I had a water pump installed in November 2022 that recently failed. The warranty was expired because it was just past the one year period. However, UP T&A got the parts dealer to still honor it. I didn't have to come out of pocket for anything!! That's how you do great business!!

First time coming here and I will definitely be back. Most places were booked out for weeks. UP got me on the books in two days. Had soft brake pedal and pulling to the left after I replaced my anti-lock brake control module. Had the truck fixed 30 minutes after dropping it off. No upsell or other nonsense, super friendly and price was very reasonable. I highly recommend UP Tire and Auto!

I have nothing but good things to say about this business. The front staff was kind and courteous, and didn't try selling me on anything I didn't want or need, and the mechanics were thorough and explained things in detail, as well as very accommodating without price gouging. Highly Recommended.

This place was seriously awesome. My car had multiple issues that all suddenly needed to be dealt with at once, but I’m new to the area & didn’t know a good shop around town. After reading some reviews, I called these guys, & Marissa (who was extremely patient, knowledgeable, & helpful) told me they were all booked up on appointments but that I could still drop my car off that afternoon, and they’d try to get to it.

Their mechanic had the issues figured out within 15 minutes of me dropping my car off, literally before my ride home could even pick me up. Marissa called the next morning to confirm that, after a full inspection, the mechanic was right. They had the car fixed & ready for me by noon that day. Now it practically drives like brand new.

Whole job easily could’ve taken a week & cost $1500+ at a dealership. These guys did it in less than 24 hours for half that price. I never leave reviews but holy cow, I ALWAYS have problems with shady mechanics & overpriced quotes, but not here. First time I’ve ever been 100% satisfied with a car repair. This place was great.

I wish I found this place sooner. Great price, courteous and professional service. Do yourself a favor and try them out.

For your classic cars, I would recommend Westside Automotive next door. They are knowledgeable, flexible, professional and do what it takes to get it right.

I absolutely love and trust this place! The communication and honesty is refreshing. I always had to bring my dad or brother cousin or some type of male figure in my life to get car care. Not with this business they treat you just like family. I constantly send anyone that I come across needing car advice or work done. I have been coming here for years and it just dawned on me that I have never wrote a review about this fantastic place. They have are always true and fair. So if you need an honest review from a normal person well here it is. From the moment I was introduced to this business from my sister friend I have never went anywhere else for my cars. Thank you for being attentive and kind. Good customer service is hard to find but here at this business you will get EXTRAORDINARY service. You just can’t go wrong coming here!!!!

These guys did awesome, we took it in for an oil leak they charged us just the part and the labor and did not charge the dignostic fee. We had our car back in 2 hours when they said they were not going to do it until tomorrow. I will be definitely using them again.

I had a tire with a slow leak. I took it to my normal mechanic and they couldn't find it and suggested taking it to a tire place and do a dunk test. I called up UP Tire and Auto and they were able to take me in next day. I took it in and waited maybe 15 minutes. Technician came back and said I'm good to go and the tire is all patched up. A few dollars later, I'm out of there. Awesome service. Thanks!

Been going here for years. Different ownership several times but still great service. Current employees are very friendly and accommodating. They are honest and like everywhere else had to raise their prices but the service is excellent!

I've had multiple cars here for different reasons from replacing the Rack and Pinion, power steering pump, axle repair, brake job, to a simple oil change or transmission fluid change... this shop is outstanding! They are honest and will tell you if things needs to be done right now for safety or if you can wait on certain repairs for another month or so. They diagnosed a problem on my Toyota Avalon that two Toyota dealerships couldn't diagnose (even after I paid a diagnostic fee) and I had to go back to Toyota and had them re-check. Toyota then apologized when they found the problem with a more experienced technician and told me that the issue should have been diagnosed in the first place. This only happened after I spoke to UP Tire and they told me the exact issue. Then another time, they went out of their way to make multiple repairs on an older car for my son and ended up closing late on a Friday (when I know we all like to go home early on a Friday) Thank You Marissa and the knowledgeable crew there! What a great shop to have in University Place!

I've been coming to UP Tire and Auto for about three years now. They have fair prices and do honest work.

By far the best auto shop I've been to in the Tacoma area. Very nice and professional mechanics who explain everything to you without being condescending, which is unfortunately rare. Very reasonable prices, too—I went in to get tires replaced and they charged half of what the Meineke down the road quoted me. Definitely recommend this shop!

I had a flat tire going to work this morning at 4am. A co-worker recommend me this place and called them to make sure if they welcomed walk-ins before going in. I talked to Adam and he was super kind to squeeze me in during their busy day. Good service, fixed my tire and didnt have to wait that long! I will definitely come back to them now!

We were in need of a mechanic to do an inspection of a low mileage Mazda we were considering buying from a used car dealership. The Mazda dealership was overbooked and after a series of referrals in the Tacoma area, we found this shop. The owners were both amazing as the wife worked with us to find time on a very busy day and the husband did a quick and efficient inspection that saved us thousands by finding serious suspension issues that had been covered up. Inspections such as these are easy for low integrity mechanics to make a quick buck off unsuspecting customers. But the service here was amazing and saved us from spending thousands (and all the headaches) in the future on a compromised car. It's very clear to me that this shop highly values their customers and I would not think twice about using them in the future.

Helpful, honest, and hard working. Marissa is great with follow ups and keeping you informed durring the process, they refuse to work with disreputable dealers even when it means more work/money for them. They we're incredibly patient with a difficult situation with a car dealership as we got our end worked out, my family has been using them for years and never a problem from their end, great prices too.

I love this shop. Adam the owner and Jeff, one of the mechanics are awesome people. Fair and honest place to bring your vehicle. They will tell you if there's future work that needs to be done with your vehicle yet not pressure you in any way. Highly, highly recommend.

Adam and Marissa and crew have been doing all of our car repairs and maintenance since 2011. They are honest and fair, and will let you know right away if anything is needed or changed when it's a repair. They have gone out of their way to fit me in many times when we have an emergency repair etc. We always recommend this shop to our friends because good honest mechanics can be hard to find. You won't be disappointed here.
