Hoopla! An Emporium Of Good Things

Great local shop to find gifts for yourself or others. I believe everything is handmade by locals. I love supporting my small local business's. The owners are very lovely and helpful. Very knowledgeable about all the items they carry and more than happy to answer any of your questions. Definitely my new go to for picking out gifts. Oh and cards. Plenty of cute and unique funny cards.

COUNTERCULTURE
This type of shop can usually be found adjacent to a major metropolitan art museum. I have seen shops like this in London, Sydney, and Paris.
It is a small shop, however you could spend at least a day, maybe two if you were to invest your attention to every item in the shop. It's a walk-in treasure chest of curios, art, artifacts, unique and handmade objects of interest. If you need a unique gift for someone you care about or yourself, this is the place in the North end of Pasadena ( Altadena). The proprietors seem chill, informal. I think they also rent mailboxes

This charming storefront started as (and still is) a street-addressed mailbox rental location for people who want an alternate address. (It adds more legitimacy for online customers than a PO Box, and is a safer package and legal document dropoff.)

AND THEN! This family owned business has blossomed into a treasure trove of unique gifts by local artizans. Everything from exotic chocolates to sassy cards and stickers. There's something handmade for every budget in jewelry, candles, and handmade oddities you won't find elsewhere.

The twinkling, uniquely decorated window scene will lure you in to this whimsical historically rich jewel of Altadena. You'll find more of the same inside, and likely be serviced by the owners themselves who will tell you illustrated tales of the objects within!

Mail and delivery service is impeccable as well as the warm friendly Altadena welcome that always greets you at the door. And you cannot beat the very interesting local special arts and crafts available for gifts. And for keeps.

Super cool store. Friendly personal service. Lots of handmade stuff, candles, stickers, sauces. Love, love, love the candles! The Krampus candle smells amazing!

This is a unique & eclectic store, with something for everyone. Fun gifts & cards. Parking always easy. Lori & Scott are to be commended for supporting local artists & for providing us with a warm welcome - even during tough times for a small business. Thank You !

Felt compelled to post my experience because it is always easier to post when something negative happens. In this case all I can say is that I wish I could visit this store more frequently! They have such great, unique items that I love! The staff have always been great and helpful! Happy they are my neighborhood go-to for gifts, cards, and knickknacks.

Hoopla! is an amazing store! and owners Scott and Lori are also awesome! i drop in regularly to say hi and chat with them, and to check out their wonderful merchandise. They really have great taste so i find lots of local and artisanal wares - jewelry, gourmet food (eg honey, cookies)/teas, books, cards, novelty items- such great stuff. It's the place to get gifts - for oneself or others! It's a lovely neighborhood place that is worth a detour for those who don't live in Altadena... it's down to earth and pleasant with fun, artsy, quality products at reasonable prices. You can't go wrong! It's an Altadena gem.

Hoopla! is a little gem in Altadena. They carry all sorts of items by local artisans and artists: cards, toys, decorations, notebooks, honey, olive oil... from the quirky to the sublimely beautiful, Hoopla! is the best place to find a present for anyone, including yourself... and the owners are the nicest people!

In gnome, mystical and local finds heaven. I popped in with my niece to just check it out - the miniature gnome collection originally caught my eye. With nothing planned for the afternoon we took our time checking out all the great figurines: gnomes, fairies, mermaids and all the other great mystical stuff. They've got great collections of stones, jewelry, incense and random stuff for great presents. There's so much packed into the nooks and crannies I can't even list all the stuff. Another great find are locally made cards that were pretty awesome. stop in!

Been going to Hoopla for many years. I like the mixture of things from local artisans (jewelry, painting, pottery) and writers combined with items from further afield. They also carry food from local suppliers that have combinations that you won't find in the average supermarket including jams, flavored balsamic vinegar, small batch production teas and local baked goods.

Its a GREAT spot to visit and wander among the shelves to find some of the most interesting little things that you didn't know you wanted. And there are the things you DO want - cards, stationery/writing supplies and more. But Lori and Scott contribute tremendously to the visit too!

The name, 'Webster's Fine Stationers' is a fitting name for the quality of merchandise one will find in their stores. However, that name is not all-telling of the treasures one will find there that have made it an anchor business in the community for many decades. Some of Webster's finest products are the hand crafted items produced by people living in the Altadena-Pasadena area. You will find paintings by local artists, books by local writers, cards by local illustrators and more. It should be a first stop for people shopping for special occasions and for those simply looking for office supplies.

The owners are very cool! Came to pick up a package 📦 and the vibes were very mellow and chill. Id love to go back and check out their merch! Will be coming soon!

Just what Altadena needs! An alternative to Websters which closed everything of value but kept the pharmacy only. This little treasure is the best kept secret in Altadena - on Fair Oaks now - the owners are purveyors of wonderful and hard-to-find gifts, foodstuffs and local arts and crafts! A must visit to catch some local culture!
