Asilomar Hotel and Conference Grounds

This was a great find for us traveling as a family. Location was amazing, it is a big place, but you do get a map at the front desk. We stayed at the Shore building- it seemed very campy-fireplace was great. 1 queen bed, 3 twin beds very comfortable and great place to stay. Everything was seperate- bathroom, shower/tub & sink which worked perfectly with our family traveling together, you some what had privacy in each location in the room. Would stay there again. Highly recommended for families with kids, couples and friends.

A perfect experience for those who want to enjoy the outdoors and wildlife.
There are literally deer and bunnies walking around every day and will even come up to you like you're a Disney princess 😂

It has a boardwalk that spirals around the dunes and goes straight to the beach access.

Also met an adorable dog named Rosie 🥰

The staff are very very nice and are definitely fast workers!

AND ITS SO CHEAP like it's crazy how little we spent for our 4 day stay.

The Asilomar Hotel and Conference Center is great. The customer service is amazing, and all the staff is nice and courteous. The food in the dining hall is out of this world delicious. The ambiance and scenery are spectacular. I spent a couple of days there for a work conference and I'm looking forward to going back with my family.

Huge property within walking distance of the beach with walking trails. Rooms are very minimal and older. Granted you're not staying here to hang out in your room. Fire place is nice for winter nights.

We didn't stay there, but always check out the beach chair for our son. It's priceless to be able to get him down to the water! The wooden boardwalk and pathways are just beautiful & so accessible!

It's a really nice conference center by the ocean. Depending on the room, it can be a modern room or it can be pretty rustic. The dining is nice and the food is always good. I've been here for many conferences, and each time, it's been a great place to get away, focus on whatever is there, and forget whatever is outside of the center.

All the staff are helpful, including the catering staff, the AV staff, front desk and the ranger that gives a tour of the sand dunes.

Love staying here when they have a spot for non conference people. Asilomar is the best of the Northern California coast with dunes not found elsewhere. Rooms are institutional and food is mediocre but the setting is one you’ll rarely get the pleasure to experience. They have free charge stations now in all the parking lots.

We stayed here for a week and had a great experience! The room was spacious and in a good location to walk to the beach. Housekeeping checked in on us twice and were very friendly and helpful. We didn’t spend a lot of time on the grounds as we were visiting surrounding areas during the day but it was nice and peaceful to come back to each night.

Went for Thanksgiving. They did a good job but I didn't love the food. However, you can't beat the grounds and beaches. I remember Asilomar from when I was a kid. Big nostalgia.

Our room was exquisite. Both modern & vintage. We particularly liked our fireplace all set up with material for a nighttime fire all cozy and fragrant. The grounds are spectacular and the ocean views are one of a kind. Lots to do on the campus and in nearby downtown.

This was a dream location to spend time in Julia Morgan designed and built buildings.

The first night we were in the lodge, which is nothing spectacular. If that had been our only experience, it would have been a disappointment in terms of the stay overall

Even though all guests have access to the social hall, which can be quite convivial during Times when a conference is concurrent with a leisure guests stay, the long lodges have quite unremarkable rooms

Our second night we were in the Julia Morgan built large, a historic building. The room has both a fireplace and a tiny balcony with table and chairs; we brought in dinner from, the nearby Pacific Grove shops.

Each night we enjoyed playing pool in the social lodge. One is able to purchase beverages and take a trip back in time walking across the property in the moonlight back to our lodging was also lovely.
The pool is somewhat unremarkable but quite pleasant. We took a dip after a long run on 17 mile drive; if you are an athletic person the run from Asilomar down 17 mile drive to Bird rock is a good way to enjoy this iconic California destination. .

I loved this place! So quiet and peaceful. The room was clean and spacious with a beautiful fireplace! The staff was friendly and professional. The grounds are unmatched, with trails all over the dunes leading to the beach. Can’t wait until my next stay!

The grounds are beautiful, the staff is super friendly and helpful, and it's a short walk to the beach. There's also random deer that roam the grounds.

Astounding views and a 5 minute walk to the beach, with rooms priced like your average hotels in the middle of nowhere. Rooms are large but a bit lower quality than what you'd normally expect, but are absolutely fantastic for the price and location.

The Asilomar hotel and conference center is the same as it was 20 years ago when we stayed. Rustic and wonderful. It is not a place to go if you want to sit in your room and watch TV. There are no TVs. There are no phones in the room. It's meant to be a place where you can rest and relax and enjoy the beautiful environment around you. Located. Just steps away from the ocean and surrounding by trees. This is a place of serenity.

Asilomar is one of our favorite places. We’ve been coming to Asilomar for nearly 30 years, and always look forward to our visits.

Beautiful grounds and nice walking paths and access to the beach. Clean rooms, although dated. Main lodge was a nice place to read by the fire and have a cup of coffee from the little shop.

My family stayed at Asilomar. We visited and hiked the trail. Incredible! Beautiful! Stunning! A d well kept.
