Bistro Don Giovanni

Bistro Don Giovanni was a great Italian restaurant in Napa. We reserved for a table of 4 on a Saturday night and got seated immediately by the patio area. They served bread, vinaigrette and olive oil to start. We had the Shrimp Risotto, Gnocchi but the best food was the Ravioli with Lemon Sauce, so refreshing and different! The only thing I can complain is that I felt the service staff was overwhelmed with waiting on too many tables so it took a while for them to take our orders and refilled our drinks. Parking is not too crowded as long as you get an earlier reservation. Highly recommended!

Easily the most authentic Italian dining I've ever enjoyed in the US. I have lived extended stays in Italy, traveled heavily for business, searched for places like Don Giovanni's, and was sad to leave to fly back to Seattle. What an experience from driving up through dessert. Incredible service, authentic surroundings, and I feel sorry for the folks that visit Napa and miss this incredible dining opportunity. Bravo 👏

It's been more than 20 years since I've been to this restaurant and it is still fabulous. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the guys loved their pasta dishes. The tiramisu was fresh and nicely flavored. The chocolate cake and butterscotch pudding were lovely. Portions were generous, but not too much. Service was attentive, but not overly so. I look forward to making homemade pizza tomorrow with dough we purchased tonight.

Great authentic Italian food. We also very much enjoyed the wine. But our highlight was definitely the service by Roberto! Thanks for a great evening.

Very good Italian restaurant with a very nice patio in Napa. I would certainly recommend it. Fresh ingredients, very delicious and great service. Since we had other dishes in different places before. Octopus salad and calamari crisps were amazing. Great value for money not an astronomically expensive place.

We enjoyed a good lunch with friends after wine tasting in Napa. The food is good, the service is polite and professional. The outside patio is very nice.

One of our favorite restaurants in Napa. This place is a local favorite and the food nor service never disappoints. They make their own pasta and the food is fresh, hot and very flavorful. The service is always fast and friendly. Never had a bad meal or experience here.

My wife and I decided to celebrate valentines early on a Sunday February 11th at Bistro Don Giovanni and it was packed but, we got seated right away, because the manager recognized us for dining there on past Valentines and anniversaries and I thought we’re going to be disappointed. The food and service still awesome.😎

This placed was recommended by Micky while we were at the Clif Winery. It was the best Italian restaurant I’ve eaten at since visiting Francesca Italy. Everything was prepared perfectly. The calamari, pizza with goat cheese, risotto with shrimp & sausages and the veal parmigiana with fettuccine. The bread & olive oil was great. Gregory our server was entertaining, forthcoming & patient. The prices were on target. The only thing was a miss was the hazelnut gelato. If I ever find myself in Napa Valley again I’m guaranteed to visit Bistro Don Giovanni and hope whoever reads this review will follow my lead.

Really amazing food a outstanding service. The outdoor seating area is beautiful. All the dishes we ordered were excellent. Highly recommended.

I honestly came in not thinking much. The market is so saturated with Italian restaurants and most are subpar. However, after my first bite of the spaghetti and clams dish, I was shook!!!!!!! The noodles were perfectly bouncy, sauce was thick and delicious, and the clams were so fresh and juicy!!! I had to apologize to my husband because we ordered one to share (we didn’t know better) and I fully intended to destroy the rest of it. The bread service was impeccable. Warm bread with unlimited olive oil AND balsamic vinegar. My husband loves high quality olive oil and a nice thick balsamic vinegar. He was delighted to see that they used very decent ingredients. Service was great. We had a waitress who did not show any judgement when we only ordered one dish and took great care of us. All the other servers were just as nice when they stopped by to check in. Ambiance is a given. The patio area was gorgeous with a lot of art and a fountain. You’ll be surrounded by lush gardens and olive trees. This was a truly incredible dining experience and I’ll be recommending it to all of my friends that visit the area.

Very nice atmosphere in the garden, food was excelent either the octopus or the Branzino that both were cooked very well. The tiramisu also wad good. Service was good. A good Italian atmosphere restaurant. For sure will be back.

Great food, great atmosphere. The only knock is that some of the presentation was not consistent. Some dishes were plated nicely, while others looked like it was dumped onto the plate.

Went on a very hot day (over 100 degrees) and the hostess made the recommendation we sit outside near the fountain. Great decision because the patio ambiance was awesome. The food was fresh farm to table. We ordered the caprese salad and the tomatoes were so fresh and perfectly acidic. I ordered the penne and the waiter told us the mushrooms were harvested the day before and you could taste it. Great experience perfect for a romantic date out with your loved one.

Crisp, clean, lively and inviting atmosphere. Service was excellent!

The food and wine is just in a league of its own. Everything we ordered was super fresh and tasty. My favorite being the pasta that accompanied the veal parmigiana, melted like butter in my mouth and ending with the top shelf pudding desert.
Even though I barely had room for desert, I can't tell you how delicious that pudding was in words except by describing it as heavenly goodness on your tastebuds 👌🏻

I came here all by my lonesome. I had the calamari and a tequila cocktail and I was full! Had to cancel the salad I ordered. Food was delish!!

Really delicious food, wonderful service and lovely atmosphere.

Celebrating their 30th year this year, this place has certainly gone through its fair share of life much like most of us have.

I learned to appreciate this place more this second visit as the first was sometime 20 years ago. Who is to know what fate will bring and what future is in store.

Let me just say, thank you for the wonderful dining experience. The glass of white Napa wine was crisp and minerally. What an enjoyable experience that was for me, too. 🥂

The servers and wait staff were all very good at what they do. The folks in the reception were all very considerate.

A lot of people preferred dining outside with parasols over them. I am Asian and live in Asia so I prefer indoors when outside temperature is hot but I did not notice any air conditioning inside which is ok, too.

wow. we stopped by here after trying a few other places that were too busy to seat our party of four including a young tired kid at around 5pm on a thursday. the staff was super friendly. there was plenty of parking. drinks came. fresh bread with olive oil was provided. the food came out fast and it was so good. we had the steak a pork chop pizza the fish special and a few salads. we will be back for sure. no wonder this place is a favorite for locals.
