Novato DMV

Friendly DMV. I would give 6 stars to Mario particularly. He was super kind and helpful. When another staff member wasn’t able to fully assist us, he took it upon himself to find a driving test (a little after closing hours) for my friend who had limited time before leaving the country. He took it today at Vacaville, the day he is leaving, and passed thanks to Mario. I took my driving test a couple years and had a great experience here too.

Wow, one of the nicest DMV’s I have ever been. Line was normal. People who worked behind the counter were smiling to everyone! Its hard to imaging. I am used to Los Angeles DMV where people are angry, depressed and uncooperative.
I was able to take care of my things easily and Novato DMV. I just love it in this city. Everything is so nice! I am super happy I moved here :)

Just went on a Monday morning without an appointment and was met with a super efficient, clear process (literally took 12 minutes total). Staff is great!

My first time at this DMV, and walked in before lunch on a Friday. Everyone was extremely polite and helpful, and to my benefit I was in and out within half an hour. This was a great experience.

Wouldn't think I would ever in a million years give the DMV a good review, but the folks at the Novato DMV are gracious, efficient and helpful. They give the place a good vibe and make it as painless as possible. Best place to go if you have to go to the DMV.

This is a review of the Novato DMV branch and its personnel, not of California DMV as a whole. I've been to at least 8 different DMV branches in the Bay Area and this is the best branch of them all by a very wide margin. Their combination of reasonable wait times with friendly PLUS competent staff that is unmatched. You actually feel like a valued customer, which is NOT the feeling you get if you make the fatal mistake of visiting the SF Fell Street branch, which could easily qualify for an starting role in a modern-day remake of Dante's infamous work.

DMV Novato. My new go to DMV location (as opposed to Corte Madera). Ppl are kind, efficient and personable. No outside lines for now. Plentiful places to sit. Lines are shorter too!!

Jack deserves a trophy, he is so kind and patient. He is in charge of the "no appointment" section, he helped like 6 people before me in less than 10 minutes... Super fast and efficient. There was a lady that was being rude to him and he managed it very well and still helped her. Him alone makes the Novato DMV your go-to place. Amazing service.

I'll be back.

Ps. I passed my test here and the instructor was the nicest too but not so much friendliness from the clerks.

I think this is the best Field Office I've ever been to anywhere in CA. The last two times I went over the last two years I had issues that they were able to resolve with great competency. Over many years I've been there for everything from our kids driver tests to bringing in an out of state vehicle. No waits to speak of, knowledgeable and friendly staff, I highly recommended this office.

With the pandemic going on i went in on a Wednesday at about 11am. I couldn't enter without being screened. A nice man came outside and took my temperature. I was then let in and he gave me a sticker to put on my shirt stating i was screened. Then he asked what i was there for then gave me a number. I was in and out of there in under 15 min! They are taking every precaution which i appreciate. Lovely experience. Nice people.

The Novato DMV is far and above the best DMV in all of california! Although I've only been to three or four in the Bay Area this one is definitely the best! They're quick they're kind they're courteous and their knowledgeable! The place is clean the atmosphere is is comfortable! I live closer to the one in Corte Madera but I always try to to Novato because of the staff at the Novato Department of Motor Vehicles! Paul S

Great experience today! Wonderful man at the entrance front desk. Very positive! Very helpful... did a wonderful job assisting people. Made it a pleasurable experience. He should / has been a teacher. Heard him speaking french later and had a great nuance of english. Thank you!

Excellent courteous helpful service from most if not all the people who work there. I came in with my mobility challenged father, and one of the employees and the security guard went out of their way to make sure he was comfortable and to assist us.
Like any DMV, it's almost always crowded, but the ambience at the Novato DMV is not dour nor stressful. It is a positively-vibed place.

I just would like to say that novato DMV has the best customer service. Even when people get angry at them they are able to keep there cool. Great staff very helpful. They went above and beyond to help me straighten out situation and understand that I have a disability with reversing letters and numbers. So keep up the good work. Awesome crew at novato DMV. 10 stars forsure.

Best DMV I have visited, drove from San Francisco since the lines there are horrific. I was treated with respect and courtesy. I went at 8am, 5th in line when they opened at 9am. Line was 58 people after me when they opened. Highly recommend this DMV but go early in the morning 1 hour before they open. Non-appointment.

What a surprise! I went to the DMV to register a motorcycle. People were friendly. It seems they were making every effort to help me. They were actually facilitating instead of obstructing as in the old days. It appears that they also had more staff. Kudos to whomever is responsible for making all the changes. Attitude is much better and is now a more pleasing experience. Thank you

Let's face it, waiting in line sucks, but the staff here are the best! I went without an appt. yesterday, 8-5-2020, and, as usual, I was treated very well. They are welcoming, respectful and super helpful. I just recommend getting there BEFORE they open if you really want to beat the lines.

This is by far the nicest n friendliest DMV in the county that I know of...except for a guy I call Dudley Do Right in the front...he was really annoying n runs around w a rag spraying to kill germs ....the.man is too much....a lady named Lisa was very nice n down to earth n did everything possible to help us a credit to her employers as was the nice asian.lady who talked to people n let them in...very nice also...the place is as nice as a place can be...small lines or not at all....they were all very nice really...very caring staff...they get a 10+ in my book!! No attitude ....DMV pay attention...this place should serve as a model of how to run a people oriented business...give them a raise!!

My husband recommended going to this DMV and now I know why. I can't believe I was in and out in 30 minutes! I was helped by 2 different people who were so nice and helpful. I can honestly say this was the best DMV experience I've ever had.
