Stony Hill

My fiancée and I had a wonderful experience at Stony Hill. Finding the house was a bit difficult and we were met by a closed gate which mysteriously opened after minutes of dial signal. However, when we got to the top of the mountain we were met by our host Morgan (I think, I apologize if I got your name wrong). We were then given a wonderful tour of the house and a history of the wine and how it had been grown since the 1940s.

The wine tasting began in a room to ourselves with a menu customized for us. Each wine was exceptionally exquisite and the history of each wine was told to us. We thoroughly enjoyed each tasting and we ended up buying a bottle of wine for ourselves. I am not a member of any winery but Stoney Hill would be on the short list of who I’d sign up for due to the complexity of their wines and the rich flavor they have.

Please visit Stony Hill and get their name out there, they absolutely deserve it for a wine that is complex and worth every bit.

Very private experiences. Impressive architecture and furnitures. Fantastic white wine and supple red wine. One of the best tasting experiences!

Our Stony Hill wine tasting was incredible. The view was absolutely breathtaking and the wine was heavenly. Their entire staff was also amiable and welcoming. We were greeted with a glass of white wine when we pulled up, and seated at a table for ourselves, completely private. The red they served us was memorable and I bought a bottle of dessert wine it was so delicious. Stony Hill’s wine tasting is a must if you’re visiting Napa!

I had a mind blowing experience at Stony Hill. They totally changed my perspective of chardonnay. The view of the valley is great. The decor of the residence is modern and sophisticated. Special shout out to our host Jacqueline (If I did not spell wrong). She is so knowledgable, elegant and showed great hospitality. The whole experience goes way beyond our expectation. And thanks Jacqueline so much for hosting us. Definitely recommended to go!

Beautiful space and some of the nicest staff at any winery I’ve been to. The wines are a very special treatment of Chardonnay as well. Highly recommended.

The historic home and grounds are a must see treasure of Napa Valley.
Michaela was super knowledgeable yet warm and welcoming. All the wine was exquisite, we were especially partial to the Chardonnay.
Do not pass on this boutique experience of Napa’s history and finest wine.

My wife really liked Stony Hill wines. We left with two bottles even though we don’t drink a lot of wine. Galen was fantastic. Super wine smart and told the Stony Hill story very well. His dog, Lefty, was a blast too. These guys make wine the old school way and it hasn’t changed since the beginning. It’s amazing that with seemingly antiquated wine making processes that they still produce amazing wines.

We stumbled upon this charming, family run, out-of-the-way winery while researching white wines in the Napa Valley. We set up a tour and were blown away to discover upon arrival that it was just for us and lead by a family member. It was like having a friend lead you around. The setting is high up, overlooking the Napa Valley. It is truly a unique setting and experience anywhere near Napa and Sonoma. Best of all, their white wines are absolutely delicious! They use 25+ year old barrels so no new oak flavor. They also have reds and a very hospitable wine club including events and parties. If you've visited the big names in Napa, see what the wine country was like back in the 1960's and 70's before becoming corporate. This is a very special place.

Shortly after arriving at Stony Hill, while in an elegant room overlooking the vineyard, I heard a song. It was a song that I’ve been searching for, pining for, after hearing it a year and a half ago. It was my white whale song.

Did Stony Hill know and plan this for me, so I could be reunited with the song “Texas Sun” and all of it’s feelings?

I can’t say for sure.

But what I can say is that it was an elegant, beautiful, unique, and chill tasting experience. The pictures tell a very real story. Ruby’s attention to detail was en pointe without being stuffy. And of course the wine was spectacular.

And, most importantly, they play a life-changing song.

This is a destination visit. You must make an appointment ahead of time. You then receive a wonderfully personalized experience. Enjoy sitting on the terrace overlooking the valley drinking wine with your host. The views and wine are both lovely. I will definitely return!

Our first trip to Napa and we decided on Stony Hill as one of the 3 wineries where we would do a tasting. I was attracted to the fact that it’s organic and is said to have good white wines. Spending $150 on each tasting was risky since it didn’t appear on too many must visit lists. We are so happy we booked this tasting. It was a high end phenomenal experience. We felt out of our league in a good way. Our host Richard was very professional and chill at the same time. He knew so much, about their wines and other wines in the valley. He could describe the different techniques multiple wineries use. Richard was able to inform us on multiple notes in the various wines. It was fun to see our tasting experience compared to the notes he described. My husband and I had a private tasting and it was such a unique experience. We also really loved the wines. We purchased some to ship home. The views from up on the hill were amazing. This property is separate from the valley and it was fun to have what felt like a very secluded experience. Book a tasting here it is so worth it!

Staff and wines have been my favorite for years. So much history and special property.

My experience at this winery was exquisite and the employees were very kind and hospitable. Initially, I had booked horseback riding for 5 people and we had difficulties making it on time due to complications with directions and traffic from an accident causing us to miss the event. The staff had so kindly accommodated us and we’re very hospitable. The horseback riding tour was stunning and beautiful and the staff had allowed us to visit the horses after the tour to let us meet the rest of the horses while they were in their stables. We ran into some complications with the horses on the ride and they accommodated us by allowing us to sit at the winery and taste some of their refreshingly crisp 2021 rosé companied by some delicious pairings. This winery is 15/10 stars and so it the customer service and hospitality.

Our experience at Stony Hill was incredible. If you're looking for an intimate wine tasting this is a must. The obvious positive is the view, which is absolutely stunning from the property on Spring Mountain. Our host, Tom, was fantastic and took great care of us, sharing history of the property, the vineyard, Napa valley, the owners and anything else related to wine and Stony Hill. This is not a large vineyard with people all over, so you get a very personalized experience with great wine, an incredible view, and educational/ fun conversation. I can't recommend Stony Hill enough.
