Pelican Inn Monterey CA

The customer service was very friendly. The owners are down to Earth, and the location of the hotel is quiet. The room had some features that were dated, but those were features that don't affect the peaceful and quiet nature of the hotel. There is an outside area to sit and lounge around, and the ice machine is easy to locate as it is marked with a sign. I would definitely stay again in the future.

The hotel is a bit older but is well maintained. Parking is adequate and handicap parking is available. Our room had a fireplace and was cozy. Very good location, very easygoing atmosphere on the grounds. Walking trails right across the road. Beautiful woods to walk through and the beach is close in several different directions as it is on the point. Everyone on staff including the owner were kind and great to talk to. Very helpful and gave great directions and local info!

This Inn was in the perfect spot. Close to downtown Monterey! Short drive to Carmel and Pacific Grove. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Perfect for budget minded travelers. My room was comfortable. I really liked the liquid soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers. Less mess! Great for the price! This will be my go to spot from now on.!

We had a really comfortable stay here!! Rooms and bathrooms were super clean and the bed was really cozy. There was a nice size mini fridge and microwave, and check in/out was really smooth and easy. I especially appreciated the really nice interactions we had with the employees! I’ve stayed here multiple times and would totally stay again, it’s an amazing hotel especially for the low price! 🤩

This is a five star review because it's better than yours expect but again it's only a budget inn. If you're expecting a 5 star hotel with great amenities don't go here. If you're looking for a nicely remodeled older hotel with great staff, clean rooms and hospitality this is the place. No complaints besides no complimentary breakfast but half the hotels don't do that anymore.

We had a great stay in the 2 bedroom room. I didn't expect the second room to have a door as thats not pictured but it was welcomed. Lots of mirrors and space. Cute little table to eat on. Everything was clean. Would def stay again!

I had to stay down in Monterey for about 2 months for school and spent the time hotel living. In that time I checked out multiple different lower cost places and I will tell you right now. if you are looking for a very affordable hotel in Monterey, THIS IS THE ONE.

The couple who runs this place are so sweet and understanding. I had some weird billing issues and they were extremely helpful. Every other hotel I checked out in roughly the same price bracket had EXTREMELY hostile staff or CRAZY hidden fees I had to pay when I checked in.

The folks at Pelican are extremely kind and attentive and helpful.

Great room, we found it to be well worth the higher cost compared to other places. They reserved an extra $250 in case of damages to the room. I haven't encountered that that much when it comes to motels, but maybe it's common there

I came in expecting a hole in the wall and instead I got an actually super nice hotel for a price that genuinely had me checking like eight different spots to see if it was really that low. Room was pristine, staff was pleasant and willing to put up with my half-inebriated effort to aquire more towels at midnight, and the coffee was complimentary. I'd have to stretch to like... 'loud heating unit' or something to complain. Right off the highway too so it was only like 15 minutes from anywhere.

Overall the hotel was nice, clean and in a good location. Great for the one or two night stays. I stayed only one night just for a short get away. It wasn't too far from the main attractions Monterey has to offer, and there are plenty of stores and restaurants near by for conviences and dinning. I would definitely stay here again and suggest it to friends and family.

Comfortable and clean. Decent parking. Roomy bathroom. Easy access to the main roads to get to local attractions. My window in a second bedroom on the second floor faced the highway but it was still relatively quiet at night.

It's not a 5 Star Hotel, but we got 5 Star service and help. Clean enough. Warm enough. Great Budget Hotel. Nice Location with easy access to Hwy 1, shopping, dining and all the Bay has to offer.

The Pelican Inn is perfect for a weekend trip. I was able to snag the last room on the Fourth of July for my partner and I. The place was squeaky clean, cozy, and basic (what more do you need really?). It’s not luxury, but it’s exactly what I needed. My partner and I really enjoyed this affordable, cozy, quiet place. Plenty of parking as well and location is ideal.

I gave Pelican Inn five stars because it's the best place in town for the price. Clean, friendly. Everything you need from a no frills motel.

Pelican Inn was such an amazing stay. It’s close to everything you could possibly want to go to! It’s about 10 minutes from Cannery Row, multiple different beaches, Fisherman’s Warf, etc. The room itself is cute, clean and cheap. The walls are very thin and you can hear people coming and going but that wasn’t too big of a deal for us. Good wifi, comfortable bed, A/C. Will definitely come back here when taking another trip.

Great place if you are looking for a no-nonsense room. Rooms are very clean, staff is really friendly, and you can't beat the price! I paid about a third of what I would have paid for a room just a stroll down the street. I recommend the Pelican Inn, and will definitely be back.

I stayed there for 2 nights and it was a good experience. Only downside was the continental breakfast, for drinks they only had coffee & milk. Management needs to have some juice like orange or cranberry. Some guests don't drink coffee or milk. Other than that room was very clean and comfortable. I will stay here on my next visit to Monterey:)

The Pelican Inn is located in a very convenient part of the Monterey Peninsula allowing access to all the great near by places. The Inn itself is very quiet, clean and safe. I have stayed at a number of places right in this exact area over the years and this one by far was my absolute favorite.

Really nice hotel at a fair price. The location is really convenient and the parking is roomy. The rooms are spacious and comfortable as well as the restroom and the bathtub. Great place to stay when touristing Monterey! Would recommend (no breakfast though)
