If I could give Herrick Campus 100 stars for being the BEST hospital, I would! My father has been a chronic lymphocytic leukemia patient here for years and never had one complaint. The staff is friendly, helpful and heart warming. Dr Checchi and Robin Fernandez have always done their best to give my father the best treatment. I trust these Doctors 100%. It’s thanks to God, the Doctors and staff that my father is still living! They treat my father and us his family very well. You can just feel it in your heart that they care. Thank you so much to everyone that works here and has helped my father. From the entrance receptionist to the valet parking, thank you!!! There are no words to describe my gratitude. God bless each one of you. ❤💞🙏🏼

This place saved my life, i came here once or twice when i was in my addiction (to Drugs). It is a very friendly clean facility, one floor, 8 rooms and 2 people to a room, each room has its own bathroom and shower. You get alot of one on one reflection time with staff and the meals are filling. Overall its a great and i am truely greatfull for them saving my life

this place had a few ups and many downs on unit 3EB some of the staff were nice like Emilio, Kate, Kendra, Crystal, And Anthony, Most of the other ones were just not helpful or would be yelling at patients or trying to shut down the unit. but you can make some really good friends. If you are going for a suicide attempt it’s not very helpful they usually keep you 3 days or less which does not change anything. if you are going for an eating disorder it’s very very unhelpful they just want you to reach your goal weight/ healthy weight and then they usually kick you out or send you somewhere else. would definitely not recommend to anyone please go somewhere else!! (sorry staff if any of you are reading this lol)

This review is specifically focused on two people, Erin Murphy, my former physical therapist at Herrick, and her immediate supervisor Tonya Grossman. It is the first negative review I have written about any business, but my experience was so horrible, it would be a disservice to the public to not share it.

Erin was my physical therapist for two full years of my recovery from a stroke. It should be obvious that I originally thought highly of her as I am hardly going to waste two precious years working hard to recover from a stroke with a person who I feel is not helping. Everything changed in the moment when I realized the depth of her dysfunction. I arrive 15 minutes early for my session. The gym was open. I needed to do some exercise so I decided it would be less intrusive if I did my exercise in the gym knowing I would not use any of their equipment. Apparently this is a weird tripwire for Erin. She was absolutely furious, and launched into an unstoppable attack on me for 20 minutes instead of giving me the therapy session that I had come to take. Somehow I should have known that just entering the gym without her was one of the worst transgressions a person could possibly commit? It was impossible for me to stop her attack. She finally stormed out of the room.

That afternoon Tonya, her supervisor, called to tell me all my therapy had been canceled with Herrick. I was shocked. Whatever they think I did, neither of them had the courtesy to even try to tell me what it was. It must have been something they perceive as terrible to justify their action. But it is their personal secret. I had not only had two years of therapy with Erin, but I also had extensive additional experience with organization. None of that history mattered to either one of these people in their pursuit of attempting to punish me for an unrevealed transgression initiated by Erin. They went completely silent, would not answer any questions even about my past therapy jeopardizing my health even further. In my opinion, this was astonishing and malicious behavior with no discernable purpose.

The damage I sustained from this action in my stroke recovery was absolutely significant. Two months ago, I would’ve given a great review. This is not the behavior of a stable, competent, professional. Two years working with someone is not worth even one word of explanation? Apparently because they walked into a gym? It is certain now that she never cared about me at all although she was very convincing that she did. You have been warned, I wish I was.

People that are willing to engage in this kind of behavior are usually skilled at creating disinformation to protect themselves. No question, I'll see that here. Just to ensure there is no misunderstanding, I have significant relationships with other doctors and lots of support staff at Herrick which have been and continue to be excellent. Same with Sutter. I would be happy to recommend any of these people to the larger community for their excellence in healthcare. It is only the PT department that is a problem which sadly includes PT management.

A hospital that refuses to allow someone to come in and use their restrooms. I would think that peeing outside would be a public health hazard. But i guess it's ok in Berkeley. I wonder if i wasnt wearing my backpack, bcuz i am houseless, if the Geatapo wpuldnt have stopped and inquired of my business. She would rather i piss myself. Thank you...thats what Jesus woulda done.

the building looks like a juvenile hall. Rooms need a lot of improvement. doctors released a 51/ 50 patient in less than 3 days which led the patient to another attempt to hurt themselves.Comparing Fremont hospital to Herrick, I would say Fremont Hospital is like a Sheraton hotel versus motel 6.

Was placed in their psychiatric unit and the medical staff there are not trained to handle mentally ill people and they lost my medications that I brought in somehow
