Lucky Boy Drive-In at Walnut

I’ve been here a few times already and it’s always been great.

I ordered their basic Bacon Lettuce and tomato sandwich. It was delicious with lots of crispy bacon slices. Probably one of the best “BLT’s” I’ve had that splurges on the bacon. The lettuce was fresh, crisp, the tomato was just ripe and right. I highly recommend it.

I’d definitely come back here again and try their other menu items like their pastrami. Just be aware there are two Lucky Boy’s in Pasadena. This has very limited parking.

Their chorizo burrito is phenomenal, solid chorizo pieces and flavor. Just be aware it’s big enough for two people, shareable for sure.

BEST PASTRAMI EVER... EVER! And they will wrap it to travel. And I've recently had a salad with Pastrami, man o man, this was just a wonderful salad with ranch dressing, the best. All there food is is so good. You can not go wrong at this place.

When your looking to have a good meal without counting calories, you take your son to Lucky Boy and order a double cheeseburger, large chili cheese fries, and a grilled chicken sandwich (for the old dad that has to watch his dad bod). The taste and quality is the same as it was years ago.

Came here on a Friday night at about 9:30pm. It was not crowded, food came pretty fast. I got their cheeseburger and chili cheese fries which are always both delicious. The restaurant was clean inside and the staff was accommodating and nice.

This spot is the best location. Lower prices; friendlier, faster service & way less crowded. Obvi everyone comes for the breakfast burritos but don't sleep on the gyros. I'm Greek n I still can't believe how this Mexican spot gets the gyro sooooo right 😳🤯🤤

Got the famous breakfast burrito. It’s massive! Couldn’t even finish it and so cheap. Delicious. Highly recommend. Total hole in the wall but that’s how you know it’s good. Trust me!

The food here is always delicious with large portions and friendly service. The Tuna Melt was cooked perfectly and the Chili Cheese Fries were out of this world! Also their Fried Zucchini is the best I know of in the area. They have free parking in their lot across from the Fuller Seminary Bookstore.

The burrito was a little bland, but it was huge and everything else on the menu looked amazing too. Can’t wait to go back.

This is a must stop while in Pasadena , while growing up in Dena 🙂 we would always go to Lucky Boys , but now get this we the originals would go to the Walnut location !! , so that's going back awhile . So when the Arroyo Seco location opened that was a given that the 2nd location was going to do well , and it has done well in the city of Pasadena . The pastrami sandwiches 🥪 ,
the cheese burgers 🍔 , oh , and don't forget to get the box / full order of onion rings you'll be set, oh !!! and I almost forgot a cherry 🍒
coke to top it all off. You won't be disappointed at all. If that doesn't work for you check out the menu and I'm sure you'll find something that suits you.

I stayed at the Westin Pasadena just down the street from this place. Was craving a breakfast burrito and this place over satisfied my craving. The burritos are more than most will be able to eat and the price is very reasonable. I also got a house coffee and honestly is better than Starbucks coffee. They fresh grind their beans everyday and open earlier than other restaurants in the area. 1

Delicious. The cheese burger is the best burger I've had in a while and the price was incredible. Highly recommend.!

The watermelon smoothie is delicious

Came here for my first time for lunch, nothing crazy just got a cheeseburger combo. They drowned that burger in lettuce that's for sure lol , over food was good, just had to remove some of the lettuce to taste my food but other than that it's a great place to eat. The line is long but doesn't take much time to get your order taken

I’ve driven past the Lucky Boy on Arroyo pkwy many times in the past and decided since I’m in Pasadena I’ll give it a try. I went to the location on Walnut. It’s a good burger with ample fresh lettuce,tomato and onions on it. The fries are large enough for 2 people. 12.00 for burger,fries and drink. Parking lot in rear and minimal street parking. Fast efficient staff. Self serve soda fountain.

Food is great!! Service at this location was a bit slow. But what can one expect when receiving great food. Atmosphere is good, but can use a little notch crank from the ac. Highly recommended!

By far one of the best Breakfast Burritos I’ve ever had. Not only for the bang of the buck but taste wise and extremely fulfilling. The Burritos are H U G E!!!!

I could only eat half and I was super FULL!!!

The California burrito is my go to. Perfect meat to fry ratio. The pico de gallo in the burrito is a refreshing addition. I could have used a little more of it but otherwise the burrito was amazing.

Whoever wraps their burritos needs a raise! Burrito was wrapped tight. Probably the neatest burrito I have eaten.

Oh....don't forget the fried zucchini. The serving size is insane.

The meat was cooked perfectly... the portions are huge, and the staff is very friendly. They also have this frozen strawberry lemonade drink that tastes so amazing... this place is definitely a classic and I have made it my go to spot when visiting Pasadena California.

Get the spicy sausage breakfast burrito, and the burritos are the only thing that (breakfast wise) that they serve all day or at least used to when I went pre covid. You won’t regret it at all.

Both locations never fail to satisfy my appetite. Large portions. You can share everything! The salads are amazing; usually two meals. The atmosphere is laid back with regulars and newbies alike. Great place to stop after 30 mile bike rides.

I really wanted a good bacon cheeseburger... Not the kind that you get from a chain. Lucky Boy did not disappoint. The Char-Broil Burger was piled high with bacon... Not that wimpy, thin pre-fried BS bacon, but real fried thick cut bacon. With tax the bacon cheeseburger comes to about eight and a half dollars... But it's huge and there's a ton of bacon. The flavor of this burger was amazing!!!

I also got the small fry which was huge... Like other reviews here it appears they don't salt the sides so if you order fries, onion rings, or zucchini, you should definitely ask for salt. They don't automatically give it to you and there was no salt on my fries. One ketchup was not enough so next time I would ask for two.

The guy that took my order was very helpful and suggested a lot of options since I have never been here before. The food was made to order and I waited just under 10 minutes. There is no drive-thru so you have to walk in to take out. There were several people that were coming in to pick up phone orders.

I would highly recommend this place and I can't wait to bring my oldest son back so he can try the breakfast burrito. My burger and fries came to $12.29...definitely be sure to come here with a big appetite, or prepared to take some of it home.
