Shalom's Cafe

I bought the Today special which was oxtails and was it special. The oxtails came with greens and rice and a delicious gravy that for the life of me I cannot place this flavor. The meat was tender and falling off of the bone and the greens were seasoned perfectly not too salty and not mushy. The bbq chicken and ribs looked so good I really couldn't decide. There were other people in the diner and they all looked pleased with their meal. They offer coffee and espressos with a variety of donuts that are fresh! The kitchen is spotless, the floors are clean, and they use gloves while preparing your food. Parking is limited so you may need to park on a side street. They are located directly on the corners of Shattuck and 55th street.

Very tasty food, prepared fresh, quality ingredients especially for the affordable price. A gem and standout amongst the typical donut shop sandwich. Great donuts too. Nice and clean spot!

Huge breakfast sandwich!! Worth the 8$. Very friendly staff. Never knew about this place I need to try there lunch menu!!!

Got there to pick up a Uhual but damn early in the morning they’ve got wings legs and rib that looks $ smells gooooooooody. Yum. Coffee was nice as well!

Been working in the area for a week now. Been here almost everyday for breakfast and lunch. This place is amazing and Johnny is a very nice guy. From the sandwiches to the burgers to the Chinese food. It all amazing! You must try the collard greens they are to die for!

Shalom Cafe has has the best chicken and steak sandwich for a very reasonable price. If you spend just $12 you can have the meal you choose. I recommend anyone and especially the neighbors to take advantage of the affordable delicious food.

I DIDN'T KNOW... I stopped by while in the area for lunch. I saw greens, ribs, and turkey wings that were look delicious and most importantly, they were ready 😋. Turns out affordable and veryveryvery delicious. Going back for greens and wings for sure. GREAT FAMILY RESTAURANT IN THE TOWN

Johnny and his wife are busy baking fresh donuts at 4:30am Monday-Saturday...but that's not all!! There are a ton of breakfast and lunch options. Tastiest omelets, bagel sandwiches, hamburgers, etc. are all whipped up fresh by Mrs. Johnny. She can make just about everything so delicious!

The lady at the front is very kind and glad to chat with customers. The store is also a UHaul pickup location, and the pickup went without any hassle. The prices here are very cheap as well.

I commute to work down Shattuck five days a week and am often in the mood for a pastry to start my day with. I've tried every spot between Telegraph and Dwight and can confidently say that the doughnuts at Shalom are the best. The place is run by a lovely husband and wife who are incredibly hospitable. Stop by for a doughnut - you won't be disappointed

Got chicken over rice with some kind of brasing sauce. 10/10 incredibly tender, will be back for sweets soon.

Donuts are a major food group for myself. The bear claw melted in my mouth. Great service. Clean. Easy to find. I will be back again and again and again.

I like Shalom's. I like the breakfast croissant or bagel and the Shalom Special Sandwich is pretty good too. I also usually grab donuts when I'm here.

I love this place. Tiny, family deli that reminds me of NY. Also the only place around to get a bacon, egg n cheese on a roll 👍🏽.
