. How can we help?

A really truely well done memorial, so peaceful, beautiful, respectful, and aesthetic design that really honours the event and those who perished. Very moving experience to be here, and see the beauty that was made in memory of a tragedy. Never seen anything like it before.

A sobering reminder of the risk our military people accept everyday simply by going to work. Well worth visiting to pay your respects.

Very moving memorial dedicated to those that lost their lives at the Pentagon and in the airplane. We had the opportunity to take a tour with a retire Pentagon employee that was there on September 11, 2001. Very MOVING!

They did a wonderful job remembering those we lost on 9-11-2001. It is a peaceful place. It is well laid out and well thought out. Everything has meaning. It was a good way to never forget those we miss.

Even though it may appear "not as glamorous" as the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, or Jefferson Memorial - this Memorial is more moving to me than any. The atmosphere was somber, extremely quiet, and respectful by all who were there (there was even a large group of school students who looked to be teenagers, and they were ALL well-behaved). A must-see, do, and visit for those of all ages... parental discretion advised, of course, for the Littles and wanting to have them exposed to the hate that the U.S. went through on 9/11.

It is well thought out for the memory of every individual who lost their lives that day on the fateful flight. I also think it hits home as to where the Memorial is located, as it is outside the Pentagon. Highly recommend.

Definitely take your time and take in the whole monument. Text or go to the site and listen to the timeline. It made me truly appreciate every aspect of this memorial. Everything served it’s purpose.

The Pentagon Memorial is a memorial site for the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attack. There is a small monument with the names of the victims and a small park. There are also toilets nearby for visitors to this place, which is very convenient because there is nothing nearby except parking lots and the Pentagon building.

As far as serving as a place to reflect on and contemplate the events of 9/11, here, it serves its purpose. Very quiet and well kept.
Finding the place and parking is another matter currently as the roads seem to be under construction everywhere in the vicinity.

A beautiful tribute to those that lost their lives in the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon
This is open to the public and located on the southwest corner of the Pentagon. The entrance is on the southern side of the tribute. This is a moving tribute to the lives lost in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The memorial consists of a series of benches arranged in a pattern that reflects the flight path of American Airlines Flight 77, which was hijacked and flown into the building. Each bench is inscribed with the name of one of the 184 victims who died that day.

The entire site has a very low profile and is very tastefully done. Visitors can take a quiet moment to reflect and remember those who lost their lives. The benches are arranged in a peaceful and contemplative setting, surrounded by trees and flowers. It includes a wall inscribed with a timeline of the events of 9/11 as you enter, as well as a plaque honoring the first responders who rushed to the scene to help.

The Pentagon 9/11 Memorial is a powerful and poignant reminder of the events of that tragic day. The design of the memorial is simple yet effective, and the location on the grounds of the Pentagon provides a fitting tribute to those who lost their lives in the attack. For anyone visiting the Washington, D.C. area, a visit to the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial is a must-see. It serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by those who serve our country, and the enduring strength of the American spirit.

We visited during the day but wanted to see it at night. Very peaceful. Well thought out design. We parked in the huge parking lot for the Pentagon but did not have any trouble doing so. You can also visit the Airforce memorial right down the street. There are public air portable bathrooms on site. Very clean.

Catching it after dark is amazing. Very nice tribute to the people who lost their lives to this senseless violence. To get there it is a very long loop around the Pentagon parking lot. An assistant driver would make it easier. Google maps has gone well defining the irregular path to the parking area, though it overshoots where you're actually allowed to park and goes into the park area.

Beautifully designed to honor the lives that were lost, very emotional. There is a volunteer that shows up and share photos and details of that day of 9/11 not sure if there's a time schedule. He did give me a picture card with details about the memorial units why they were facing different directions😢and also there's a number on the back of the card to call with a Pentagon Memorial Audio Tour. Unfortunately the volunteer came when I was leaving and handed me this card. I posted a picture of this card hopefully it's legible and I hope this helps. I can't wait to visit again.
