The park was so well run, and the yurt was the perfect spot for a girl's weekend. The facility was so clean, and our camp host was a ray of sunshine. This was such an organized park! I highly recommend bringing your friends who aren't so sure about camping and need to be eased in with a yurt experience!

It's already plenty popular, and for good reason. . But in case you're wondering about the deal with the showers, here's the pricing as of April 2024. Quarters only, but the camp hosts can help you out if you have only bills. And here's a view of campsite,#4. (Too narrow for the awning.)

Having this park practically in my back yard has been a godsend ever since I moved to Calistoga.Even after the fires, this is the best place to take a "Forest Bath". The hike to coyote peak offers a spectacular view of the valley from the top. A fun outdoor pool during the summer and campsites, picnic areas, clean showers and bathrooms... and they have yurts! ( if you book ahead ).The trails go back about a mile or so and there are redwoods, bay and live oak trees to marvel at during your exploration. Go for it!

Enjoyed the hike but have done better ones - take about 75 minutes to do the redwood trail

What a beautiful place to camp
Large campsite. Shaded. Bear cubbies.
The showers were coin operated and the campground master was so nice and came to our campsite to give us change.
Loved this place and will return
FYI The website doesn't let you know they have a hike bike camping rate for $7 a night so we had to pay 45$. Bummer.

Beautiful park, seated in wine country. Bring your bikes, to enjoy mountain biking in their beautiful trail or road biking along the scenic the many scenic roads. Hope next year their pool is open and we could see better restrooms/shower rooms at daytime/group camp area.

Fabulous place to camp! Nice size spaces for 21 foot trailer, with picnic tables under beautiful oak trees and hiking trails up in the redwoods. Close to many good wineries and restaurants.

Great clean park, well maintained grounds with lots to do nearby. Only concern are black bears that come around, but they are easily scared off with loud sounds. Just be sure to keep all food and scented toiletries in the bear box and properly close it.

It was during the Heat Wave weekend of July 21-23, 2023. The Heat Wave ended on the 23rd. Even with the intense heat during the day, it was really cool at night. The temp begins to drop at 6pm.

We stayed in a Yurt which was cozy. It had a queen size bed. I was comfortable, but if you don't like firm beds, then it's not for you. If you love camping, the Yurt and all the camp sites are great! There are great Camper Spots, and the creek is fun to play in for the kids.

We met a couple families there, and they all loved it! The Yurts have 4 Cots, so in addition to the bed it can fit quite a bit of people. It also has a table and benches in the room. It is spacious. I would say the Yurt could fit 6 to 8 people. For a family of 4 it was more than enough.

The facilities were in decent shape. They were kept clean and stocked. We will definitely be coming back.

Beautiful park that is open daily but the visitor center was closed when we were there. We were able to get a trail map at the entrance station. Beautiful to hike along the creek. There is an entrance fee if driving in or you can use a Poppy Pass if you have one. Their website states: “The Visitor Center and entrance station are open intermittently when staffing is available.” Lots of trails, picnic tables, camping and yurts. They also have a swimming pool.

Didn’t stay here, just used the trails. Still a few trees blocking some of the trails. Nice little park.

This state park is by far one of the most beautiful I’ve been to. It’s tucked away amongst the wineries and easy to miss if you’re not looking for a place to pull off. There’s a $10 day use fee and $40 over night fee is you wanted to camp. There are also clean restrooms & showers that are quarter operated. However, the showers are not working properly - priced at $1 for 3 minutes. After most of my quarters were eaten, I realized if you put in one quarter at a time, you get 25. Cents per minute. Have to wait until water stops first. Really the place is just amazing. The pool is nice, lifeguard is on duty. The hiking trails are very nice too. Lots of poison oak right now. There is also a very old cemetery I think from late 1700’s to early 1800’s. Dogs not allowed on trails and must always be on leash. Very family oriented place, quiet, location is great! Lots of shopping and food just a few minutes away. Lots of shade! Don’t bother bringing your pop ups!

This is a gently sloped easy hike trail. Trail runs by a creek that has some water flowing all year round, very pleasant to hike with the sound of water running in the creek. The train gets prettier and very calm as you hike deeper into the bay area ridge trail. I went 3miles into the trail and really like the later part of the hike. Has to turn back due to lack of time but would definitely come back to hike deep into the ridge trail soon.

Very cool experience staying at the Yurt. The camp staff are so nice and let us know about the Junior Ranger activities. Everyone was super friendly.

The night sky is just amazing. We were able to see the milky way.

As mentioned by others, careful on the Poison Ivy and oaks. It can get kind of cold at night, so pack accordingly.

Beautiful state park. Very affordable prices for the location. Plenty of trails to hike and it's very easy to get to central and downtown Napa from the park.

Great park with several trails in the redwoods along a creek.
The kids loved catching crawdads in the creek.
The day use area has bbq grills under the trees with hiking trails starting at the picnic area.
The public pool is open during the season (till Labor day) for pay.

The park is beautiful and in a great location. I spent a weekend at the campground and it was peaceful. I stayed at site 49. It was next to the creek and a trail.

It was during a weekend of rain but that didn't bother me. There were trees all around and you can hear the creek which was very relaxing.

The campsites were not next to each other, the bathrooms were very nice. They just remodeled the one near my campsite.

We stayed at Yurt site 2, which was close to the freeway. So we heard the traffic sounds. But also we have cell signal in
Yurt Site 2. We saw a bit instead our yurt during night. The bathroom was clean.

This place is a mixed pot-boiler. I have not been to any other state reserves which has an entire cemetery inside it. But do not get carried away by this, as this place is full of cool trails and boardwalks. Also, I liked the two picnic spots here, but maybe because the food was good. Coming back to the serious notes, the one of the few timely water geysers ["faithful"] is nearby to or inside in the forest, which I do not remember exactly now.
