The Coal Chute Cafe and Pub

Was able to get an early reservation for a Saturday. We visited with another family who recommended the Coal Chute. Parking was easy. Park anywhere in front or side of what looked to be a converted house to restaurant.

Service was good and attentive. We were seated in the front dining area and it was too noisy even at capacity. Food didn’t take as long as expected since we’re expecting to wait since that was what the other reviews stated. It was nice that they had a kids menu. The food was good. Fresh and hot. Only negatives were a fry burger probably due to being part buffalo and slightly on the pricey side for being in Roslyn. We did end up with a lot of fries since everything came with them. I did appreciate the option of show string fries and thick fries and being able to sub for salad, soup, or sweet potato fries. I’d recommend the thick fries.

Overall, it was a nice meal with friends and service was always there when you needed.

You will love this hole in the wall restaurant you must have to see. The food is killer the atmosphere is very unique. The food is well worth it. it’s priced with healthy portions. I had the salad loved it. Atmosphere was so nice I even had to take pictures of the bathroom. Yes I washed my hands so u will be fine reading this🤣

We stopped here today to get some appetizers and this place did not disappoint! The wait staff was super friendly and the outside seating was very cool! We had clams, a salad with watermelon and greens, and scallops with a creamy chipotle sauce. Everything was delicious but the scallops were out of this world! We had to order another plate of them, amazing! Best meal we have had in a couple of years! HIGHLY recommend!

Wonderful atmosphere & decor with eclectic food and drinks. The appetizer truffle oil fries were sooo good, I wanted to order a whole plate just for myself! I ordered a firehouse burger, but there were so many different ingredients on it, I couldn't really distinguish anything individually. I will order a more simple menu item in the future, so I can better experience the individual ingredients. The "Fall Mule" drink was so excellent, I had two more (we were there for a while)! I wish I had saved room for dessert, because those looked really awesome in the display case. We look forward to returning!

From the moment we parked to the moment we left it was like eating supper at the grandparent's house...relaxed atomosphere, great food and great service. Our waiter was friendly and accommodating and we never felt rushed. Wife had a steak salad, I had the house burger, and the kids had the same; highly recommend the sweet potato fries. Dessert for the kids was ice cream and for me a Red Breast 12 year from their bar... All and all just a great spot. The sign on the door says it all....freedom to choose what works for you.

Such a fun local spot highlighting the history of Roslyn with huge portions and made-from-scratch cocktails.
- Their shoestring truffle fries and Brussel Sprouts appetizer are a must.
- The cheesecake bites in the bakery case by the door are also fantastic and come in all kinds of flavors.
- The summer blackberry sage marg is amazing with a pretty dehydrated lime as garnish. The manager said the flavor is a blackberry sage compote- no syrup here!
- The scallops come with an amazing slightly spicy pasta sauce!

Been here many times and will keep coming back. 🥘❤
Parking note: there’s usually space in the little side parking lot, but if not you can usually find parking across the main road on the street in the neighborhood and walk.

AMAZING all around. And importantly, they have vegetarian and gf options. The food was to die for. The service was lovely and if you are on holiday you can rent an apartment above the restaurant threw air bnb or call anf ask about it. I know where I'll be staying next time I'm adventure near this town!

Great space, service, and food! The Bloody Mary and margarita were great. The Benedicts were very well done as well. The cooks clearly know what they are doing. Definitely interested in coming back for dinner. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for an original, refreshing, organic vibe... great place with nice and friendly staff. Great food and really cool view from the back deck. If you like history, originality, with farm fresh great food this is the place. If you want cheap, processed food, and super fast food go somewhere else. Suzanne our waitress was fantastic!

Love the ambiance! The garage doors create such an outside inside experience. The food was excellent as well. Any place that has a section for only Eggs Benedict is ok with me! Go for the crab benedict! The Bloody Mary was great too. Highly recommend this gem for brunch! Would love to check it out for lunch/dinner.

What a cool spot! We had a wedding party of 20 and thankfully they squeezed us into a busy Friday night in June. We stopped by for lunch to check it out and were served very fresh and delicious food. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. For dinner our party ordered various cocktails and they were all very pleasantly surprised at the expertise and presentation of their special concoctions. Everyone was happy with their orders and loved the atmosphere.

Oh my gosh the new owners are awesome. They have decorated it uniquely, vey cute, and functional I just loved it. The tables and bar area have little hooks to hang your purse. That was so clever I was amazed. There's outside seating on the deck too. They have an espresso bar and I hear on June 22nd they will start serving breakfast; I can't wait to try it. The food was SO good. I ate lunch, ordered fish & chips, awesome. One friend had the Coal Miner- wow it's so good. She recommended to a gentleman that couldn't decide what to get. And after a few bites he told her she'd live to see another day. The other friend had the prime rib au jus sandwich with a sald; again too notch. We came back later and had to sit at the bar, which I'm glad we did, and I had to order more fries; I love the fries. Don't be fooled by the parking lot looking full. There's room so don't pass it by. ALSO they are remodling the upstairs for a bed & breakfast.. Can't wait!

Beautiful place. So many pretty details. We got to enjoy brunch on the amazing patio with the sun shining. Delicious food (carne asada breakfast burrito and French toast for the kid). Plus a grapefruit and blood orange mimosa (fabulous). Made me wish I lived here!

Incredible place. Food was amazing. I had the crawfish boil special. Employees were incredibly nice and quick even while being ridiculously busy. Would highly recommend dining here!!

Visited twice in the same weekend. Hands down, best fettuccini Alfredo I’ve had. Everyone was very happy with their meals.

Friendly staff and delicious food. This is a fine dining quality food in a casual atmosphere. Enjoyed draft beers and fried halibut. Wish we had room to enjoy the deserts they had on display. It was pricier than we expected, but worth it for the quality and uniqueness of the food. Goat cheese on brussel sprouts! Yummy.

Food is so BOMB! It's a worth it stop. Desserts are made fresh and always different.

This place was surprisingly good. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but the inside dining area is very nice. We started off with the clams which came with a great tasting dipping broth with just the right amount of garlic. My daughter had the braised short rib which was tender and marinated just right. I had the prime rib dip with truffle fries. The meat was seasoned well and texture was perfect. The bread paired with the prime rib was just as good. We finished off the meal with some peanut butter ice cream ordered from the display up front. I’d recommend this place and will definitely come back next time we are in the area.
