I was satisfied with the food quality, generous portions, service, atmosphere, and price points, but the Korean army noodle soup had an overpowering kimchi flavor and was too salty.

Overall had a positive experience! Got the shoyu (good amount of saltiness), spicy miso ramen (enough spice for me but some may find it not spicy enough), seafood okonomiyaki(good crunch and flavor). Everything delicious and big portions. Good service and environment. Would go back if around Fairfax again.

One bowl of ramen is not a massive amount but it is suitably filling. Maybe like 650-700 calories or something without add ons. I got the shoyu ramen. Noodles were the perfect texture - just a bit chewy, neither overcooked or undercooked. Egg was perfect. Pork was delicious though maybe a bit on the dry side if eaten plain without a spoonful of broth. Broth itself was flavorful, but too salty to enjoy on its own. Generally I thought everything here except the noodles was on the slightly salty side, but I still liked it.

Attentive and friendly service, and I love that they give you a water jug for the table. All restaurants should do this!

A+ restaurant vibes, very cozy and warm feeling, and the 4-person tables were plenty large. Tables were comfortably distanced from others. Despite the restaurant being at maybe 60-70% capacity, it never felt too loud or cramped.

Decent or average value for what you get, despite portions being on the smaller side.

Would come back for other food like sushi or appetizers.

Just so good. So, so good. Do yourself a solid and just go. Delicious food, diligent, friendly service, great atmosphere. Can't speak highly enough.

A hidden gem in Fairfax. First time here. Very pleased with the menu options. We haven’t had tsukemen before. Tried the Astro Boy. The broth was super flavorful. The combination of the mild flavor noodles and broth is just divine. Another favorite is okonomiyaki. It was a very generous size and delicious 🤙

Phenomenal experience. Great people, great food, great everything. The employees here WORK THEIR BUTT OFF and killed it during this Sunday evening dinner crowd. I hope management saw the hard work tonight!!

There’s no option in the recommendations for the Army ramen, but that’s what I ordered and it was amazing! The kimchi broth was to die for. My boyfriend ordered the Shio ramen and destroyed it in minutes, it was so good!

This place never disappoints. We brought a friend with us this time who had a craving for ramen. One of our favorite places for a really good broth (my favorite is the Army ramen because I love a spicy (but not too spicy) kimchi broth. Loaded with kimchi veggies, spam, & sausage - its so filling! We also order spam musubi on the side but was so full we could barely eat it - but we did!

I had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The menu had a great variety of options to choose from, and everything we ordered was delicious. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to come back!

A 7/10 for me taste wise! They're very generous with their portions! I got the spicy miso ramen, it could've used a lot more "spicy", but was still yummy! The pork was my favorite part! Huge, thick slices! 😍 Would recommend!

Came here for the ramen on a whim and was surprised! Shio ramen was delicious, though the portion size was smaller than I thought. Only 1 meat and 1 egg, but the ramen noodles were the perfect springy texture. Ordered the Pork Bun as well, but not as good. The meat was a lil too dry, but i appreciate the fact that the buns were served hot.

We had ramen and the sliders! All of it was amazing! Service wasn’t the best. We were seated but then no one came back to get our drink or food order for 15 mins. The food was phenomenal though!!

I had a wonderful experience at Marumen, a cozy and authentic ramen restaurant in Fairfax, VA. The service was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Bibimbap, a Korean rice dish with vegetables, egg, and beef, and it was one of the best I've ever had. The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the vegetables were fresh and crunchy, and the beef was tender and flavorful. The egg added a nice creaminess to the dish, and the spicy sauce gave it a kick. It was a generous portion that filled me up, but I couldn't resist trying some of my wife’s miso ramen. It was also amazing, with a rich and savory broth, chewy noodles, tender pork, and fresh toppings. The miso flavor was well-balanced and not overpowering. I loved every bite. I highly recommend Marumen to anyone who loves ramen or wants to try something new and delicious. It's definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Five stars!

My husband and I came here out of curiosity, and it did not disappoint. I have been to many restaurants, but this place, hands down, has the absolute best pork buns I have ever had in my life. The freshness of the food is astounding. The shiitake mushrooms added to the ramen were delicious... they also play some awesome music! It's super clean and had a great host. Please stop by here at least once. You won't regret it.

I can understand why people thought the ramen was bland but coming NYC it is normally salty or oily. I had the spicy Miso and typically you don't drink the soup but I did. To me it was good, the pork belly was pretty big and flavorful.

The staff was simple and quick. Kept it short, checked up on us, and
then we were out the door in 20min

This was a first for MARUMEN for me & I think I've fallen in love.

Hidden in the cut but could never be overlooked! The chicken was perfectly marinated yet so tender. I'd be lying if I said that I don't think stopping by every time I'm over in Fairfax. Ramen is one dish that I don't think I'd personally get tired of... as long as we get to switch up the toppings. It's truly happiness and comfort all wrapped up into one.

Ambiance was great. Very clean and spacious for larger parties.

Would I come back? Oh my, YES!

After living in Japan for 12 years and being accustomed to authentic ramen, this is the best ramen experience I've had so far in NOVA. They also serve sushi, which is not usual in Japan, so it was great that I was able to order both of my favorite dishes in one place.
