Absolutely incredible time. Saw The Princess Bride there and loved it. A costume competition, original artwork on the movie, free inflatable swords and a green screen photo booth. PLUS a FREE chocolate coated miracle pill from Max. What a ride.

The Grand is a wonderful little local theater. There is a ramp for wheelchair users and a parking lot right next to the building. They offer many different movies over the month and events like family movie morning on Saturday. The staff are all knowledgeable and friendly. There are even programs like Tacoma Creates that offer free tickets for certain movies. During the Ghibli Movie event this past fall, my family and I were all able to see our favorites thanks to the Tacoma Creates program for students and SNAP recipients. Support your local theater and give this neighborhood gem a visit!

If you want a small, community based, old-fashioned movie theater, this is the spot for you. The Grand is a non-profit theater that offers first run, independent, and foreign films. The staff and volunteers are friendly and approachable. I recommend the Grand if you like theaters with personality. I find it delightful.

A wonderfully small and intimate movie theater - also happens to also be a nonprofit - that showcases independent and foreign movies. Each time I make it there I leave with the promise to do so more frequently. Just perfect!

Love this theater! Very nice people volunteer to keep this theater running. Have yourself a cappuccino next door at the delicious Corrina bakery and then see an independent film. Makes a relaxing afternoon!

I LOVE the Grand Cunema. It is my favorite theater and I drive from Seattle to Tacoma to go to it. It's a wonderful vibe, with the hollywood red curtains over the screens, which gives it the "old school" appeal to me. They have good pricing on tix and popcorn and because they show indie films as well as mainstream ones, they have a wider variety of showings. If I lived in Tacoma, I would volunteer and probably live at this place! Ha!

This is a great old theater converted into a movie theater. We saw a long movie and it was excellent. The chairs are not the most comfortable, but it's an old theater. It's amazing that this old gem is still in use. Definitely worth a try, parking is easy.

I love the Grand!! A gem in Tacoma, we are lucky to have this wonderful theatre. Always a great group of movies to be watched.

Staffed by the most amazing volunteers ever! We were provided free headphones which provided descriptive audio and also volume control for both the visually impaired and hard of hearing in our group. I was offered free coffee from the members lounge even though it was my first visit here and I am not even a member. Next time I will be sure to bring some cash for the donation box. Friendly environment, sparkling clean and very retro. I will definitely return.

The Grand is a gem in Tacoma's crown. We love coming here and supporting a local business. The volunteer staff are always kind and amicable, and the Grand really feels like a centerpiece of the community.

Best theater in the state of Washington? Yes, absolutely. Unbelievable staff and the best events. The films shown here are the greatest.

Rarely nowadays do independent theatres survive. But this one is loved by the community and we will not let it go. I try to go only here for all my movies. Pro tip: look at the membership perks.

Went to go see the Barbie movie here. It's small and the seats don't recline, but it was still very comfy. The volunteer staff were very friendly and the concessions were nice! The place itself is very cool looking. I look forward to attending a Weird Elephant event sometime in the future!

The Grand Cinema was amazing! Took my special education class for a field trip. They were incredibly accommodating and so kind. Thank you guys for having us! We had a blast! We will be back!! :)

Charming older theater with great variety of movies and friendly staff. We always enjoy going to The Grand, a true regional treasure. Clean facility with good ticket prices and comfortable seating. Yesterday we saw The Miracle Club, definitely a 5 star movie.
