I feel more at ease taking my cats to an office that specializes in only cats. The Vet, Dr Blair, is kind and thorough and my cats were comfortable and relaxed with her. The vet techs have also all been sweet and gentle. My 2 cats, 1 senior and 1 adult, have had dental work, blood work and exams here.

They know how to be purrrfect!

When my cat of 20 years died, the Vet called me to tell me how sorry she was. That was very sweet.

I appreciated that.

Edit as of 4/22: Needed a couple emergency-ish visits for my old man cat over the last couple of weeks, and wanted to edit my review to reflect how, despite the challenges presented by Pandemic2020, the team here absolutely maintained their usual high-quality service. Felt VERY safe with the precautions they took, and my little dude is already on the mend.

I always swear I'm going to review this place; they definitely deserve it. Great clinic all around. Dr. Blair is fantastic with my ancient cat and is always extra cautious with him, which I super appreciate. The techs are all very, very patient (special shout out to Oscar, who tolerates my cat's irrational loathing with far more kindness that my cat probably deserves) and professional. Reception staff is also fantastic and helpful with scheduling, etc. I've always had great experiences with vets, but these guys really stand out as something special! Definitely echoing what other reviews have said about prices being fair, too. Highly recommended.

The staff was friendly and really seemed to care about their jobs. One of my cats has severe anxiety and the quiet environment dedicated only to cats seemed to keep him at ease. Usually at a vet visit there are all kinds of different animal smells and barking dogs that scare him but he seemed less frightened. The cost was comparable to other vet visits, maybe slightly more, but the cat only environment made the cost worth it in my opinion. I will be taking my cats back there in the future.

We love this vet so much, as do Paul, Turkey and Üter! Dr. Blair is so kind, gentle and knowledgable. She and the whole staff are very patient with the sometimes (who am I kidding, mostly) difficult Paul Perry. I believe it is important for your pets to be as comfortable as possible at the vet and, with cats, it can really help to have a very cat positive vet and calm waiting room and T.H.E. Cat Hospital really provides this.

We absolutely love Dr. Blair. We've been bringing our kitty here since he was 6 months. He is now 11. The staff is very caring, the facility is wonderfully designed for cats, and we always leave feeling well cared for.

We have had two visits to this place and both have been nothing but stellar. The place is clean and quiet, the cats are treated with such care, and the doctors are thorough in their explanations and offer help in every way they can.

My first visit was with Dr. Elston. My cat had been very sick and another vet had found a mass on his abdomen, so we took him here to see if they could check him out. Upon meeting Dr. Elston, I felt immediately at ease. He was a calming presence for both me and my cat, he took time to explain everything he felt, everything he noticed with my cat, and the possible causes of the mass. I walked away understanding more of what my cat was feeling and things I could do to improve his quality of life while we waited for the chance to get an ultrasound.

Unfortunately, to no fault of T.H.E Cat Hospital, his condition was not improving. He was barely eating, losing weight rapidly, and deteriorating more quickly than anyone could really do anything about. This morning, it was decided that my cat needed to be brought in again to discuss options because we were starting to wonder if the stress on him of more doctor visits for an ultrasound was worth it, considering how bad he was getting. We weren’t sure how much longer he had left and we knew he needed to be seen quickly. One of the first things that amazed me today was how accommodating they were. We didn't have an appointment and they were booked all day, but they told us that they would see him 30 minutes after they closed without us even asking if that was possible. It truly made me feel like they wanted to help.

This time, I had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Blair, who looked over my cat and was, once again, a very calming presence for everyone. She concluded that it was likely some type of aggressive cancer. After this, she spent a long time going over the possible treatments. She explained every single option that we had in detail, answered all of our questions thoroughly, and gave us plenty of time to discuss what we were going to do (reminder: they were already closed at this point and there was not a single second I felt rushed to get out of there). We eventually had to come to the heartbreaking decision to have him euthanized.

This process is difficult, as I'm sure anyone can imagine. However, Dr. Blair walked us through every single step so that we understood every second of what was going to happen. She told us what to expect, what we could do during it, explained all the choices we could make, and did it all with such a kind and gentle approach. The empathy she displayed for us in such a hard situation was comforting. It wasn't a few "I'm sorry"s and a pat on the shoulder. It felt real, it felt like we had her full attention, and it felt like she truly wanted to help make the process as easy as possible for us and for the cat. That's something I won't forget. I was heartbroken, but me and my cat felt safe and at peace as he passed.

This is a sad ending, but I feel that it's important to explain how this place made a devastating time as easy and as comfortable as possible.

If you are looking for a doctor that will answer your every questions, have compassion for whatever situation you and your cat are in, and will give you the care you deserve, this is the place for you.

I love Dr. Blair, the front office staff, and the vet techs including Oscar. Everyone at the hospital feels like family. They take great care of my cat, always provide practical options, and they are always willing to go the extra mile for us.

They have a really great interface on their website, making it easy to find information. During COVID, had to call to make an appointment, but it was very easy to do so. The staff is very responsive, the facilities are very clean, and even during COVID, the pickup/drop off process was a breeze. The services might be pricier than other places, but the quality is reflective of that. Your cat gets to be in a cat-only office, and you interact with very professional staff and a vet on top of her game. We have no problems bringing our kitty back here even though we've moved much farther away.

I love T.H.E. Cat Hospital. I have been bringing my cat Jessie here for years. Dr.Blair is wonderful, calm, and caring. Even though Jessie is very shy she likes Dr.Blair.
Jessie had a urinary tract infection recently and with treatment and a change in diet she is just fine. I always ask a lot of questions and Dr.Blair takes time to answer them. I feel like Jessie gets the best care and the entire staff is very warm and professional. I also get her teeth cleaned non anestetically here.

Always there for us! Missy has always been a problem patient, and she doesn’t bite them, so that means she likes them! They are so knowledgeable and the office is so Clean and beautiful! They are very thorough and do her nail and check for fleas and don’t ask for money... They checked her teeth last time, and found a fractured tooth... Very nice of them! I recommend them highly!

Dr. Blair saw our sickly kitten and not only gave us the right meds for him to get better but she had a great bedside manner and was very easy to talk to, not rushing through our visit what-so-ever. Blair was awesome, so was the nurse and the woman at the front desk was informed, friendly and helpful. Thanks guys!

Dr. Blair is so incredible. She checked in and was so helpful and supportive. They took such great care of my cat!! The cost of everything was reasonable because of the nature of my cat's needs. Strongly recommend T.H.E. Cat Hospotal

Very receptive and friendly, as well as extremely comprehensive as far as feline-specific veterinary care goes. They will be the vets I trust with my bonded pair of two year old cats and my 6 month old kitten for the rest of their lives.

My wife and I would like to thank everyone at The Cat Hospital after seeing our cat Summer in late February. Summer had high bilirubin and jaundice for almost a year. We had been going to another vet and after many tests and visits they couldn't come to a proper conclusion. Summer had taken a turn for the worst and we thought we would get one more opinion before making the difficult decision. (We even had ordered an Urn and gone down that dark rabbit hole of emotions) A special thank you to the substitute Vet while Dr. Elston was out of the office. She examined and prescribed medication that seemed to really help Summer. And a special thank you to Dr. Elston for reviewing all of Summer's records and spending time with me on the phone as I went through everything that I thought could be the problem. He was kind, patient, and persistent that her results pointed to toxins. So my wife and I racked our brains and our apartment and concluded it must be this "Gasteria" succulent that while some websites declare it to be safe, it is part of the Aloe family. Sure enough after riding our place of the plant and giving her the medications she has recovered. We only wish we had found this vet the first go round. Regardless, thank you again!!

My 14 year old female cat, Charlie, was diagnosed with CKD Stage 2 in Dec 2018, from a different vet. The vet told me to put her on RX canned food and come back in 6 months for bloodwork.

I was freaking out and upset with the info (rightly so) and could not contact the vet, except by leaving a phone message. No email or website to this vet’s office.

In my search for more info, and the best care for my cat, the CAT Hospital kept popping up in searches and reviews. After looking at their website I decided to make an appointment in January 2019 so I could get further info about my cat’s chronic kidney disease (CKD).

I called them and spoke to LISA. I had a lot of questions and explained that my cat had bloodwork from a previous vet’s office and could she get that from the previous vet, instead of having to get blood work drawn again. She said that was not a problem and got my old vet’s info. She was very patient and thorough and I really appreciated her time and professionalism. Appointment was set for Jan. 14, 2019.

When I arrived to my appt, I filled some quick forms and was seen shortly after by DR. BLAIR. Thankfully they received the bloodwork and urinalysis from my previous vet and I explained to Dr. Blair that I was aware that my cat had CKD but I needed to know more! She happily took the time to explain and break down Charlie’s bloodwork levels and what it meant and what I needed to do to give my Charlie the longest and most comfortable quality of life.

Dr. Blair was so kind and patient and pulled out the bloodwork results (which my previous vet had never shown or given me) and explained all the levels that were too high or too low and what needed to be done.

She didn’t recommend or push any medications on my cat at that time. Charlie had lost a pound since her vet appt in Dec and the main concern was getting her to eat and not lose more weight. Dr. Blair really listened and answered any and all questions I had regarding CKD.

When I was checking out we set up a weight check, to make sure that my Charlie girl wasn’t continuing to lose more weight.

Since leaving my Jan 14th appt, I’ve had some concerns with Charlie’s appetite and bowel movements. I emailed the practice about my concerns and ALIKA responded promptly and addressed all my questions. Then I continued to bug her to see if she could email me the bloodwork that they had gotten from previous vet. Not only did she email me the Dec bloodwork, but she emailed me everything else (previous years of bloodwork and labs) that they had received from the prior vet. She also forwarded my emails to Dr. Blair about some questions I had and Dr. Blair responded promptly.

My weight recheck is this Friday (2/15/19) but after doing more research on CKD, I called to change the weight recheck (which would be done by a vet tech) into an appointment. I was able to change it into an appointment with Dr. Blair.

Currently I am very happy with the care and professionalism that I and my cat, Charlie, have received. If anything changes, I will definitely update my post.

My wife did some research on the world wide web. What she found was the place THE Cat hospital in sunny socal city MDR. First, let me say thos review migjt take a while so better be sitting in a chair with something to eat while the story is being told. Now it was a pleasant experience, I cant tell you how nice it was knowing this was an all cat hospital. And that concludes my review of the cat hospital. I think there is a Subway sandwich shop next to the cat hospital. Parking lot pretty cool my car didn't get broken in to.. In my book thats a plus. All i have to say is dont go to Bakersfield CA on white st. The subway i got robbed but this one coo.
