5 Star General Auto Repair

The Gentleman who owns the shop is a Vet & so very sweet. Very knowledgeable & approachable. Unfortunately I have had to go to other shops bc he hasn’t been open lately. So I’m not sure if he has retired or dealing with some medical issues. But if you get the pleasure to do business with him it would be hassle free.

I live in oregon and was in Lakewood visiting family when my check engine light came on. Knowing I had a 6 hour drive home in two days, and it was a holiday weekend, I had to put my trust in someone. Will fit me into his busy schedule, ran my diagnostics, took the time to explain everything to me, including recommendations for future maintenance. When I need work done on my vehicle, I will be bringing it back here to Will.

Driving south on I5 when suddenly our RV started squealing with brake and wheel bearing problems. We pulled into 5 Star General Auto Repair and the owner, Will, was able to diagnose and source the parts for our rare vehicle getting us back on the road in no time. This shop is great for it's size. Will is a fair and honest mechanic. When I go to 5 Star I feel like I'm not being ripped off. Will seems happy with his job and it shows. They are patient and will answer questions. I could go on all day. Either way this is a great shop.

They fixed our car in a super time and price friendly manner! Really happy with the results and would recommend this local shop over the chains. They also offered before and after pictures of our car starter for extra measure!

Will and Ernesto are both really good mechanics and changed my truck starter changed when it when out after I finished pumping gas. They also have done all my oil changes since 2015 because they carry AMS oil and are really fast. I trust these guys with my 1996 GMC any day.

Our trucks fuel pump went out the day I was released from giving birth to my son. Thankfully these guys were across the street and got the job done a bit later that day. We've since taken our GMC and Geo there and they've always been knowledgable, resourceful, informative, and polite.

I had problems with an alternator drive belt. Pulled in off the freeway and was fortunate enough to discover 5 Star. They went out of their way to fix my problem. I would highly recommend their Auto Repair. Thanks.
