Pizzeria Portofino

The staff was super friendly and accommodating! We made dinner reservations for the wrong night, but they still made a table for us. They have Coke products. The pizza was delicious. Very fresh and tasty ingredients. The french fries at other tables looked great. I want to get them next time. It's right on the Chicago river. Beautiful views.

Went for restaurant week. They had a great lunch specials! Pepperoni pizza was so good. I didn’t care for the fig bruschetta but it was made well. I don’t think the flavor combo was for me. Waitress was very nice. Our water glasses never stayed empty. View of the city was so pretty. I’d recommend for a cute date night.

Wow! Wow! Wow! We loved our lunch at Pizzeria Portofino. Super charming atmosphere on the River. Be sure to call ahead and get a reservation if you would like an outdoor table. We sat in the lovely indoor seating area. Every drop of food and every drink was absolutely delicious. Great service. Our waitress even brought us a free dessert -noting that we were having a fun girls afternoon and she wanted to contribute to our enjoyment! I am definitely looking forward to dining at this great Chicago spot again! Oh! The Caeser salad was delicious, but it did not have croutons… I am wondering if this was an oversight or if it does not come with croutons?? I’ll find out next time!

If you're looking for an upscale atmosphere with food you'll actually enjoy, you found it! This restaurant transports you to the Italian Riveria from the moment you arrive at their doorstep or dock and carries that feeling and Mediterranean flavors throughout the experience consistently. The entry is clearly marked and lined with plants so you feel welcome and received even while you wait for the elevator down to the riverfront restaurant. The service, food and the ambience here easily rivals many Chicago restaurants with several Michelin stars under their belt. The design is rustic, the service is knowledgeable and efficient and the food is impeccable. Great place for a date night or celebration. The rustic dining room is nice and cozy, but if you prefer the city lights as a backdrop reserve a seat on the patio year round. I highly recommend the cesar salad, paramesan fries, spinach and feta pizza and the charred pepperoni pizza. My initial experience with Portofino Pizzeria was via DoorDash. I was impressed by the flavor, consistency, fresh ingredients and the fact that those assigned to deliver from this restaurant are much more professional and always deliver as instructed without needing assistance. This place is popular so don't forget to make a reservation.

I mean... wow. Definitely give this place a shot. Elevated dishes, excellent service, delicious drinks, amazing ambiance. So glad we decided to come here for our girl's dinner. Had such a fun time and thoroughly enjoyed everything. Wishing the portion sizes were a liiiiiittle bigger but honestly, nothing to complain about here! Try the lemon tiramisu!!!!!

We had Fried calamari as an appetizer and pizza with pepper honey as the main course. Everything was okay, nothing special. The place is so nice and has a beautiful view of the river Chicago walk, the service was so nice.

The food is AMAZING! We started off with garlic bread, and then we ordered different pizza topics (picture is half Hawaiian, half portofino). Shout out to Jaime who has EXCELLENT customer service! He was attentive and very professional. I definitely plan on coming back soon!

Definitely book a table before arriving! The food and atmosphere is amazing. Situated on the river with beautiful city views. There are indoor and terrace seating options. The food is incredible and includes some gluten-free options.

Had a great experience at this Pizzeria last night. The food was really good, loved that it’s right by the river, it was chilly out but they have a heated and enclosed balcony section. Service was very fast as well. Since it was our anniversary they surprised us with dessert ❤

right on the Chicago River with an amazing view, perfect for a date or a casual hangout with family and friends. hoping for a patio seat next time as it looks like having a see-through cover along with heaters so it might not be a problem to have a seat in cold months I guess. dim, warm light cozy vibe. we had a dinner reservation, but it looks like there were a few tables open for walk-ins. just don't know why they charge $5/person for reserving outdoor seat.

portuguese octopus is incredible – more on a tender side with a bit of chewy texture. we were so amazed by the companied potato so we ordered Crispy Parmesan Fries for more lol. definitely a win too! Special menu ravioli is decent. cocktails are solid with fair enough alcohol. you can feel all of the fresh ingredients. would love to come back if I get a chance.

Just speechless. I’ve been wanting to try this place with my boyfriend since we moved to chicago but it was hard to get reservations due to how busy it was. The wait DID NOT disappoint. The food was incredible, the taste was just unbelievable & not to mention the service was great. The waitress was so chill, and checked on us just enough but not to interrupt. Most of the time if I eat pasta or pizza I get super bloated & feel not well, but with this food I did not. I assume it’s due to the higher quality ingredients. We got the vodka pasta, truffle & margherita pizza, octopus, & dessert. The restaurant was super packed but we didn’t wait long for food at all. If you love Italian food, this is 10/10 restaurant, super worth the $ & will 100% go again.

Such good pizza and pasta!! Love their spritzes too. The best is sitting outside on a summer day, but this place has great vibes year-round.

Pizzeria Portofino exceeded my expectations. I had the Watermelon Splendido and the River North with a View and both cocktails were amazing. We had the crispy parmesan fries as an appetizer—highly recommend. As our main, we the had the charred pepperoni pizza, black truffle & three cheese pizza, and rigatoni vodka pasta. The pizza was phenomenal—thick and crispy but still soft enough that it was easy to chew. Definitely top 5 pizza I’ve ever had. There were four of us, and that was plenty of food with some leftovers. We sat by the water at night, and it was so pretty. Perfect date/dinner night spot.

Always was looking for a place for my Chicago trip that had delicious food and beside the waterfront. I came across this place and it was truly an amazing experience. We ordered the Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza, the Parmesan Fries, The Mediterranean salad and Rigatoni pasta. Everything was truly delicious and on point and made this trips worth everything.

We ate here a couple of times and had a very good experience. It’s in a really good location, right along the Chicago River. They have both indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. You can get there from the River Walk or they have a elevator at street level. The entire staff was really good. The hostess is really nice and had a table for us both times. Our waitress and waiter were terrific…great personality and attentive. They offer a good selection of food as well as a good selection of pizza and they have a full bar. Our meals were good!!! We went there without a reservation and were able to get seated both times

Absolutely loved this place! I've been wanting to go to this place for a very long time and let me tell you, it was worth the wait.

Everything we had was pretty damn good, especially that garlic bread...OMG! YUM!

The ambience was super cute and fun and the service was impeccable. I wished I remembered our waiter's name, he was amazing - total 5 star service.

We will definitely be going back for sure.

10/10 would recommend Pizzeria Portofino! My friend and I stopped by the restaurant for an early dinner and we loved everything about it! The restaurant was absolutely beautiful, the space opens up to the perfect view of the river. The food was delicious and a great price for the quality. Our waitress informed us that most of their menu is shareable! My friend and I got a couple of dishes and it was the perfect way to try several things!

If you’re going to choose one restaurant on the river, this is a good bet. Especially, because if you pay a couple of dollars you are guaranteed a table on the patio overlooking all of the water activity. We were seated immediately at our reservation time, and the service was excellent. We opted for a margarita pizza with the Mediterranean salad, as an appetizer for two. It was the perfect combination. I ordered the Bronzino fish, and I was astonished at how delicious it was. Definitely not expecting such wonderful freshness and flavors from a non-traditional seafood restaurant. This is not a quiet intimate atmosphere , so if you’re looking for that look elsewhere, it’s definitely lively and slightly on the loud side.

Love love love! Rigatoni and Charred Pepperoni pizza were impeccable. Also, you NEED the garlic bread, non negotiable.

Everything was amazing such a delightful treat i had a few drinks the best amaretto sour I've ever had and a amalfi spritz and the river north with a view cocktail..... for the vittles calamari, parm fries, Mediterranean salad, Pepperoni pizza, mushroom pizza* to die for*, vodka pasta, nutella cookies, and white chocolate profiteroles... a beautiful setting on the riverwalk i will definitely be returning
