Laemmle Glendale

Incredible place! Such a hole-in-the-wall type theater, but it was comfortable, homey, and such a better deal than larger theaters. My group had the theater to ourselves, and I was able to fully appreciate the incredible sound and picture quality. I would definitely recommend this place, even for those skeptical to avoid hidden theaters such as this.

The best movie theater around! They play great smaller independent films, have yummy concessions like chicken tenders and pizza, the seats are comfortable and the workers are very nice! I can’t wait to come back!

Seats are comfortable and the theater offers $1 parking for 4 hours at a structure nearby located at 115 North Artsakh Avenue, Glendale. Just bring the parking ticket with you when you go to the movie and they’ll validate it.

Great local theatre for independent and foreign cinema. Went to go see Possession(1981) there last night. Great seats! Plus the St. Foley's Red Lager is really good. Veggie bites were super good too.

Comfy seats that recline... With lots of space between rows...Beer and wine available. Decent selection of beers.

Lovely clean theatre featuring art house films among others. Free parking nearby with validation. Very affordable matinees.

This is just a wonderful place to catch a movie. Laid back, clean, friendly, easy access, and very comfortable seating. I'm delighted I found it!

Clean, safe, comfortable movie-going experience! Really friendly and polite staff. One of my favorite small theaters in the L.A. area. And another HUGE plus: Super-easy, affordable parking!

A lovely Independent Theater conveniently located in Glendale. Ample pay parking just across the street however parking is free for those with handicap ♿ Comfortable seating. A good selection at the snack bar although prices are a bit higher than at a larger movie chain. Worth it for a good movie experience in a clean theater with helpful, friendly staff.

Now when it comes to the Laemmle...the Pasadena location was by far the staple of independent cinema in the area. The feel was nostalgic to anyone from the 90s and it was a historical pastime for art culture and independent film.

This location is not that. The best way to describe it would be...film school. If you went to film school, you will understand. From the exposed servers that are featured when you enter like working in a machine room or post production. The narrow hallway you walk down as you are looking for your theater and depending on the theater, it's just that. These theaters are smaller than the AMCs and Arclights...think screening rooms. It's nostalgic in a different way. Not bad. Just different...

Like a behind the scenes experience. Post production experience. Film school experience.

The staff is friendly, the popcorn good, prices are great. The soda selection is what you would expect as well as other snack options including wine and coffee, nachos and pretzels.

If you are a true lover of cinema, not necessarily the material around it...this is the place to go...You may get the whole theater to yourself. 5 stars just for that.

It's why I go there...and well...the one in Pasadena is closed...hope this helps.

Little bit small but it’s a Laemmle best place for independent cinema

Excellent (if small) theater. The largest of the 5 auditoriums isn't huge but is big enough. Pre-screening ads involve mostly music and text trivia with occasional "cinema history" type short pieces; no obnoxious ads for soda or cars. Once showtime started, no further ads, just 5 trailers (and 2 short Laemmle reels: turn off your phone, etc.). Picture and sound quality was fine. Prices are pretty cheap; under $10 per seat for a matinee. Parking is just down the street at the city parking structure, $1 for 4 hours with theater validation.

Five stars for keeping the faith and screening intelligent and rarefied films, and in clean and comfortable rooms. Seats are large and luxuriously squishy. The sound volume can be thudding and too loud in the front section, so best to choose the back section when picking your seat; the sound level is more tolerable there.

Nice theater with several screening rooms. More pleasant than many of the larger venues. Parking across the street is super easy to get to and isn't crazy expensive like that in many of the larger venues.

Total hole in the wall theatre, but it’s new so it’s super clean and fresh. The seats for the movie are ones that I’ve never used before, but are super comfortable! Basic popcorn and snacks with some beer and wine. Come and watch your favorite independent films and support a cool business!

Update (Nov 2021): Came back in town two years later and my premier card still works! Enjoyed a pretty hard to find indie movie here!

Really impressed that they've gotten such a nice theater in as small of a space as they did. Great prices and nice screening rooms. Of course, these aren't going to be the biggest screens, but for the size of the theater I was satisfied. They are certainly on par with screening rooms at theaters like the AMC Sunset 5. My only complaint was that I wanted something from concessions during the middle of a last showing, and I was unable to because the staff was cleaning up. I understand that this may be procedure, but it was a bit disappointing.

Excellent venue. Great premium seating, very comfortable, this makes the film ever better. Nice/fun place. Great place for art, international and documentary film. Love it.
