SUPPORT FAMILY OWNED LOCAL BUSINESSES

Top of the line service, bike repairs, bike needs.
For as long as I can remember, my family and I come here for everything. We’ve purchased bikes (they have new and used and electric), supplies, had repairs, you name it. They have a large parking lot in the back.

The Pedaler is owned and staffed by fellow biking enthusiasts, who are always willing to share their knowledge and experience with the community. That willingness to share knowledge is really important to members of the cycling community who are dedicated to helping people, who by necessity are using bicycles as their principle means of transportation. The Pedaler stocks a wide array of what we need to keep our bikes under us and will help order the parts cyclists may need if The Pedaler doesn't stock a needed part. The Pedaler has a good stock of the things that are needed to support safe cycling, in the form of lights, helmets, locks, and high visibility, cycling specific clothes. The Pedaler has a large selection of bikes in stock at all times, geared to serving enthusiasts, whether on road or off. In addition, if a rider or potential rider wants to experiment with recumbent or e-bikes, The Pedaler is an excellent first stop.

Allow this writer plug for investing in safety: I was in a bike crash caused by a road hazard created by careless East Bay Municipal Utility Department workers. The crash occurred on dark, rainy morning, due to a literal pot hole the workers created in the street. The pot hole was partially obscured by a curve and was the result of workers having run out of asphalt needed to fully fill in a trench cutting across a curving street. At first glance, it looked like the trench was properly filled in. The hole was right at a point where one's attention is given to merging with high speed residential traffic. The severity of the crash was such that the brand name helmet I was wearing, purchased from The Pedaler, was cracked from the shell, all the way through the shock absorbent material. I was knocked out by the fall.

The helmet was destroyed in the course of doing its job.

I walked away from the crash, after some moments of recovery. Without the helmet, I would have sustained a severe head injury.

Before the reader leaves The Pedaler, make sure you have and use a helmet.

Stopped by at the beginning of a 40 mile plus ride because I was having an issue with my front derailleur. Josh, their lead mechanic, was kind enough to put me at the front of the line and get me back on the road. I highly recommend this shop; the staff are kind, helpful and go out of their way to make your experience pleasurable. Cheers, Dale R.

Amazing customer service!!! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Nobody had the bikes I wanted in stock, but The Pedaler came through for me. Awesome bike rack for my car and two great bikes. I highly recommend The Pedaler.

I called the store first to make sure they were open on July 3, 2023. I took my bike in for a flat repair. I was greeted immediately as I walked toward the counter. The new tire tube that was replaced has an updated air valve stem which is secured by a nut. I was so glad about this new design because it was a constant battle with the valve stem getting pushed in while filling the air and performing pressure checks. Anyway, I was in and out within 15 mins and that was a quick service

As an avid cyclist, I have shopped at The Pedaler for several years. I try and support many of the Local Bike Shops in my area, but when my preferred LBS closed up last year, The Pedaler became my Go-To shop. The level of customer service & the willingness to help me with custom builds is simply amazing. These folks have all kinds of bikes for all kinds of riders. They have an excellent Service Department as well. Highly recommended.

I had been interested in a Trek Roscoe 7 bicycle for a little while after learning about it. I wanted to pay extra for a non-Amazon cycle backed by local expert knowledge, sometimes paying more is worth it. After some scouring from the Trek website, they listed this bike shop as having two sizes potentially available and I called to confirm and Yan took a $400 credit hold to save the bike. They got really busy but Jeff responded to my email message and I drove to the location with my younger kid a little later. Kelsey reviewed what I was interested in and I settled with the ML Roscoe 7 with the light blue color and the bike was even made in Vietnam. I like how Trek has several manufacturing global locations and not just China. I have concerns about this economic race to the bottom that is happening in the USA, but that's all I will say on that topic. My kid picked out a few accessories and the inventory appeared plentiful unlike some other bike shops I had been to in other cities. Everyone I encountered including the guy assembling my bike (Ron), seemed to be deeply informed on their products which was great. In the end, thanks to Jeff being assertive, I ended up buying the bike and I am looking forward to future interactions with Jeff's team as my cycling needs require. Great!

Excellent service. Flexible negotiation and honesty in responses. The prices were unbeatable. I had previously purchased from the store and was considering not returning due to poor service, but now they have gained a new customer.

Camacho was super helpful in helping us pick our new beginner bikes, let us test it and even gave us good riding tips and posture advice. It was closing time and Camacho gave us all the patience and time to properly purchase and register the bike. I really appreciate having a reliable staff especially when I am going to invest in a good bike.

The Pedaler has been a biking staple for decades. Their customer service is excellent. Their staff listens to your concerns, is able to make parts recommendations in areas where you're able to make your own repairs, and has excellent repair staff when you need their services.

I cannot recommend this shop more and feel deeply grateful to have such a valuable store in the neighborhood.

I recently went to The Pedaler with my partner to get road bikes.

I haven't had a road bike before so I had a lot of questions and the staff (especially David) were extremely knowledgable and patient in explaining the pros and cons of different bikes/setups. I didn't feel like we were being "sold to" but more helped and guided to make the right decision which was such a welcome experience.

They let me test ride a couple of bikes and custom fit the bike I finally chose to buy.

The experience converted me from someone who typically buys from Craigslist to buying from a local shop for a number of reasons. I know that if there are any issues I can take the bike back to get it tuned up or switched for something else and that is such a relief when making a big purchase.

Great customer service 👏🏾👌🏾👍🏽! They educated me about so much from various price points and I test rode 4 hybrid bikes. I'm very satisfied with my choice and I'll be back for any other needs I may have in the future. They even helped me setup my bike rack on my car. Thanks guys 😊 I highly recommend this shop! They have everything 🚴🏾‍♀🚴🏾‍♀🚴🏾‍♀

I made my purchase back in June but forgot to review the store until now.

They have a great selection, and it's hard not to find a bike or accessories you'll be interested in.

I want to personally thank Will who assisted with my bike purchase, finding a helmet that fits, and also attaching my water bottle holder to the bike before it even left the shop, as well as doing a last minute checkup. Not only did Will do this efficiently, he is also very personable and friendly.

My boyfriend has been coming here for years and he always recommends it, and I've come to love it too. Check it out!

New local to the area. The Pedaler Bike shop is a great local bike shop. I brought my trek touring bike in for a tuneup and new handlebar tape. Very thorough tune up and found it had a busted headset. I now know how essential that component is and is often an overlooked and neglected essential part. Fortunately they checked it and now my bike is safe to ride! Great staff, fast service, and love the old Mechanic bank building the bike shop is in! The owner is great too. He's been there forever which is a testament of a good business!

I brought in an old steel framed mountain bike that I hadn't ridden since about 2001, but which I really love and was hoping to restore enough to ride again. I was concerned that any bike store I brought it to would make fun of how old school it is (bikes have changed a lot in 20 years) or say they don't think it's worth fixing (and go on to try to sell me a rig that - as a teacher - I can't afford right now). Instead, the mechanics at your store seemed genuinely excited to see it, and talked about how good the components were, and - amazingly - went into boxes of older parts that would work for me without costing me a huge sum, basically doing what was necessary to make the bike safe and fast again, but not selling me on stuff I don't need. I couldn't be happier with the result. The bike practically rides like it did when it was new. I'm so stoked to get back into the hills with this thing. Thank you so much for your work.

These guys are awesome. Good wrenching, honest and reliable bike mechanics. I’m always looking for ways to spend money and upgrade components, but the mechanic here said it was not necessary. I really do value honest and transparent work. I’ll definitely be back to support these guys.
