Plato's Closet

This store has the best events ever (especially the athletic event.) All their clothes are in great condition (some even new with tags if you’re lucky) Most thrift stores seem to be a hit or miss every time I go, but Plato’s closet seems to always be a hit! Favorite all time store, great for all seasons!

Very friendly staff, they are all awesome and so stylish. One employee even remembered me from the last event and let me know about the next one! (It feels good to be remembered) The clothes are so cute, the employees have great taste. My only complaint would be that way too much Shein is on the racks. I say no to fast fashion that’s why I shop second hand. Plus with how they are priced it would be cheaper for me to just buy it on shein itself. But that doesn’t take away to how amazing of a store it is. The owner is so kind as well and not only owns this location but the Manassas one as well. I frequent both! By the way, make sure to bring cash and sign up for their rewards program.

From a buying only perspective it was great! Clean, fair prices, good variety. Only complaint was there were definitely a noticeable # of incorrectly tagged items, so just make sure to double check the size and gender before impulse buying!

Love shopping this store. Always a great selection of exactly what we are looking for. My two teen daughters and I make the drive from Southern Maryland to catch the amazing deals here.

Fantastic selection of gently used clothing and will buy your clothes for reasonable prices! I found an Altar'd State dress for less than $20 and brand new dresses sell for much, much more! Customer service is wonderful!

This is the best Plato’s I have ever been to by FAR. The prices! The quality! The lack of outdated trends! I found 10 incredible pieces, half still with tags, and snagged all for under $60. This store was incredibly clean and well organized with a huge variety and great stock of items. Will absolutely be back!!!

as far as shopping I Don’t shop here! I go here to drop off clothes once a year. its very organized one of the better locations! i’ve gotten rid of a lot of clothes I don’t need here they give you a fair price at this location! just make sure everything is CLEAN* still in style and not worn out.

I love Plato’s closet! The clothes look like they have never been worn. The store is well managed and organized. They have a really good system for the big events they hold. I have told many friends about this place and we all love it. Sometimes you can even find clothes with the tags. I HIGHLY recommend talking a look at the store. The workers are so sweet and really good at being efficient as well as helpful.

If you are thinking about thrifting but you are concerned about bad quality or cheap stuff. There is no need to worry when you shop at Plato’s closet. They have you covered with top quality clothing. The clothes look like they have never been worn. I have shopped here many times. The Fairfax location is one of the best locations I have been to. The workers are well organized and so excited for big events. If you haven’t been go check it out!!

As we resale facilities go, this place has a lot of stuff. Unfortunately, on the day I went they were no longer accepting clothing. The staff was very busy but cordial. It is a different shopping experience.

My daughter's and I love this store! Always a huge selection of name brand clothes, and plenty of AE jeans... our fave! The only negative I can say is that it's frustrating when I bring in good quality, great condition, name brand clothes to sell and they don't get accepted. However, on the flip side I can appreciate them being picky about what they accept, because I can be sure when I'm shopping that the clothes have been thoroughly inspected and I don't have to worry about getting home and noticing stains, rips, or any defects.

If you are looking for teen or young adult clothing, it is worth looking at this Plato's Closet location. This location also sells shoes and accessories. If you visit their IG, you can learn about upcoming sales and special clothing events (such as athletic events selling Lululemon and Gymshark). It is an accessible location to get to. There is plenty of parking. I always feel welcomed despite not representing the targeted age group.

They have a good selection of things. I like when they do lululemon events and athletic wear events.

I almost forgot about this hidden gem, I was able to find warm clothes for a decent price!

I have been coming here for years! I love this store and always find great items. The store is always clean and the workers are so friendly and helpful. Would recommend coming here if you are trying to find good gently used clothes!

Love when they have “special days” for certain brands or college gear. We’ve found some great items at 1/2 or more from retail. All the clothes are inspected so we’ve never had any issues! So glad you guys are around! - mom of 2 teenage daughters!!!

I love going to shop here 24/7, there’s something for everyone. Most of my favorite clothing pieces i’ve bought here. Selling clothes to them is such a great and easy process. They have a great staff, very kind. Plato’s closet will forever be one of my favorite places to shop!

We go there A LOT to shop/buy clothes. My daughter and I joke that when they see us coming they are like here they come again. We always find amazing items and the staff is super helpful and super friendly. Don't expect to go in for one item and only walk out with one item! Our favorite store!
