Five stars across the board. One of the best meals/nights out I’ve had in a while.
We dug into the steak, bone marrow and sides so fast, I forgot to take a picture. And the Hamachi Shooters are totally bomb. Even the bread with three butter options and the macaroni and cheese were so yummy.
We sat in the bar with a pretty large party and were really well taken care of by Susie. All her drinks are great but the Bees Knees was delish!

Celebrated my girlfriend's birthday here with 6 courses chef's tasting menu and I must say, no disappointment from all of them! We enjoyed every single dishes, the way the chef prepared and presented the meal was outstanding! The very first course Hamachi shot took my breath away already. Live how the chef did with the pork belly and steak was cooked beautifully!
Our waiter Moricio was superb!
Thank you for the birthday card, complimentary champagne and birthday cake!!

Not just one of Pasadena’s best steakhouses but the best steak restaurant in Los Angeles. If you are true steak lover and a foodie you must try Alexander’s. The staff is amazing. We had at least 10 different staff members that either greeted or provided us with service from the moment we arrive until we left. It definitely felt like a warm fine dining experience. The food…where do I start. My taste buds was dancing the entire meal. Lol. The food presentations are definitely instagram worthy. The ambiance is sophisticated and sexy. Perfect for a date night and or any other special occasion. There is street and garage parking. #pasadenadining #dinela #dinepasadena #losangelessteakhouse #steakhousepasadena #finedining

This was the BEST dinning experience I’ve ever had! I came here with my fiancé for my birthday. We were taken to our table, and the restaurant had a birthday card waiting for me and served us champagne! It was such an unexpected and lovely touch! The drinks were amazing, the staff were incredibly attentive and polished, the atmosphere was just gorgeous-think modern, high end Japanese/American aesthetic. And the food was perfection!! We ordered the Porterhouse, Mac and cheese and KFC (cauliflower). The porterhouse was one of the best cuts of meat we’ve ever had. For dessert, we had cotton candy and cheesecake. It could not have been more perfect. If you come here, you should be expecting an expensive night out, but you get what you pay for and this was worth it. Especially to celebrate a special occasion or for a romantic dinner-I would highly recommend coming here!

We came here as a party of 10 and all chose the Chef's Tasting Menu at $150 (wagyu steak option). If you don't want to try the wagyu, then you can choose the hanger steak instead for $130. One of our friend in our group did not want to participate in the Chef's Tasting Menu because she does not like seafood so the seafood dishes were replaced with chicken. The chef was accommodating to our group. Our group was seated in a private room with room capacity of 17. The waiters were all friendly. The ambience was quiet and modern. The complimentary breads and whipped butter were a great start. You can ask for refills, but don't eat too much of it because you can get really full by the time they serve your entree. Every dishes on the Chef's Tasting Menu was good and unique. The wagyu was good, would have like it more if it was more tender and less chewy. We were celebrating birthdays and wedding anniversaries so some of us received complimentary dark chocolate cake and pink cotton candy. The dinner took about 2.5 hours to complete, which we didn't mind because it allowed us to talk with one another since it is hard to get together.

Came here to check out their chef tasting menu or their “omakase,” and wow, I was very impressed! The menu was very well balanced and Japanese inspired which I loved! Our server/sommelier Frederic was amazing and super knowledgeable about the entire menu along with the wine pairings! Some of the highlights food-wise were the pork kakuni, the lobster tortellini, and the A5 Miyazaki with the shaved black winter truffles! I will definitely be back here for more!

Was a little more than what I wanted to spend but since I wasn't paying, it was perfect. The blackened rib eye steak is phenomenal and the hamachi shots was an amazing way to start the meal. The prime rib was ok but probably because it cooled down to quick due to the outdoor dining. And it was ample for 2 meals. We also ordered the crab fried rice because I'm Asian and there was ample crab and lap Cheung aka Chinese sausage. Personally, it's currently my favorite steak house and can't wait to come again.

Modern and amazing service. Nice to go into a top steakhouse and not feel like I am 90 and sitting in my grandpas dining room. This place has windows so again you don't feel like eating in the basement of your grandparents house. Yes there are some steak houses that have plenty of windows but they don't have the modern interior look of this place. And yes the food matches the interior ambiance and energy. It will set you back but well worth it. The fried rice is actually really good btw.

Alexander’s is by far my favorite steakhouse in the United States. Their selection of flavorful, well prepared steaks and high grade A5 wagyu make it a true culinary experience. Michelin star chef Florent Courriol will turn you into a steak aficionado if you weren’t one already!

The wagyu toast was like a surf and turf lobster roll. Perfectly toasted and buttered roll that I would guess was baked that day, the bread being one of the most overlooked parts of a lobster roll. Topped with fatty, flavorful wagyu and the freshest uni (sea urchin sex organ) I’ve had in my life. This was an unexpected favorite.

The hamachi shots are impossible to describe. Fresh raw yellowtail with a perfect combination of jalapeno, avocado, ginger, lime juice and truffled ponzu sauce. The flavors are spectacular, making for the perfect start every visit to Alexander’s. Definitely on the must-order list.

The A5 olive wagyu (rarest steak in the world was tender and full of flavor from the olives fed to the cow. Only 2000 Koruge Washu cows exist in the world, all in the Kagawa Prefecture of Japan. Trying this beef has been on my bucket list for a while and it really is the best steak I have ever tasted.

The A5 Miyazakigyu (wagyu filet mignon) was my second favorite. Not as fatty as the New York cut but insanely tender. I need to research this beef more and come back for a full write up.

The A5 Hokkaido wagyu (snow beef) came in third place for me, but did not disappoint in the least bit. Not as tender as the others but fatty and delicious. Hokkaido wagyu gets its nickname, snow beef, from the elevation at which the cows are raised. In the cold mountains of the island of Hokkaido, Kuroge Black cows are fed sweet corn and don very thick coats which encourage even distribution of fat, leading to near perfect marbling.

The Flannery 30 day aged ribeye with bearnaise was a hearty addition to the table. The flavor from the aging process was incredible. Fat was rendered spectacularly and not lacking in the least bit. This was definitely a dish to share or prepare to take leftovers home.

The bone marrow add on is a necessity. Paired with the steaks it adds a deep fatty beefy flavor with a perfect soft texture.

The pannacotta was delicious, with sweet crumbles and a small serving of rich banana ice cream. Another must have if you manage to save space.

At the end, they always bring you fresh made cotton candy on the house. I’m not a fan of cotton candy but it’s a nice touch and everyone I’ve been with loves it. They also brought us multiple round of champagne on the house. Overall, Alexander’s is an experience every foodie needs to indulge in at some point. From the moment you sit down to the moment you leave you’ll be immersed in a steakhouse experience like no other.

Definitely the best steak and steakhouse in Pasadena. Parking is extremely easy as they offer validated parking in the underground structure right next to the restaurant (parking for the Westin hotel as well). Inside is designed just like a traditional, dimly lit, East Coast style steakhouse and they have the food quality and service to back it up as well. Fabian was a great server and so was the rest of the team that I encountered.

I started off the meal with the Hamachi Shots which I was recommended to by many people. It’s also on the chef’s tasting menu so that shows that the kitchen backs it as well. It was so delicious I had to order 3. A great start to the meal and the perfect way to get your pallet ready for the entree. For that I chose the 8oz Filet Mignon with a side of bone marrow to mix both bites. DELICIOUS! A must do. The steak was cooked well and had a nice sear to it. For the side I chose the broccoli di ceccio which was a really nice side to the steak, the pecorino made it almost sweet. Finally for the dessert I chose the banana bourbon panna cotta and it too was wonderful. The flavor combo was a perfect end to the meal.

Overall a delicious meal and one of my top 5 favorite steakhouses in LA. I would recommend to anyone on any occasion it will be a nice meal no matter what day or time you book reservations.

I’ll keep it short and simple. 10/10 restaurant from the bread to the appetizers to the entrée to the desert. Jayse was the best server ever, he made us feel comfortable immediately. Thank you Jayse really. I highly recommend anyone who’s thinking of having a nice dinner at Alexander’s, GO, don’t think twice. First timers and we will definitely be back. Recommend the shots, prawn, any Wagyu steak, asparagus and the cheese cake.

The service is impeccable. The staff is polite, friendly and funny. Very well dressed too.

The food is incredible. We ordered oysters, steaks, with sides of truffle fries and udon mac and cheese. Pictured is the Kansas City and ribeye chop steaks. Both were very tender and flavorful. Wife added a side of bone marrow for $12 and that just made the steak even better. Even the bread and butter provided was exquisite. Highly recommend this steakhouse!

We came for my wife's birthday and were given complimentary champagne, cotton candy, and cake.

2022 Summer updates. New bar menu & social hours special!

Updates:
Still one of my fav bars in all of LA. Less stuffy than the main dining area and they got the best bartenders in town! Rob & Susie created crafty cocktails with seasonal ingredients and can perfect any old school classics! Food wise, same menu as the main restaurant (no social hours yet), I recommend the little gems salad, truffle fries, & "crack" fried rice, if you don’t want to order the yummy steaks. Also…See if they have the housemade chocolate cookies! One of the best I ever had!

—-
They got lovely outdoor dining setup for distancing dining!

I love their bar. Got “social hours” & a friendly bar food menu. Restaurant side has a fancy vibe, the bar is much warmer & more smart casual.
Steak is amazing! I love their Soufflé, fries, bread plate with 3 types of butter (complimentary), burger, crab fried rice side dish, hamachi shots, shishito peppers. My latest favorite is their wagyu beef tartare!
