InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown, an IHG Hotel

We stayed for three nights and had a great experience from start to finish. Reading other reviews, I see a lot of people complaining about the elevators so let me share why I really liked the way they worked. Yes, you have to take an elevator from the entrance to the 70th floor where the lobby is located and then a different elevator back down to your room. This means that it's way harder for random people to access room floors and we really liked that. There are so many elevators that we barely ever had to wait for one, and only a short time. But if you don't like going up to a lobby that overlooks LA all the way out to Santa Monica and the ocean before you can access your room then you probably won't like this place. Everyone working at this hotel was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The room was great and very clean. The only area where I could see some room for improvement is the food menu in the lobby bar and maybe find a way to elevate the breakfast experience. In particular, the bread and pastries, fruit, and sausages weren't that compelling to me. But overall, very minor things because there were plenty of other things to eat in the buffet.

We have stayed here multiple times but I felt compelled to write a review for our stay here (still staying as a guest as I write this) .. Maria at the front desk went above and beyond to ensure that my husband and I had the most amazing anniversary celebration. She honestly made our stay the best we’ve ever had since we’ve been coming here over the past two years. I highly recommend this hotel in all of Los Angeles. It is top-tier, and if there’s more people like Maria The world in hospitality would be a better place. We will surely be back to enjoy this wonderful place !!

What a great experience! My son and I were in town for an event and absolutely loved this hotel. The service provided from the moment I pulled up was prompt, professional, and polite. The room was everything I expected. The view from the rooft top bar was absolutely exceptional. Just FYI - check-in is on the 70th floor...that took me a minute to sort out.

It has really beautiful views especially from the 69th floor where I ate for lunch with my mom. The food is really fresh there. The gourmet chicken that I ordered there only cost 20 dollars or less. By my surprise, that chicken was completely fresh after being cooked for only 15 minutes. It is a new hotel but I didn't realize that until I ate the food there. I really appreciated how the waiter was doing with the food that me and my mom ordered there. I never doubted that he was going to get me and mom's food order the way that we wanted it to be. I only ate at this restaurant one time in my life before I made this review. I am 22 years old right now.

Beautiful views from the open air bar on top floor. The hotel rooms are simple, modern basic luxury. With the softest beds and finest toiletries. 360 degree views of LA from different places in the hotel. Felt very safe and secure. Hotel staff very friendly from top floor to valet.

This a wonderful hotel with amazing views from the 70th floor main hotel lobby as well as from our room on the 53rd floor. Staff is professional and empathetic. The only inconvenience is the logistics of getting from the room to the valet parking. You need to take the elevator up to the 70th floor and a different elevator back down to the lower lobby on the ground floor. Nevertheless a super hotel with many excellent dining choices on the premises. Tonight we are trying La Boucherie Steak house on th 71st floor. Would recommend this hotel.

One of my all time favorite hotel experiences! The views are incredible, the service is wonderful and the design is modern and luxurious. Having to take the elevator up to the 70th floor and down to the room every time is kind of annoying but getting a look at the view every time makes it worth it. Highly recommend and hope to come back soon

Beautiful new hotel tower with soaring views over the Hollywood sign, Griffith Observatory, west and northern directions of LA. We were a bit concerned about homelessness before we got there, due to its downtown location. However the whole area and surrounding streets were perfectly clean and safe feeling. We will definitely go back.

My wife and I had a great experience. We remember the fanciness of the room, room service quickly responding to requests, we really liked the lounge as well as the La Boucherie, and the workout room.

On a side note, I'm an accountant and to see PWC, Deloitte, E&Y, and KPMG's buildings in the financial district was fun.

Read the reviews and was a little skeptical. But the staff was so helpful of we had any questions or need. The views are awesome. Also you have restaurants right in the hotel if needed. Great location for the event we went to near there.

Stayed here for a couple nights for Valentines Day and accommodations were very romantic. A couple of guests were fighting with each other and for how loud and embarrassing a moment it was for them the staff was amazing on handling it.

Amazing hotel with huge stunning views of los Angeles from the tallest building on the west coast! Crazy that the lobby is on floor 70 and any access to the guest floors takes a transfer at the lobby! On a clear day i bet you could see miles of los Angeles all the way to the airport! Pool is outside and warm even in the evening and theres a huge extensive gym too! Rooms are just the best with materials and build quality! It even has a window from the bathroom to peer into the rest of the room like a hotel room in asia! Then again, the owners of Korean Air also own this building so maybe there was a standard set! Bartenders are really nice but check in personnel and invasive heavy security probably deter some people...

Wow, this place is sooo nice. My wife and I spent 4 nights here recently and it was amazing-balz. The lobby is on the 70th floor which was a little unusual but the elevators get you there quick. The check-in area is a tad cramped but the incredible views are a great distraction and there is plenty of seating for your party to wait while you check in or out.

Our room was on the 64th floor and on a corner which offered two great views. Room was modern, super clean, spacious, and had a trendy decor. Bottled water in our room at no charge and replaced daily.

Fitness room is not what you typically get at a hotel. It’s more like a full blown gym.

We had access to the hotel lounge which serves a hot breakfast, snacks during the day and fingers foods during the evening cocktail hours. Self serve craft drinks and a nice selection of beer and wine so you can get your drink on. The food quality in the lounge was good but not amazing …..except for the chocolate chip cookies which I ate too many of.

The staff we interacted with were kind, pleasant, helpful and very professional.

Loved the hotel and highly recommend the place but, I feel obligated to note one exception. The 200 grit toilet paper. I know, it’s a real head scratcher. 5-stars across the board but skimping on the TP?? Seriously, bring your own toilet paper or don’t do # deuce because their TP will hurt you like it’s mad at you. (You’re welcome.)

Lastly, I noticed a mini bar charge when reviewing my bill at checkout. I mentioned I didn’t take anything from the mini bar and pleasantly, with no questions asked, the front desk clerk promptly removed the charge and printed a new copy of the adjusted bill.

Quite frankly, this is, if I recall, the highest point in Los Angeles. The atmosphere and views overlooking DTLA was beautiful, the service and the bar looked amazing, with the Christmas tree and the figures dressing up this scenic view. Would recommend daily if I could, will definitely be back.

We did the club access level and what a great experience. This truly is a five-star hotel. We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton last time and definitely will not be going back there. The amenities were phenomenals

Definitely a great place to stay that is close to a lot of things. Super friendly and accommodating to guests and one of the best night sleeps that I have had in a Hotel. High tech rooms and extra secure in the area.
