Had dinner here last night for the first time. The dining area is very inviting and clean, and the service was exceptional. The food is amazing too!

Who loves hidden gems that the food is done well every time we go? This is your restaurant.. The chef really knows how to cook steaks well.

I had the steak and shrimp special. It was delicious. I really liked how the mashed potatoes were done, not over buttered. Definitely recommended by me. 😋

Best Mexican food in the area.

Kind of a relaxed local hangout. Service is good but slow, expect a wait. Not a good place for busy people. But if you want to sit a while and relax and have excellent food at reasonable prices it's perfect.

Great food at a great price. The four of us got different dishes, all were excellent. I had the sopes with Chile Verde (pictured). The burritos are very large. My wife said the flautas were very good, more meat than you get at other places.

Delicious steak and shrimp. Generous portions and pleasant service. Lovely portion of flan!

I've been coming here since 2007. I've seen the owners children grow up and I now bring my child in from time to time. The food is consistently good and the owners have always been nice.

My husband and I love this place. The cook and Elsa are just awesome people. Their food is just awesome. My husband's favorite dish is orange chicken and I love their artichokes enchiladas. This is a must try place.

I had a combo plate with 2 Chile Rellenos, and I asked for less rice and more beans-- and they did exactly that! Thank you! My husband ordered a fish dish and it was also wonderful. We will be back. We often stay at the nearby Old Marina Inn and this restaurant is an easy walk, don't need to repark the car.

Some of the best Al Pastor I have had. Tender, great flavor and not greasy. Home made corn tortillas are amazing. Salsa is perfect. Taco Tuesdays is hard to beat.

Working here from out of the area. I ordered the Carne De Asada plate and Ceviche Tostada ala carte. I was pleasantly surprised with the fresh quality, portions and value. It reminded me of my favorite Mexican food restaurant at home. The lady behind the counter was very nice. I would recommend this place to anyone. Really good food. Enough to make a guy who doesn't normally write reviews to make time to write one. Great job El Palmar!

Truly a gem for authentic Mexican food. It offers the best value without compromising on the quality. I had beef fajitas and my husband a chicken burrito... the quantity was huge and we had to pack more than half of our food. We had to have the flan for dessert, and it topped everything else! The best I've ever had! The portion size was huge, and every bite was a delight! We can't wait to go back! CAUTION!! At the end of the day, our credit card company called to say that our chip details had been stolen here and had to cancel the card! So pay in CASH ONLY for the great food!

Their carne asada is one of the best I’ve had and I’m from San Diego! So happy I tried this spot. Also, I tried the beef flautas plate which included the beans and rice and they were all very good. Tasted like my nana’s food:) will be back here to try more!

The food here is very delicious. The chef is amazing having your taste buds dancing in your mouth with every bite. From the moment your chips and salsa reach your table till your meal is completely done with pure delight. The owner has been there for a very long time and she is as nice as they come. If you want to relax and unwind to have a peaceful meal this is the place to be.

Best authentic Mexican food ever had.... we were driving and just found this place and believe me the taste was amazing. we ordered vegetarian burrito but never had such tasty burrito.

Good Mexican food but also has a variety. My kids are picky eaters. My daughter enjoyed their steak and my son loved their fish and chips. I'd eat here again.

More people should know about this place. Enchiladas were great! Slow service so know that going in.. but prices are right and food is great!

I've been back here a few times and every time I feel like I'm eating at a friend's house. Moreover a friend's Grandma's house in Mexico. I feel like I've been adopted by a wealthy Mexican family. I'm part of the family now. It feels like love. Every bite is Love. There is Love in this food. I love it.
