We had an amazing late dinner at Milanese. The drinks were delicious. Rudy was awesome we sat at the bar. This was our first time in and we will be back. Thank you Rudy and Carlos for a wonderful meal. The food is impressively good and the portion size left us full and happy. See you soon!

After wanting to check out Il Milanese since its opening, we finally made it for Restaurant Week 2024. The place is beautiful and inviting, but the highlight was the service. We were seated for our reservation right away, our food came super fast and they checked in on us regularly. The food is great, particularly their pasta and desserts. I recommend the gnocchi asiago — amazing, super soft and cheesy. Both desserts we tried were fantastic: the tiramisu and the panna cotta. I would stick to their pasta — we tried the veal dish and it was just okay. Overall, I would definitely go back.

Great food. Great service. We didn’t like the table they had for us so we waited for another one. Our fault yet they comped us a Prosecco for the wait! Veal ossobuco and lemon pasta were amazing. Polenta appetizer was super creative and delicious. We had a great time.

My taste buds experienced the best Italian cooking in the city of Chicago so close to my grandparents and great grandparents. I feel bad. I don’t remember our servers name but he was outstanding. The owner made us feel at home. The lemon cello shots were delicious. Thank you for an amazing Mother’s Day.

Very good Italian dinner! We made a reservation for Wednesday night and it was very good! We got the fava beans, arugula salad as an appetizers and then my wife got the gluten free pasta and I got a risotto. All of it was very good and I would highly recommend!

Loved this authentic northern Italian restaurant. Save room for the desserts. I know it's hard since the pasta dishes are all so good and many other courses appeal. But the desserts were worthy too!

This place is a true gem for those seeking an authentic taste of Italy. Being from the north of Italy myself, I was blown away by the amazing food. It’s like homemade dishes straight from Italy.

The service? Outstanding! They treat you like family, just like we do up north. Plus, the atmosphere of the place creates a cozy and relaxed dining experience.

It’s my go-to place whenever I’m feeling homesick!

Superb attentive service lovely environment lovely ambiance. Started with some delicious focaccia. We had the special crab cakes. Very fresh... Excellently seasoned and coated w a red pepper cream sauce. The lemon pepper pasta dish was well prepared and homemade. Overall a very nice experience and we left the restaurant quite satisfied and quite full....not inexpensive. But what restaurant is these days

My husband and I had an impromptu dinner last weekend here. We didn’t have a reservation for a Friday night and asked if we could sit outside. The host told us around 20 min so we sat at the bar for drinks. The wait ended up much longer than that and although we were content with our drinks at the bar (I wasn’t even hangry yet), the owner or manager came by with a complimentary zucchini flat bread and his apologies. It was very thoughtful. The bread was delicious.

Once we did get seated we ordered pasta—I ordered a lemon Parmesan taglioni and it was so light and flavorful—so delicious! My husband loved his ragu pasta as well. The space is beautiful! A great place to dine in the neighborhood.

I picked up a to-go order last week, not only was the food authentic and delicious, but the hostess Chloe was so welcoming and beautiful. She helped me bring the food out to my car and was very knowledgeable about the menu. I have some allergies and she assured me the food was safe for me to eat. I will be dining in next time to try their espresso martinis and to have another chat with the friendliest hostess ever!

We had dinner with our kids at Il Milanese tonight after waiting patiently for it to open since the signs went up a couple months back. It was lovely and they have an excellent kid’s menu. My husband is Italian and we have traveled extensively in Italy and found the food to be reminiscent of some of the wonderful meals we had there. Dessert was also excellent. Such a nice addition to our neighborhood!

The food is some of the best Italian cuisine in the city. Amazing service by the owner Carlo and our waiter Arturo. Rudy makes the best drinks and recommendations. The fiori di zucca were a stand out!

So happy this new Italian restaurant opened in our neighborhood! It already shows signs of becoming a culinary destination in Northcenter/Lincoln Square. Everything was perfect and so authentic and delicious. We met the 3 owners Carlo, Massimo and Riccardo who take so much pride in their craft and in their hospitality. Going back again tonight with more friends, and I just can’t wait to have their food again!!!

What a gem in Lincoln Square!! This is truly authentic!!
I always loved going to Due Lire Vino & Cucina but now I can definitely bounce between the two.
My friend and I seat at bar and we started with their homemade focaccia which was incredibly soft & tasty. Then we had few apps like the zucchini blossoms ( absolutely a must try) and then the fave fresche con Pecorino. What a treat the whole experience was. Most delicious wine was offered ( we had a superb Aglianico).

Bartender was attentive & professional.
Owner came and introduced himself , an incredibly nice & friendly gentleman who was pretty much everywhere! We felt so well taking care and can’t wait to go back.

I have now been to Milanese 4 times and it's about time I wrote a review. We love it! We have sat at the bar, inside and outside. Every time we have had great service and wonderful food. We have our favorites - the carpaccio, the zucchini blossoms, the tortelloni with the amoretto cookies, the wild boar with homemade pappardelle and the desserts! Get the panna cotta al pistachio! Everything we have had has been delicious! So glad it is in the neighborhood!

Delicious food, amazing staff that is attentive and notices the little details. The pasta is incredible, the focaccia, the main entrees, the specials too! You can’t miss on this menu, I’ve slowly been trying it all. I recommend dining in for the best experience.

You can have a modest or a fancy high end dinner, the menu and pricing offers a lot of flexibility, which is rare for most restaurants. Regardless, there is care and flavor put into everything on the menu.

Lincoln Square is lucky to have this place, if you’ve wanted to go but you’ve been putting it off, Go! If you haven’t wanted to go, stop it, and GO!

The food was fresh and flavorful. Our server was super friendly and informative. Prices were good for the quality you got. We had wine and an extra dish, so that upped the spend per person.

Fantastic traditional Italian fare in a cozy storefront that feels immediately inviting. Great cocktails, good wine list and decent beer selection. Really appreciated all of the gluten free options, both in appetizers and for entree substitutions. Most pasta can be subbed for GF which is rare. Had the seafood special pasta which was amazing. Awesome options for every course! Will definitely be back, highly recommended for a nice night out in Ravenswood!
