VCA Los Altos Animal Hospital

Wonderful staff, techs, and doctors. Everyone was friendly and expressed genuine care for my dog. We're only paying a visit here in California, but I'd bring my pets here all the time if I lived here. Ample parking, super clean environment. And, they were playing good tunes in the lobby.

Scheduling an appointment for a first time visit was no problem. The staff and doctor were very kind and affectionate towards my dog. The hospital was very clean and well organized. I will continue to come back to VCA.

Dr. McBride has been amazing since our girl was a puppy! We love her! ❤

Staff here was all friendly. Dr Chu was awesome at taking the time to understand my dog's issues and needs providing thorough guidance. My own con is that compared to VCA visited last year (Marina Del Rey) the visit itself and same vaccine line items were ~40% more expensive. Perhaps this is inflation based, but not sure if pricing simply varies between VCA locations. All and all would recommend though.

I've been a customer of VCA Los Altos for a very long time. Dr. McBride is wonderful. A true cat person and always helps me to understand what's going on with my cats. I highly recommend this office.

Dr McBride is absolutely outstanding. I went with my sister in law and her two small dogs. I was very impressed with the knowledge, helpfulness and compassion of the staff and Doc. Highly recommend!

From the outside it doesn't look like much but inside it's great. My first impression was meeting another lady that has used this vet for over 20 years and loved it. Can't get a much better recommendation than that.
The staff and doctors were wonderful and I felt they took good care of me and my little pooch.

I want to first thank Dr. Caldwell for helping me process the death of my 4 year old Chihuahua, Bambi. VCA Los Altos and Dr. Caldwell provided excellent care during her short life. They are highly recommended.

The vets here are much more competent than the last place I went. They take the time to explain to me the different treatment options and the benefits and drawbacks of each.

The staff here are very friendly. They are accommodating and helpful with whatever services your pet needs. Prices are reasonable. Care quality is great, my dog is never upset when brought back to me. As long as I live in the area, this will remain my dog's vet.

I couldn't have been more blessed than when I went to Los Altos Animal Hospital yesterday 3/21/22 for my 19.5 year old cat Bonnie's first ever visit since her vaccines (Kitten). She was treated by Caldwell DVM, Elizabeth (wonderful and thorough care planning) and a group of caring gentle, loving, kind, thoughtful staff. The lead supervisor, veterinarian technician Ai is one in a million, Ai and her male assistant, technician Branden was so endearing and on point with all instructions and demonstrations on what I needed to do to assist Bonnie at home with all her care including
Fluid Administration of
Lactated Ringers (LRS) 1L/bag subcutaneously and Vitamin B12 subcutaneous injections to all her transdermal and oral meds. I'm an RN of 30 years and I know the care Bonnie received was unparallel to any vet visit I've ever experienced. The office was very busy indeed but Dr. Caldwell, all the staff involved in Bonnie's hands on care, never made us feel hurried and took the most gentlest approach with Bonnie, needless to say with me too. Thank you guys so very much for your compassion and gentle care for Bonnie in her convalescing, geriatric care. Having said all of the above I feel I must wholeheartedly recommend VCA Los Altos Animal Hospital.

Just so nice & very reasonably priced. Dr. Li is engaged...even when you're showing her pictures of your other pets ;) Front desk staff is friendly & very helpful. I felt comfortable leaving my precious package with these wonderful people & I will be going back.

Absolutely love this place. I was worried as to where to take my pitbull mix and Dr. Emily has gone above and beyond to help her. Cookie has several issues that has led to surgery and our doctor has been available to us 24/7 through phone. Very convenient and flexible hours.

They are amazing! We brought in a community cat with a severe left paw injury. Amputation was needed and the original quote they gave us was way more than we could afford. The other option was to put him down. We just didn't have the money to make it happen, my partner and I were in tears. The doctor asked us to wait a minute while she spoke with the medical director. She came back and quoted us a price with a significant reduction, basically just covering their expenses. We were able to put this unexpected expense on our credit card and the community cat known as Bootsy was saved, he now is known in the neighborhood as Tipsy Boots. He gets around just fine on three legs, he is still a part of the community and a daily diner on our porch. The entire VCA Los Altos team pitched in to get him back to health, everyone went out of their way! We are externally grateful for their compassion and care. They are now our only choice for our animal's care and we have a lot of animals.

This is the best place to bring a pet. My grandson and I brought our new little Jack Russell for her first exam and it was great. The staff was warmly welcoming and took an interest in our puppy. The vet was excellent as was the support staff. We brought her in again for her second visit and it went so well. We had a different vet this time and were very pleased with him, also, Dr. Ameti. They discovered a small problem, called and had meds ready to pick up. They also called after the first visit to see how Shasta was. It shows their interest in the pet's health. I have 2 Cairn terriers aged 7 and 8 and I intend to take them in for their health visits. I am so happy to have VCA Los Altos Animal Hospital for my pets and would recommend it highly to anyone looking for care for their animals.

They healed my Lulu after 'Primary Care Animal Hospital' NEGLIGENTLY had a Tech instead of their veterinarian, extract some teeth.
'Primary Care' left a root that was clearly visible in the X-ray.
Don't go there, ever!
'Primary Care Animal Hospital's' negligence caused her to lose another tooth.
Shame on Primary Care Animal Hospital.never going to them again.

VCA ANIMAL HOSPITAL is now my Lulu's veterinarian.

I was skeptical at first, but the staff are excellent.. I had an appointment for a later time but arrived super early. They took me in right away even though I was informed I may have to wait until my scheduled appt. Jessica, the assistant (?) Was really sweet and helplful. Dr. Ameti, loved him. HeS not a "bs tell me what I wanna hear" type of doc. He was straightforward with me about my leroy and his condition. As well as gentle. This may be the place I go back to for all of my cats needs.
