Handy Corner Food Store

Nicest people ever!!! My car shut off on me this morning and it was so embarrassing and I was by myself lol I can usually get it atleast started enough to just go back home but it didnt work this time and two gentlemen who work here saw me struggling and came to my rescue! Lol they didnt have to but they used some tools on the connection part of my battery and i kept trying my car until it started! I always have a pleasant experience here and prices are always great but they really went above and beyond to help me and I really appreciated that, thank you so much again!!!

Great Ma and Pa corner store. I have come here plenty of times and to read what happened really is sad. She did not deserve this! This is a great store and the people here always treated me very well especially their son. This family will be in my thoughts. I wish them the best.

It's a good store, well maintained, still with nostalgic feel of the era in which it was opened. It's heartbreaking to hear what happened, and I'm glad the suspects have both been located. Soon is important to the community, she will be remembered. You don't find stores like this much anymore. We live on the other side of Puyallup, and I remember stopping in for the first time on a summer day, with my teenage son, and he loved the snack selection. I immediately thought the store was so cute. We will always recall the kind store owner who rang us up, Soon Ja Nam. Peace and love to her family and friends.

I live 1/2 mile away and come here often when I'm in a rush and need something last minute for dinner or just dog food for my pups! The tragedy that occurred about 2 months ago was unthinkable and I can't fathom why anyone would kill a 79 year old lady! Please accept my condolences. Please continue Pray for this wonderful family! I am so sad knowing what the owner suffered. Her photo reminds me my mom. How could someone do this to a person at the age of 79 that deserves a peaceful and decent end of life. She has suffered so much in her life and should be away from the evils and fights in this world. She survived Korea but died in the Washington State that catches and releases criminals. Shame to our society.

So sad to go in there today and there was new owners. I hope they keep it as the handy yellow store on the corner as I've known it and not turn it into anything else. It was definitely dead in there then I have seen it. The old owners where loved with there kindness and sweetness myself and gf go in there to just grab a soda and chips we would always leave laughing smiling, and we would be hot messes lol. The older owner don't know name just referred to him as gpa at yellow handy was so delicate and funny still worked the cashier he hated the lottery said he was going to call them cuz they keep given all losing ones as a joke. It was hard to walk in there without hurtful thought and memory of the traggic accident that happened to what we referred to as gma at yellow store. We loved them and support great local businesses. So I can't imagine having to be there everyday with the hurt and thought of a loved one gone. So sad to see them go and not even say bye 😪 probably would have went on a shopping spree for there last day owned lol. Wish the best for the family you where my little fav yellow handy mart.

We go to this corner store often. The staff are really nice. Always ask for a receipt to make sure you weren't accidentally over charged though! Its happened once or twice with us. They're older, so you can't be mad at them.

Came in to get a soda and only had a Benjamin. Asked if he could break it but told him I understood if he felt sketched out seeing as how it was only a soda. He just gave it to me. I owe you guys a sody pop. 10/10 Would quench thirst again.

Sue and Joe are so sweet and always have a smile on their faces. He whole family is a long time fixture in our community.

I've been going to Handy Corner since the 70s I love them they're the only Ma and Pa's store left they are wonderful and have a great family please treat these folks with respect when you are in their store and you will get the same in return

Love the owners/staff always friendly and welcoming. Very at home warm feeling when you go in. Great place to stop for snacks.

One of my favorite stops. Very nice people.
