McChord Field Commissary

Been shopping here for 32 years. This place is big enough for all items needed and small enough that I don't need a GPS or map finder to get what I want. Cost savings are for the most part good. Some items I stay away from due to cost can be found lower at other places. I do 80% of shopping here. I also think it is important to support our military benefits. Have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful.

These are the most delicious pistachio muffins you will ever taste!

Over 27 years we have chosen here over Ft. Lewis (JBLM-Lewis Main) only because it is typically more quiet. Lots if changes, but quality has never wavered!!!!! We also like JBLM Lewis’s as it kind if seems as if it has slight more selections.

Enjoy coming here to grocery shop when time permits during the week. The produce is always fresh and meats are plentiful. The bakery has a variety of breads and desserts that I can’t find at other grocery stores. The staff is friendly, courteous, and ready to assist with a smile 😀

Great prices! Great value! Gets really crowded on paydays and weekends but still very much worth the trip!

My absolute favorite employee is Larry, in produce. He is all about friendliess, customer service and always makes me glad when he's working! I owe this great employee at least a banana cake, as he always makes sure I leave the commissary with the fruit and vegetables I came for! Thank you Larry, you're the best!!!

I've been shopping at the McChord commissary since the early 70's and have found this store offers consistent savings and value. We typically visit once or twice a week to purchase staples.

Best deal on meats bar none. Butchers on sight are knowledgable and will obtain any cut you can't find on the display shelves. Been using commissaries over 50 years. This is a well run commissary. Clean and well stocked.

Great produce and meat selection! Great quality and prices. I find them to be very competitive to other stores. They accept all coupons even ones that are slightly expired. They offer paper or plastic.

I am here at least 3 times a week. Only one person in 6 months has given me a bad vibe. I wish they would add a fresh fish department. The meat department staff are some really great people.

Big shoutout to associate Oswald! I needed a massive amount of the older bananas they sell in bags for banana bread... last minute shopper here so of course they were all out. When I asked him he immediately dropped what he was doing to run into the back room and grab me some bags. Thank you again!

I love their deli. Great sandwiches. And service is always great. I wish they would have a limit of items on the self checkout. Sometimes people use self checkout with a FULL cart.

There weren't many people, so it went quickly. Items were found easily. I love the self check out; if my mom wouldn't have kept moving the items around.

The commissary at McChord Field has always a been great place to shop for me. I've been to over a dozen commissaries in the past few years and I always compare those to McChord. Not sure why people are saying that the choices are "mediocre at best". The prices aren't ridiculously high.. unless you shop by the handful of deals from weekly ads at another store? The produce is way better than some of the places off post. The meat selection is beyond plentiful. Perhaps it's to discourage people from going as the lines can get crazy sometimes? Maybe they should discourage people from going to Safeway or Fred Meyers or Winco? You can be in line at those places for half an hour with five items. The lines move surprisingly fast here with their expert cashiers and friendly baggers. I guess it's just a preference but this is one of the better commissaries around.

A very good commissary. Today I used the Express Checkout Line. Cashier was Rickie, accomplished and most efficient and helpful. Bagger was Number 10. She was most efficient as well, keeping my cold product together and bagging other like items together for easier handling. I remain impressed.

I really love coming here. They have a whole aisle of just Asian food and snacks. It's next to the Exchange, so it's really convenient to go shopping when they're right next to each other.

This place has great food a great price they have a good deli their fresh meat a large selection of France a large selection of groceries from different parts of the world the Pastries are made fresh everyday They have a good selection of seafood fresh and frozen easy check out friendly people and a lot of people to help you if you need it.

Well stocked today with lots of workers refilling shelves as you went along. Made it easy to ask where items were if you didn't know and needed help finding things.

I take things as signs...

1. Called a place to order a cake to be disconnected twice.

2. Called another place to get a voice mail.

3. Called your location which is closer to the location I need to pick up going away gifts(JBLM Arts and Crafts)....and you guys answer right away and I ordered the cake in less time it took me to deal with 1 and 2....

Yep....That's the place to go with alright!

Excellent selection... I found everything I needed and more! It's a 4hour+ drive for me, but it's great for stocking my pantry!
