Asilomar Beach is fantastic for families that like exploring tide pools for crabs 🦀, starfish, sea anemones and hermit crabs. We made the 3 hour roundtrip drive here twice in 3 days.

Great beach to visit and see tide pools! I came here after going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and honestly I enjoyed the beach more. The beach was very clean (please pick up after yourself and keep it that way), and it was free. No parking fees either. If you stand near a tide pool, and stay still you may see some little crabs walk around.

Just a reminder, please be kind to nature, don't pick up sea life, and don't stand on the rocks. You might be standing on a sea animal and not know it. (Anemone has amazing camouflage)

It's breathtakingly beautiful and what I appreciate most is the attention to creating a walking space for all. My ankles aren't the best and I really enjoyed my nice long walk along the coastline. It's great seeing families enjoying the tide pools!!

My husband proposed to me here:) This beach is a sight to see. I’d say it’s consistently windy but on a hot day, we don’t notice it. People who come to the beach are usually kind (a surfer photographer saw my husband proposing and snapped some pics of us out of the kindness of her heart❤)

The sunset was beautiful, there’s some places to climb and get good photos. If you are coming from Monterey bay aquarium this is a great beach it’s only 10-15 minutes away. I came on a Monday evening and it was pretty busy.

Amazing tidepools and sweet little cove beaches, but parking is at a premium. If you're visiting from out of town, you'll be fighting locals. Beware.

PSA: this area is gorgeous, but also prone to sneaker waves (sudden large waves, even when the ocean seems calm) and riptides (powerful underwater currents that can easily pull you out. Be careful and respect the power of the ocean. **Never turn your back to the ocean** That selfie on the rocks isn't worth it.

Gorgeous beach. Highly recommend the boardwalk trail. Really appreciate the conservation efforts. (They are rebuilding some of the sand dunes and restoring native plant life) had tons of fun naming all the native plants. Pretty safe for small children to roam.

One of many locations where Heaven is experienced on Earth. Beautiful silky white sands, gorgeous blue and sometimes jade ocean waters. A beautiful place to watch the sunset as well.

Bring a blanket and a chair, or just sit in the sand. Dogs are welcome it seems, too.

A good stretch of beach. Enjoyed the Carmel River State Beach more. Has 2 parts, where there's the actual beach itself & then there's an area to stroll, that has proper wooden planks. The place has a good vibe, with people chilling & doing their own thing, while some of them being really sweet & strike up a convo or offer to take pics. Good experience with the fam.

This portion was beautifully secluded, we were able to watch the sunset in peace and enjoy the waves. Make sure to bring warm clothes and blankets because it gets really cold and windy! Also make sure to respect peoples space (not necessarily for covid but just to let people enjoy their own time) and respect the beach itself!

This is our favorite beach in CA. It is so beautiful, and there is so much to see and explore. It's perfect for a walk, to sit and watch the water, or climb and see new things. It's our favorite place!

Great beach to OBSERVE sea activity and little details. Saw 100s of sea anemones, urchins, hermit crabs and starfish. Please respect space of all organisms here, saw many folks standing on rocks and hence knowingly or unknowingly pressing anemones.
Enjoyed my time there on a cold clear sky day.

This is an amazing natural beach. Come here to explore and be in awe of all of the elements. Enjoy a great afternoon walking the well-built paths along the coast. Wear comfortable shoes and don’t test the tides! (Remember not to take anything from the beach.)

Beautiful view with white sand. Beaches are not big during high tide. If you go for a beach, go to lover’s point.

Excellent trail for walking along the coast, can be breezy and foggy so bring a jacket. Added some videos and pics.

Really nice area, plenty of sea life to see when the tide is low enough. There's a nice wooden dock path that takes you along the length of the shore.

Love the views and we'll maintained trails. Parking along side the road can be a challenge. Watch out for bicycles and deer!

A beautiful and clean beach, hardly anyone there with the exception of a few surfers and a little family taking pictures with a photographer. We will be going back regularly to dig in the sand. It's a bit cold but that's Monterey!

Amazing place with tidepools and a beach walk. Go early morning or sunset to get the best views for photos. Kid friendly and parking right on the street. The wood path makes it nice and touristy. Go to the north edge for tidepools and south for more sandy Beach type walk.
