Porottas South Indian Cuisine

The food is great. Tried thalapakatti mutton briyani it was good. But dosa and chutneys are not up to the mark. Pomfret fish is OK mutton ghost slightly sweeter may be ee requeated for medium spice. Porotta is good.

They are my favorite Indian restaurant in the Sacramento area. I've been to India five times and cook chettinad cuisine at home, so I'm willing to argue my position. 🙃 Great combination of presentation and flavor, making is worthwhile for a special occasion, but laid back atmosphere for just a general desire to go to a restaurant. My favorite is the mutton soup. For newbies, get a masala dosa. If they post they are doing a thali on the weekend, you might even meet me 😆 it is my single most favorite thing in this world.

Really lovely people work there. We go to alot of indian restaurants and they are one of the restaurants those got good staff. They are friendly, attentive, and always willing to assist. We have visited a couple times. The meal options are excellent. Both north and south Indian alternatives are available. Every time we visit, we are satisfied with the staff's service and food. This time, we had masala dosa and lacha pratha, both of which were superbly prepared. There, I had a wonderful experience.

Staff was quick in welcoming and making us comfortable in providing us table. Food came fast and was good too. Buttermilk was liked by everyone.

What 😋 yummy Thali! And it's unlimited quantity . The servers are so kind and courteous, they check on you so many times.
My husband and I love the thali, We get a very good amount of food and each dish is so flavorful, we can repeat the lentils are the items that we loved. They also give a drink with this and desert.

We tried their onam Thali and it was out of the world! Even better than the Bay Area Sadia thalis I have had.

Courtesy and customer service are fantastic as well.

Delicious, flavorful and generous portion! We really enjoyed our meal which included the Meduvada appetizer (fried dal “donuts”), Hyderabad chicken biryani, ghee porotta and a spicy chicken curry dish (I can’t recall the name but it was so flavorful!). Definitely not watered down flavors. We have enough leftovers for another meal for two people. We will be back!

Overall it was a nice experience. I am oosting after my second visit to thr restaurant. On both visits I tried their south indian menu. Fresh Orange Juice was really refreshing. Rava Masala dosa taste good but the authentic taste is missing from their Dosas. Sambar was ok. Must try their Pan after the food.

Kids loved the robot serving the food and kept asking for more food so that they can see robot one more time.

Really wonderful food. We are a couple who tries different restaurants everytime!! We have tried all kinds of indian restaurants!!! So when I tell you their food was amazing!! It was really amazing and we come back everytime!! You get authentic kerala food also here! Tastes yummy! Praveen and sudharakar are wonderful and their hospitality and customer service is just amazing… Always come back and receive the best service and food everytime!!

This is a small South Indian (Tamilian) vegetarian restaurant that has replaced an earlier Chaat restaurant. The restaurant seats around 20 ppl maximum and there is no outdoor seating or a large enough wait area here. No points for guessing that they do not take reservations too.
All these factors aside, this restaurant is very good. I and my team at HPE visit this place every Friday for a sumptuous unlimited Thali. There are about 3 ppl serving you and they serve you whole-heartedly.
Would definitely recommend this place for the best Parottas and their unlimited thali. I have tried their Veg Biryani as well - The quantity is huge and they give you Pappad and Raita on request.

Best parotta and mutton biryani I ever had after coming to the states. Too good food. Served hot and fresh. Love the customer service. I recommend you should ‘atleast’ go once.

Delicious mix of flavors, nutritious vegetarian curries, all-you-can-eat lunch thali that changes daily, and an extensive dinner menu of authentic South Indian specialities.

Excellent food and service! We had small some critique of the tandoori seasoning and the staff immediately addressed this issue and it now tastes even more delicious. I highly recommend the spicy saag paneer, it boasts excellent flavor served with a side of fresh rice.

One of the best dosas in all the greater Sacramento area! The dosas are so crispy and delicious and the chutneys are delicious, recommend getting the vegetable kurma spicy! Their food also doesn’t feel heavy or greasy like other Indian places in this area! Highly recommend to anyone craving good South Indian food!
