A local oasis in Pacific Grove that I recommend taking a stroll on during a weekday late afternoon. Once you cross the "stream," you are then allowed to let your dog off leash, though many let their dogs off leash all over the beach, but technically you have to cross the stream to the Pebble Beach side.

Every time I walk this beach I find a treasure washed up from the deep in the tide pools and along the shore.

You can also surf this beach too!

Great beach, and cleaner water compared to up north. Lots lots of otters in the wave breaks 🦦 Pro tip: bring binoculars with with you! 👀

Asilomar State Beach is a beautiful location that I stumbled across one day while down in Pacific Grove. It has a pretty boardwalk and a cool little gazebo to sit in and take in the views. It is definitely windy and gets pretty cold here towards the evening. Watching a sunset from here is worth it.

Love all the sandy dunes and plants surrounding the ocean path and has stairs that take you down to the rock area if you want to get a closer view. Great views and quiet location.

A nice beach with a good board walk. Even though there were a reasonable amount of cars parked, the beach didn’t feel busy. Pretty dog friendly, too. Some tide pools, tool. While we saw “no fires” signs, a number of people were doing bonfires as the sunset. FYI — did not see any restroom facilities

The kids had a great time at the beach building sand castles. The state park rangers were cleaning up after the storm but the beach was opened. There are parts of the beaches that are washed away or damaged but the dogs and kids still had fun. This is an off the leash park so if you come have a picnic the dogs will come find your food. We met about a dozen of them.

Weather we walk along, bike or run or drive, I always stop at places to take pictures of the breathtaking beauty of the coast. White waves, wild life and blue ocean. 'Refuge by the sea' (asilo mar) beach is a hidden gem. Take a walk, drive or bike along, you will find yourself stopping to admire the beauty.

One of the best beaches in Monterey County. This beach is more for walking and running your dog. But I have seen people go in the water and put out their beach stuff

Located at the tip of Monterey Peninsula, Asilomar State Beach is an one mile strip of sandy dunes with a wooden trail runs through it. The trail is wheelchair accessible, and bicycling friendly. But the beach does not have a rest room facility. It is only available at Asilomar Conference Grounds. Free parkings are available at the shoulder of the Sunset Drive, be sure to park on the beach side of the road.

The view is fantastic on this beach, sunrise and sunset looks particularly beautiful. It is a good place for personal reflection amid quiet solitude. I guess that is why the beach name means "a refuge by the sea".

Rip tides and unpredictable surfs are quite common here. That is the reason there are safety fences along the one mile trail. You can cross it to go on the beach, but at your own risk.

If you have time, do pay a visit to the Asilomar Conference Grounds, The house was built in 1913 as a conference center and summer camp for the YWCA. The ground was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987. It is well maintained and still looks great after 100 years.

The beach is very close the the famous 17 mile. Actually there is a 5 mile hiking trail which takes you all the way to the Pebble Beach Golf Links and the Lone Cypress. The trail starts at the south end of the beach. For some people, hiking is a better way to explore the 17 miles than driving through it.

This is a really cool place. Right now, there is a lot of ash everywhere because of the fires. We still saw a bunch of hermit crabs, a few regular crabs, some sea anemones, etc. We checked the tide charts online to go at low tide. There were quite a few cars parked there, but the beach area is big enough that it seemed like we had the place mostly to ourselves. It was fun walking all over the rocks. There were a lot more people on the sandy parts of the beach, but we avoided those areas.

Great views, not too crowded. Picnic tables every so often are a great feature. Boardwalk trail has some areas that need repair.

Trash receptacles conveniently located along the road & well maintained.

In all my visits to Monterey I hadn't taken the time to visit before now. Short drive and has a lot of parking.

Keep in mind this is a windy beach but pretty and great for hiking and biking

An absolutely great beach for everyone! It's an excellent place to enjoy the sounds and sights of the ocean, walk your dog, take a stroll, sunbath, and most importantly for us a great place to take the kids! We had so much fun during low tide checking out the diversity of life in the tide pools. The course sand is easy on the feet and great to walk on. A magical spot!

Wonderfully Scenic beach near Monterey, one of the best beaches. Big waves here, great for surfing or just taking a stroll or walking your dog. There's not really a parking lot here, but there's plenty of room to pick a spot along the highway and just park. If you come at dusk the sunset here is particularly beautiful.

Amazing tide pools full of anemones, hermit crabs, snails, mussels… lots to marvel at.

Gorgeous beach without trash. Parking is off the road along the fence. The marine layer burns off around 11/12pm and then it's sunny and warmer. I loved my time here! It's perfect for kids, but they probably need some swim shoes because of the rocks, and the rocks Re also a bit slippery. Enjoy! Also, there are trash cans in case you bring food.

Beautiful and peaceful beach.. The coast has miles of side parking, all you have to do is pick your favorite spot to admire the ocean view. People use the trails to walk along the beach which can take you all the way to the 17 mile trail beach. Depending on the weather, it can get chilly so come prepare with jackets. There are no restrooms just the beautiful view of the ocean.

Great place to watch the sunset!!
Waves don't get as dangerous as other beaches at sunset, so we could enjoy it right at the waters edge. Neat rocks to climb around on and stunning views

I absolutely loved this beach. I think my visit to this beach was the highlight of my recent trip to the area. It wasn't super crowded. My power wheelchair had no problem on the pathways along the coastline. The only incident I had was when I went off the trail a bit too far and got stuck in the sand trying to turn around. Fortunately, a very nice European gentleman who was sunbathing nearby ran over to help almost immediately. He practically lifted my chair to get me free
