CoRo Coffee Room

CoRo is a very unique place. A very nice Cafe with very knowledgeable staff and a coop coffee roasting facility in the back, where you can watch the roasting and processing of the magic beans happen, right before your eyes. The feature some of the unique coffees that are roasted there and offer local baked goods, as well.

Smooth iced latte with black sesame. That's the special flavor here that you would like to try. The shop is busy but it has a good vibe that you can enjoy working and sipping your coffee.

This is among the best cappuccinos I've ever had. Darkly reddish brown, balanced taste and served hot. This is what a cappuccino should be. In addition I appreciate the ethos of CoRo as well as the ambiance of the space -- I came here to study and enjoyed my view of the roasting room through the big glass wall. They have a good amount of seating, but getting there earlier is better, as you'll also have less trouble finding free street parking outside. I also tried a slice of the vegan pumpkin loaf and loved it -- much fresher and spicier than the Starbuck's equivalent. I can't wait to go back!

Really good coffee and pastries! I really appreciated them heating up pastries for dining in. As any croissant enthusiast knows, a little heat makes all the difference!

So many different beans for sale. I think these are all their coffee members who roast at their facility? Very interesting business.

Street parking only but pretty easy to find a spot

Stumbled upon this place by accident. The cappuccino was amazing and very flavorful. Similarly, the matcha latte was enjoyable. The menu demands further investigation!

Excellent service, good coffees and pastries, all tender bathroom, nice location by Aquatic Park, inclusive staff, great peaceful environment, coffee roasting on site. Tables and bar seating.

Loved this coffee shop, friendly baristas, cute cups and amazing coffee. You can view the processing unit inside and enjoy a nice hot cup of coffee by the large street side windows or outside too. Our order was delayed due to come confusion and they gave us a complementary cup of coffee with sincere apologies.

I wish I had found this place sooner - it’s likely the best coffee shop in the east bay. Small but really nice space, amazing coffee, tasty pastries from starter and midwife + baker. I’ve been there a few times now and their drip, pourover, and espresso drinks have all been delicious. I also overhead that they do roasting and cupping classes, too :)

The espresso is so good that if you normally order a latte, you might find you can take/ prefer something stronger here.

Excellent hot chocolate. The employee came out to my table to ask what type of milk I wanted. I was able to get oat milk (no lactose) which I was glad they did. The coffee my had was very flavorful. But the sticky bun! Man that sticky bun was good. If I'm ever in the area again it will be a must stop.

Been going here for years. Awesome drinks and vibe and people. It's the first coffee shop I always recommend folks new to East Bay.

Classy coffee and vibes. What more you trying to get out of life? This spot has the beans, it has the baristas, all it needs is you. Come on over an order them CoRo coffee (or hot chocolate like me) and be satisfied on a crisp Bay Area morning. This be Berkeley vibes to the max. With them gender neutral pronouns and coffee roaster smell.

Great open airy decor. Cool vibe. Coffee is phenomenal..competes with any boutique cafe. And when they have SUBLIME Ghost Town Oat milk (small batch local) it outranks any place around! If you like Oatly, you’ll LOVE that oat milk - in a pink carton. The cafe is on a sweet little street in a residential are and is MUCH better than it looks on the outside as it’s next to a lame liquor store. Only negative is in summers the AC is cranking so being a sweater :)

This place has become one of my favorite coffee shops in the East Bay.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to go very often when I'm in the area because they open at 8a which is too late for me 😢 but I go whenever I have a later start and I never regret it!

I had a cappuccino and a croissant.

The croissant is extra buttery and flaky. The cappuccino is quite robust and flavorful. Strong espresso :-)

Our new favorite coffee shop in Berkeley! Great pastries and coffee, friendly and helpful staff, and a really nice place to work or hang out while you eat/drink.

I came here to get some work done. The chairs and benches are super comfortable. The staff is friendly. There's a lunch place literally next door. This is a great place to come if you need some peace and quiet to get work done.

Love this cafe and the people who work here! I always feel well attended to. The only note that I have is for those who have specific coffee bean preferences: this cafe uses some tart beans! I've gotten a pour over and macchiato forgetting this fact and always end up wishing I got a latte instead.

It is VERY rare to encounter staff as amazing as the coffee but that’s what you’ll find at CoRo. The drinks alone are the best I’ve ever had but the baristas are so sweet and fun I wish I could stay all day. Special tip: don’t change a thing except for your milk preference. The recipes are excellently crafted by excellent people.
