Ellensburg Public Library

Public libraries are the best. Anytime I start to lose faith in humanity I think to myself “well, we did create libraries” and this gives me comfort. The Ellensburg library is lovely, helpful staff, reference desk people are so great. Children’s section is cute and has so many storytime events and there seems to be consistent attendance.

Like every library, there are some homeless folks that find refuge here. That’s just part of it. Libraries’ doors are open, it’s part of why they are such a wonderful resource. From a parents perspective: I will say they do a good job keeping adults that are not accompanied by children out of the children’s section.

They have great bi-monthly (first and third Saturday every month) library sales, books cost a buck or two.

The selection is interesting, it’s not a huge library so it has a relatively limited selection but I am frequently pleasantly surprised by what shows up on that “new shelf”.

No late fees!

Clearly I’m biased, I love the library. But I think for our little cowboy town, this is a solid small town library. Thank you to the staff for all your work.

Love our local library. They are always thinking about the community and will have little events to bring the community together. Their staff is very helpful finding books and we love the little kid area. The stained glass everywhere is so beautiful too!

Great library with a nice selection and a very pleasant kids' corner. Lots of books (naturally), a little toy train set, some seating for the parents, and even a fairy tree.

Thats a jellyfish, you say? Well, we don't play identity politics around here. We go outside and clean up our community! Make each other smile! And kick kids arses in chess! Hooray!

A wonderful service to our community. A charming, comfortable, and spacious spot to hang out with my grandchildren, playing giant checkers and finding delightful books & movies to take home.

Helpful librarians of the most educated ilk! How could one not LOVE this place? Conscientious continuous recent title awareness & upgrades! Great working computer area. Large DVD/ video section, Comfy chairs, & international newspapers. Excellent, spacious kids area. Compassionate Overdue fine daily amnesty use policy. A Top social amenity in a tiny town. Ask about the monthly book "discards" sale for top book-buying value.

As the new king of ellensburg, I am leading by example and picking the trash up everywhere i go and helping where i can. I know its windy, so the trash is gonna happen. But right across the street from the library, trash is just collected in every other corner and curb. Getting cleaner by the day, though. Trust me.

This library is great for my kids to come and read, which they're doing now! It just sickens me that they promote people like Nancy Pelosi and others who have a history of hurting people. They have her book next to Malcom x's. They don't understand, but hopefully will someday. Margaret Sanger? Literal racist and eugenicist.

But the people here are great!

Know how I know? All the workers agreed that on their down time, they are going to all chip in and start picking up trash when they see it. Actually, the entire community has embraced this idea and have made me the king of ellensburg, for being such an inspiration! Lot of trash in this city to clean up, nonetheless. Dagbern wind. Love it though!

I would like you all to join me in celebration on Saturday, June 25 at the Ellensburg library for the cutting of the ribbon ceremony, key to the city ceremony and faculty meet and greet!

I love our Ellensburg Library it is the best!!! Today I was met by a very nice girl upon entering the library,I then purchased some used books, some paperback, some hardcover. It's always a great day when you visit the library in Ellensburg. Peace. Greg Jones

Ellensburg Public Library is a wonderful place to take kids, find good books and enjoy the love of reading. Our community is fortunate to have this amazing place in our midst!

Cozy library with very nice librarians. They have a decent movie selection as well as books. Enough computers for everyone to use. Great place overall. I see that they have a lot of events for little ones as well. I’m impressed!

Great library with a good selection, and you can get almost anything ordered through the Washington Anytime Library program (including audiobooks to your phone! with the Overdrive app). The only thing is that the anthropomorphic fox statue outside is super creepy - so much so that I only enter the side entrance to avoid it. Seriously, it's creepy.

Absolutely love the library. My son loves going through the toys, I find myself trying to get him to read more by finding books here.

Good selection of books, knowledgeable staff, and a quick and easy self scan checkout process.

This is a high quality library for a small town. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the hours of operation are reasonable.
