DIESEL, A Bookstore

Small Bookstore in a nice, quaint area. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I was there for a book signing event.

I love me a good bookshop! Diesel is tucked away in the Brentwood Country Mart, which is worth exploring in and of itself. Due to COVID you can't wander around the store, but the staff was useful in helping me find the book I was looking for. I recommend checking online before visiting to make sure the item you're looking for is in stock. Cool vibe and can't wait to check it out more post-COVID.

Wonderful book store. I purchased a signed copy of the book, Max Miller's Tasting History.

I thought it wasn't signed because I was stressing over a new baby we were about to have and totally missed it.

The support was very prompt in helping me figure out my mistake and very kind. Next time I'm in the area, I would love to stop by in person.

Great selection. I was there for an event and they made the place so comfy for the audience. The market is a beautiful place to visit and you can read a book in their sweet outdoor patio.

Finally a good and beautiful bookshop where book selection is obviously done by someone who loves books. Small but so far the best independent bookshop I have visited in L.A. Haven't bought anything but I'll be back guys. Keep up the good work!!!

The kind of place you look forward to going to a day in advance. Thoughtful, helpful staff. They look battered at the moment by people not wanting to indulge safety protocols. I'm so grateful for them & this place. Especially right now. Yes, you can buy books cheaper online sometimes. You can't stumble across a new book in a different genre the same way you can in real life or from the recommendation of one of the voracious readers that works there. I miss working next door. It was always an escape. Now its a treat. See you tomorrow.

So very helpful! I was looking for a specific book for my mother that she wanted. It was an esoteric spiritual book, but they looked it up and although they could not supply it they helped research it out and provided me options as to where we might find it. Really appreciated their assistance! That's why we love our independents: caring customer service!

I order books periodically from this store and their second location. Always have a great experience. During COVID lockdown, I had the opportunity to attend many of their virtual events which were engaging and a lot of fun. Highly recommend!

Local, well stocked, welcoming, and great and knowledgeable staff. Fantastic service to help when you are looking for something in the store or need guidance on a book category. And ordering something couldn't be easier. A favorite destintation where I find what I'm looking for as well as always a pleasant, unexpected surprise book or two.

Incredibly thoughtful array of history, fiction, art, fashion, culture, kids' books, science bestsellers and an erudite, charming, warm, patient staff.

They are the kings and queens of special orders and will stock up for your classroom or book club or party at a moment's notice.

Love the diverse writing talent they bring in for events.

They are the reason I have to say: long live independent bookstores.

knowledgeable, thoughtful staff, always great collection of books. the other day I bought three books as a present over the phone and it was waiting for me curbside beautifully wrapped. a unique treasure in today's world.

I try to buy all of the books I purchase from Diesel. Not only do they have a wonderful selection for a small bookstore, but they're happy to order any title they don't have in stock. The folks working at the store are friendly and know books! The small "country mart" the bookstore is located in is lots of fun to visit. If you feel strongly about books and/or reading, visit Diesel and more importantly, but from Diesel!

An independent bookstore inside the Brentwood Country Mart manages to have a wide variety of hardback and paperback books in its small but cozy store. The staff is very friendly and helpful in making suggestions of some of their more unusual books if you are seeking a gift. They have wonderful children's books and interesting items at the counter. Diesel also hosts evenings with authors and keeps you up-to-date if you sign up through email. It is heaven sent for booklovers and browsers alike. They validate parking too.

Decent prices, well organized for a small space, the staff are usually too busy behind the counter to make recommendations.
