Hotel Abrego

This hotel is a beautiful place to stay. The rooms are updated and spacious. We had a cozy fireplace in ours and loved it. The breakfast was delicious. They had a good variety, so any picky person can at least find something to eat.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Great location. Close to Fisherman's wharf and Cannery Row.

We had a terrible AirBNB experience and found Hotel Abrego — It was truly our saving grace! The hotel front desk personnel was so sweet and accommodating and even offered us a free upgrade! Our room was so cozy, quiet and had everything we needed! We loved our stay and hope to be back soon!

Great location close to most attractions in Monterey and just north enough to beat traffic after a long weekend. Love the fireplace in the room, but the rest of the room layout was a little strange (a sink in the bathroom and in the room?). Overall, very pleasant stay and the late checkout is a huge plus!

This was one of the best hotel stays I've ever experienced. Great amenities. Fantastic breakfast. Our room was really nice. The staff was very hospitable. This hotel really made our trip an enjoyable one.

Came here for a weekend stay and loved it. Very quiet, clean, comfortable! Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We got a free upgrade and appreciated their help. Breakfast was pretty decent. Will return next time we visit!

I have stay In this hotel a few times and the rooms are clean. The staff is nice and they have free wine in the evening. I don’t drink. But the is cool.

Every staff member we encountered was so courteous and friendly. I loved the generous size of the rooms, ambiance in the lobby and convenience of the location. My son and I enjoyed the pool and hot tub ( a key reason for picking this place). Everything is well maintained. We also rented bikes conveniently located outside the hotel and biked along the coast. Lastly, I had horrible experience originally booking the hotel through a 3rd party site. (I will only book directly through a hotel moving forward!) Stephanie and her associate went out of their way to patiently listen to me and help me. When I come back to Monterey, I know where I'll stay!

Hotel Abrego offered a truly exceptional experience for my Monterey trip. After an awful Airbnb situation, I found Hotel Abrego. They were able to accommodate us quickly and even allowed us to check in a little early so we could settle and start enjoying our vacation. The staff at this hotel are all so pleasant and helpful. The location is prime for exploring the area but coming back to a quiet side of town to rest and recharge. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and having a complimentary glass of wine at night was a welcomed perk. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to relax and enjoy Monterey and the surrounding areas. I will definitely be back! I cannot thank them enough for saving my vacation.

This hotel is really something great, best service in all Coast! Ghassan is great, generous and kind, he really knows what customer service is! If you have a chance stay in this hotel, enjoy the jacuzzi ;).

Enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Abrego. Will definitely stay there again. Was welcomed in and parking was plentiful. Rooms were very nice with a fireplace that was a nice touch. We had the double beds which were comfortable. Provided breakfast in the morning from 7-10am. Very close to many eating options across the street. Check in and out was easy. We had arrived the weekend after a big storm took out the cities power. Thankfully, the hotel had full power and no issues!

It was much nicer that I was expecting for the price. The room was spacious, very clean, and very nice inside. The lobby has a little bar and they gave us each a free glass of wine at check in. Parking was free. The pool was heated. There was also a continental breakfast included and it was much better than most free breakfasts. It is also very close to fisherman's wharf.
This would be my preferred hotel to stay at in the future and the one I recommend for others to stay at in Monterey.

Ernie and Meli. Just fantastic people!!! They take turns running the bar and Meli works front desk. This place has the Best Margarita in town. A must try.

Conveniently located, welcoming staff, clean and good sized room, free parking and breakfast was really decent as well. Kids enjoyed the pool. The room rates are also very fair for the area and quality of service.

Great hotel with spacious rooms and a little patio. Only complaint is bathroom is a bit dark and you need an Uber to get anywhere. But it’s overall a great hotel.

My family and I stayed during Spring Break ans it was really nice and well kept. The hot tub was nice and the wine that comes with your stay! I forgot my medication on check out and they were very accommodating in securing it until we could get it.

This was a really nice stay on our long road trip. The staff, amenities, food, and drinks are all great. Nice hot tub and pool area as well, and quiet neighbors. Breakfast was one of the best I have had, as well as the dinner menu being quality. Location is very central to everything, for the price it cannot be beat!

Loved our stay!!

Rooms were reasonably sized, nothing extraordinary about them, but nothing to complain about either. The fireplace was nice (dad and I enjoyed drinks by its side), linen was clean, beds were comfortable enough.

Complimentary wine was a nice touch, the breakfast was better than what you get at other hotels of similar price (bagels were great, breakfast burrito was decent). As far as the kitchen goes, their Seasoned Fries were tasty, Fish and Chips was decent.

Service was surprisingly good. They have room service available -- apart from food, they delivered ice to our room. They even gave us free ice cream one night 🙂 Overall, the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Did not try their Jacuzzi. Saw some people enjoying the hot water but the weather overall was too cold for us to dare a dip.

Would definitely stay here again when we visit Monterey. Great hotel at a reasonable price at a perfect and quiet location that is hardly 8 minutes walk away from Monterey downtown.

Wonderful place to stay in Monterey just to walk away from many activities. Front desk did a great job checking us in the morning breakfast was awesome and the happy hour was very pleasant.

Hotel Abrego is my favorite hotel to stay when coming to Monterey. It’s our 5th time staying here and it is amazing every time. The costumer service is 10/10. They are nice, welcoming and accommodating with no issue. Once I booked at a different hotel because they had jetted tub in the room and when I arrived they were so rude so I canceled my stay and came to Abrego and will always stay here anytime I’m in the area.
The premier king room is our favorite it has a fireplace that will turn on and off throughout the night. It’s so relaxing. The bed is a firm and comfortable. It has sliding door with small patio to sit out or enjoy fresh air. It’s got refrigerator and you can request a microwave with no problem, they put it in your before arrival.
The breakfast is good. It’s not like a buffet breakfast where you can make waffles but they do have a good selection. Like small breakfast burritos, potatoes, pastries, cereals, yogurt, juice etc. They got heated pool and hot tub. Overall it is a wonderful place to stay.

Don't let the price or 3 star rating fool you. I based my decision to stay on all the reviews, and glad that I did. Upon arrival, the staff were courteous and friendly. And the few other times I interacted with the staff, they were just as courteous, friendly and helpful. The room was fine. For the location within Monterey, offering a fitness center (small and adequate for cardio), pool and spa, breakfast included in the facility fee (which is mentioned upfront, not when checking out like other hotels where I've stayed), and free parking, the hotel is a great find and great value. Thank you!!
