Select Beer Store

There is a local welcome vibe to this establishment. Well stocked with an arsenal of elixirs of all delights. Found several warm conversations willing to share their knowledge and experiences about the details of the craft. Suggest to always keep your eyes looking for the ever revolving product lines, you may have had them all ~ but then you find a triple that just knocks your sox off, there is the yearly release of El Segundo PowerPlant, YEEHAW have you tried the Nuclear (hope you didn't read this post late, you'll have to wait until the next year). This reminds me of working on a machine that I had taken apart, three hours no less and I was just finishing when I was left with one screw, one darn screw. Thinking back, should I have slowed down, should I have taken notes, what could I have done differently ~ well nothing really, I had a great learning experience and the darn thing didn't fail, so I say... Select Beer Store to do just that, Select a Beer at a Store and enjoy the moments.

My favorite beer store of all time! So many beers and not just the usual suspects, they get new beers to try all the time and not just from their amazing tap. Wes and his staff do a fantastic job and any beer lover would be smart to stop by an enjoy a pint while looking at all the amazing bottled and canned beer they have in stock. I absolutely love this place and recommend it!

This is a review for the Dragon Wagon pop up food tent outside the Select Beer store. I tried the Chicken sandwich & all 3 versions of the empanadas. The sandwich was one of the best pieces of fried chicken i've had in a very long time. Crisp on the outside, soft & juicy on the inside. The slaw & dragon sauce was a nice top off for it. The beef, chicken & veggie empanadas were quite good to. Just enough seasoning for flavor, moist with a crisp exterior.

If you love beer, this place loves you. First place I ever tried Ovila and I can't thank them enough. The Belgians they have in the fridges are top notch. Patio dog friendly too!

Nice place with pretty nice selection of beers on tap (10-13 positions) and wide range of bottles to take with you. Tables outside are available.
Go here take a drink inside and grab a few local bottles for later.
If I wish more I'd ask for having prices to be displayed for cans/bottles in fridge - now it's just a guessing game :)

Always a fan of dropping in at Select. Wes has a great variety of beers and always at least a decent tap list.

Parking can be pretty hard to find.

Always scope out the fridge for some tasty singles and some delicious sours towards the back.

Great place for drinking on site or picking up something to go. Large and continually updated selection with some very rare beers at times.
No televisions, just good seating indoor and out, and good people to talk with.

Great selection of local craft beer, domestic oddities, and excellent imports. Taps are always stocked with interesting craft beer. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and can help you pick out a mixed six to go or something to tide you over while your SO looks at every... single... beer... Events almost every week, so check their calendar!

Parking in their tiny lot isn't terrible, and the street opens up around the corner.

Awesome local bottle shop with a number of unique beers on tap and countless rare bottles. The atmosphere is relaxed with a great clientele. They don't serve food but let you bring your own food in to enjoy with your beer. My favorite spot for an afternoon brew with friends.

Good beer selection although the draft beer menu is typically loaded with hoppy beers. Not bad if you want several super hopped beers. Bad though if you looking to try several different styles that aren't hopped. The bottle section is very good. Again, a ton of hopped beers but many different styles. You can bring in food (at least I have seen others do it) and yes there are board games. If you're looking to just run in to buy a six pack with a young one and head home... Don't. No minors allowed since they serve draft... even if it's just to buy a 6pack and leave. I was told so with my 1 y.o. daughter sleeping in her car seat looking to buy a good brown ale (which are in limited stock here anyway).

Great tap room that's always filled with good people and the best craft beer from local breweries on draft. They keep a good mix of beer styles on their 18 taps so everyone can find something they like or try something new. The owner and his crew all have a passion for beer so a good recommendation isn't hard to find for even the pickiest of drinkers. Doesn't stop there though, add a few hundred more bottles you can purchase from the coolers and drink in the store or take togo. You can sit at the bar and chat, find a table and play cards, or bring some food in and make meal out of it. This place has a real community feel to it. No tv's or loud music. Just beer and people, the way a good bar should be. There's frequent events on the weekends featuring individual breweries, often with games to be played. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Wes runs a great shop. Small, exclusive rotating selection of taps. Often things you will not find in most bars. The selection of bottled beer is the best in South Bay.

Tip: Buy a beer and pay for the corkage fee for a reasonably priced drink of amazing beers.

This place has an awesome selection of beers on tap. These beers change as seasonal and new beers become available. For each beer there are new "artist drawn" signs posted above the taps. There is no kitchen, but you can bring your own food in (I've brought in food from Riviera Mexican and Pedone's Pizza). There is a surprisingly wide selection of cold beer and beer on shelves to bring home.

Great place to stack up on beer. Always good brews on tap.

If you’re ever in S. Redondo Beach, CA, you have to stop by Select Beer Store. It’s one of the best bottle shops & tap rooms that we’ve ever been in. The selection was fantastic – both from the 16 taps and the massive walls of bottles, both chilled and room temperature. The atmosphere was like the record store that John Cusack owned in the movie - High Fidelity. Wes is the owner and the John Cusack character, Jack Black’s character was one of the regular customers – Rusty and well, you just have to check it out.
After a great draft triple Belgian, we had a bourbon barrel Quad from Boulevard Brewing and it was just too hard to choose what to have next, but we managed to buy 2 bottles of Firestone Stickee Monkee, a barrel aged, central coast quad. We’ll need a special occasion to open one of those!
Stop in and see Wes and the gang because Select Beer Store is amazing!

Good discussion with about 10 other Christian brothers about mentoring as Christ mentored His apostles while here on earth. The beer was good also; looking forward to meeting again next month.
