Mandarin Lotus Fine Chinese Fusion Cuisine

Here visiting the area and really wanted some fresh vegetables and a healthy meal. I took one glance at the menu and knew I would find something. What I was not prepared for was an experience beyond my expectations. This is not your typical Chinese restaurant. Dan and Kim have created a cozy space where you feel at home, comfortable, and somehow also still fine dining. The service was phenomenal Kim greeted us promptly and seated us with a brief overview of their specialties. We ordered the Basil Taiwanese mixed vegetables and was not disappointed. The veggies were properly seasoned with a light sauce and served with rice. The flavors balanced well with the cabbage, broccoli, carrots, onions, beets, water chestnuts, squash and rice. I felt rejuvenated after finishing the plate. We also ordered the Strawberry Peach shrimp and again I was wowed. Never had I had such a complementary pair. We even joked maybe we should move to the neighborhood so we can come back. Definitely gonna have to return.

Visiting family for the week while travelling from Kenya, we decided to stop by after a late geocaching session. Upon entry, we were welcomed by the friendliest hostess who guided us through a menu that is a perfect mix of authentic and fusion cuisine. Each of us in our party of 4 was paired with a unique dish and accompanying drink- and they were spot on! You would fully understand why all the celebrity photos are mounted on the walls when the first meals arrive: proper fine dining quality presentation. We started with a soup, some spring rolls, ridiculously delicious rice and a mains, a perfectly brewed (fresh!) iced tea. Then had the best sesame-soy dessert that was a perfect balance of savoury and sweet. This honestly is one of the best places we've eaten at and we wish we could come back again (and again!).

This is a great little place for folks looking for not only great food but a ton of awesome vegan options too! There's entire sections of the menu to provide an array of non-meat options! Plant-based not your thing? No worries cause thier carnivore options are equally comprehensive and the owners are attentitive and sweet folks 😁

Words cannot capture the feeling one has when meeting the sweet couple who bring so much love, joy, creativity and care into each intersection. The food is unbelievable. Truly, cannot believe it until you see this creative menu. Then it comes out as an art piece and the taste transports you. I drive 1.5hrs each way every time to dine here and is the place to bring my most special friends and family to experience. Such a treasure.

I cannot rate this restaurant any higher! This was our first time and will not be our last. Hands down the best Chinese food I have had in my life. Far exceeded all expectations. Very nice people too. We ordered a bunch of food from all over the menu but the special holiday jumbo prawns was a favorite of us all. I am so happy to have leftovers too and excited to enjoy later! I had such a wonderful time here. Kim and Don are such amazing people. They care so much about their food as they brought us the incredible food here. I love their shrimp so much, they were very fresh and big shrimps, taste really good but I don’t know what it’s called. I told her I like shrimp and spicy and she chose the right menu for me! If I can give them more than 5 stars, it could be 10 stars or even more. They totally deserve it :D

Excellent family-run Chinese fusion restaurant. The menu features literally dozens of different vegan options. The owners are extremely kind and happy to accommodate any requests. The food is delicious and will leave you wanting more! Definitely stop here if you’re in the area.

Family run local Chinese restaurant with varied pan-Asian menu. Warm, friendly service by the owners, who guided us to dishes that suited our tastes. Far superior to typical neighborhood places. The chicken was moist, the vegetables were crisp and fresh, and the white garlic sauce added flavor without being overpowering. Definitely will return.

This place was a great find. The food was delicious. The staff was so helpful and friendly. They have a large menu. My waitresses inquired about what I liked. I informed her that I grew up with Asian neighbors and that I was used to homemade Asian food. She then said trust me I'll make you something good. She brought out the most delicious dish colossal shrimp with favors of turmeric and lemongrass with a side of white rice. They are also known for their vegan food.

At the risk of sounding hyperbolic, this is the best Asian Vegetarian/Vegan food in Los Angeles and environs....and possibly in the known universe. The care that Dan takes with his amazingly original recipes is astonishing. And his wife Kim, who does everything else, is the loveliest person imaginable. We have eaten here dozens of times, trying all the vegan things listed on the menu that I have never seen anywhere else and are always blown away. Its a new standard of excellence for vegan food!

The food was really fresh and delicious! The only thing the service was quite slow. Took us 20 min just to put it in the order. But it was worth the wait.

We are so thankful for Kim & Dan. They are an amazing team, beautiful people and make wonderful food. Our little family has been dining with them for 20 plus years. Always a pleasure to see them and enjoy their delicious treasures.

My wife and I loved every second of our experience at Mandarin Lotus. The food was delicious (we had the "Kelsey Grammer’s Orange Chicken" and the "Hawaiian Coconut Pineapple Tofu"). The owners Kim and Dan are genuinely nice and interesting people. We had an all-around great time, and we can't wait to go back!

We stumbled upon this place looking for a gluten free food. They were so knowledgeable in gluten free options and can offer most of the menu gluten free. The gentleman even showed us the GF labeled sauces and talked to us about the quality of the ingredients. Such sweet people!!!

Our go to place healthy , tasty chinese food . Yes it’s on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. My kids love it too and enjoy the soup, mango rolls , chicken dumpling , and top it all the service of Kim and her husband . Thank you for not comprising on the quality of ingredients that go into making your food .

One of my favorite restaurants and small businesses in the world, easily at the top of the list for Chinese and Chinese fusion. I have been a loyal Mandarin Lotus customer for many years. The food is always very well prepared, and the owners are truly wonderful people. My former coworker and I made it a weekly destination, and I now bring takeout home to my family. The menu seems long, but it's neatly divided by protein choice, plenty choices for vegetarian and gluten-free upon request. Don't miss Chang's signature creations; try my favorite, the southwest chicken with Argentinian sauce. The chef is also very open to custom orders if you have something in mind.
