Pleasantly surprised how nice this place is! Standard rooms are spacious, clean, and recently updated. Small issue with room service was solved quickly by the concierge. Downtown location can make it a bit noisy at times, however the brick construction of the building does a decent job of attenuating the sound. All in all, I would certainly stay here again and have recommended it to friends.

Cute small rooms and a wonderful bakery downstairs. Very clean looking. Also has a wonderful ambiance in the shared spaces - fireplace in the lobby and nice patio furniture outside.
The only small drawback is it's in a busy area so it's not dark or super quiet at night/early morning. We still got a good night's sleep though.

What warm and professional staff members. It’s impressive when a hotel in a vintage building manages to have trendy but comfortable decor that really works.

I can’t emphasize enough, though, that the staff cares, and is fairly happy. You FEEL it, it’s not forced unlike many hotels I’ve been to. In particular I noticed Danielle warmly greeting the two housekeepers she passes, and them smiling back. She also displayed a really natural attention to detail with ease. It’s just so clear that she and the other staff are truly taking care of the hotel and the people that stay there.

What a great hotel! The staff were awesome, giving us tips on parking on the street or for free in a nearby garage, and offering umbrellas for the rain. There is a small bar in the lobby and an attached restaurant (separate business called The Shuckery), and a bakery with sandwiches. Many restaurants, bars, and shops within the surrounding blocks. The only negative was a shower that didn't drain well. This place was built in 1923. The room was very modern. Loved Petaluma!

Comfortable accommodations in a beautiful historic hotel, walking distance from lots of dining and attractions in Petaluma. Special thanks to Ben and Aurora at the front desk for their assistance and warm welcomes. Would 100% return here if visiting Sonoma County again in the future!

My favorite place to stay and hang in Petaluma! Gorgeous decor and nice toiletries. I could hang in the lobby all day, especially enjoying the bar. Walkable to all the shops and restaurants in charming Petaluma.

Around the holidays, December 15th and 16th to be exact, Hotel Petaluma used their event building as Petaluma’s annual gingerbread showcase event. It is located on Kentucky street right across the street from Penry Park, both located in downtown Petaluma. They hold this event once a year and people of all ages with the art skill of creating a memorable gingerbread house attend it every year. Everyone is invited from visitors to families to friends! We’ll see you in December Gingerbread Houses of 2024!

Great stay at Hotel Petaluma - awesome location, room and amenities, Danielle took such great care of us during our stay (as did the rest of the staff) beautiful hotel and great live music at the Big Easy as short walk away (felt safe walking around at night) and just a short drive over to Muir Woods (Highly recommend making the drive if you can fit it in but be sure to get parking reservations at Muir Woods first or they will turn you away)

This might have been my favorite chain like hotel experience ever. From the front desk help to Show over in the kitchen, this place did not disappoint. Sometimes you stumble upon great places and if you want a home away from home, this historical building and all the staff are living in a higher plane. Even the night watchman making his rounds due to the fire alarm system being down was pure entertainment. I can’t think of any place better to stay in this historic and vibrant town. It was a complete surprise to me how much this town has to offer. I had heard of it for most of my life and never exited the bypass here. Do yourself a favor and walk in any direction from this hotel. It’s steeped in architecture and the landscaping is ideal. I had a great pre-Thanksgiving stay.

Cool hotel. Only negative is no gym on site but the gym down the road does $15 for a 3 day pass.

We had a power outage in our neighborhood and ended up staying here since it is a dog friendly hotel. Very cute hotel and the restaurant attached is very good. Our room was small but very clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was a highlight and everyone was very friendly and accommodating.

Have been stopping at Hotel Petaluma for years with my wife and two kids. LOVE this place. The building and the rooms are incredible and full of charm and character. Super clean. Nice adds (including a fancy white noise machine and great coffee). Beyond that, the staff are excellent. We recently had an issue come up for us on our end (my fault), and not only were they willing to assist, they went above and beyond to help. We also arrived when a huge wedding party was checking in on a Fri at check-in. The front desk staff were quick and unflappable, and somehow amazingly friendly even with the busyness. Will return for sure.

Very pretty hotel. Great rooms. Historic feel with modern updates to rooms. Best asset is the positive atmosphere created by some very passionate people -- particularly Ben! Top employee without a doubt. Professional, friendly, goes out of his way to accommodate guests and make them feel special. Won me over for continual bookings for my work trips. (Managers, make sure to reward with massive bonuses and raises!) Great restaurant within (top notch food, excellent and fast service. Harmonious teamwork among staff.) Very pleased with the overall experience.

Wonderful dog friendly old style hotel very close to downtown. We always stay here!

Hotel super cute, very clean, comfortable beds! The ambiance in lobby is very welcoming and comfy especially with the nice fire place (bonus). Great HH in hotel or walk around and pick one of the other nice places to eat or hangout! We will definitely be staying here again!

It is a quaint little boutique hotel tucked away in a very busy and accessible area of town. The room was small, with big windows that opened out and it was a nice place to stay and pretty comfy. The pillows could have been better. The lobby has a very cool and artistic vibe.

The most adorable hotel in the most adorable town. We stayed during the holidays and the decorations were beautiful. Staff was great, Shuckery restaurant was delicious, loved the happy hour, and the convenience of walking downtown. Couldn’t be more perfect.
