Star Lounge

A close friend recommended this restaurant, and it did not disappoint. I loved the ambiance and the history of the building. We had questions about a few items on the menu, and the chef came out to speak to us, which is rare. I was so excited as you could tell the chef truly loves cooking, as do I. The drinks were subperb, and the food was amazing. This restaurant and bar is like no other in Sacramento. I definitely recommend it, especially if you're celebrating a special occasion.

We dined at the Star Lounge last week as part of our 20th anniversary celebration. Colin was our awesome server! He made the experience all the more special.
The Hubby had the old-fashioned and I, the sangria, with the tuna poke to share for starters. All were very good. For dinner, we had the prix fixe veggie menu, which we tweaked to add some scallops. It was all delicious.
The place was buzzing with guests. The well chosen decor makes the Star Lounge all the more cozy. One didn't want to just leave. We had a wonderful evening, and we will be back!

Historic Star Lounge is located in the Hyatt House in Midtown and I'm so glad I stumbled upon this gem. I had a date night here and from the moment we walked in the hostess checked us in and sat us right away. I would recommend making reservations as I was told it can get crowded later on.

The bar/lounge area was very welcoming and mellow. Antique chandeliers hung around, gold mirrors surrounded the interior walls and dim lamps occupied the tables. Also they have an open window that overlooks Sutter's Fort.

We were greeted by one of the friendliest servers who went through the menu with us. He never rushed us and checked up quite frequently to make sure everything was okay. We ended up getting the two person dinner special, which included: gazpacho, roasted chicken and a dessert (I think it was a deconstructed lemon meringue sorbet) Everything was delicious! From the portions to flavor, the chefs really deserve recognition for the menu!

After we were done they asked if we wanted to take home the chicken carcass to make to make broth when we get home. They didn't have to go out out of their way to package that for us but we were both very appreciative and thanked them for the wonderful dinner.

I will definitely be back and I highly recommend coming here for the food, drinks and atmosphere!

Alexa was our bartender and I can amazing, we had the best experience in Sacramento for a slanky bar. The drinks and cocktails are absolutely some of the best. Very well thought out menu. Fresh, special, and different.

The food is definitely a hit and miss. Small but a punch of flavor and well-balance. I rarely leave reviews, and I'm back the second time.

This little bar inside the hotel was a recommendation from another bartender in Napa. The place was so cute walking in, and walking up the stairs to the lounge had a great feel! We found a little corner table and we were approached by a server right away. He was friendly and funny and made fantastic drink recommendations. The cocktails were fantastic, the crowd was lively, and the ambiance was perfect for a pre-dinner drink! I would definitely recommend this place.

This will become Sacramentos hot spot very soon. I went on Valentine’s Day with a few single friends. We had a blast. The food was amazing. I heard the Chef is coming from The Sawyer! I ordered a bottle of great red for under $50. The group ordered a few cocktails, the reviews were a little mixed on the cocktails.

I celebrated my birthday here with 15 guests and it was truly a special experience. We were graciously moved to a private room, adding intimacy to the occasion. Colin, our server, was simply amazing - attentive, personable, and went above and beyond to ensure our night was perfect, keeping our drinks filled and everyone happy. The personal greetings from the general manager and executive chef added a delightful touch to the impeccable service. Highly recommend for any special occasion.

Star Lounge has become my go-to spot for happy hour and girls night this year. The valet is so convenient and easy. It’s lovely to watch the sun go down on Sutter’s Fort from this incredible historically piece of Sacramento. Delicious appetizers, entrees and creative drinks.

Sunday, 1/28/2024 - Went to try Historic Star Lounge (inside the Hyatt Hotel, 3rd floor). Address is 2719 K St, Sacramento, CA 95816 (Midtown). Upon arrival...

Pros
1) it's street parking. I didn't see that they had their own parking. But they do have valet parking. I parked across the street at the park. It's free parking Sunday.
2) I walked into The Hyatt abs the lady at the front desk let me know the restaurant was in the 3rd floor.
3) they had a nice warm fire going in the fireplace. There was a couch next to it to relax.
4) took the elevator to the 3rd floor and arrive to the restaurant.
5) the hostess helped us as soon as we walked in. Very nice hostess. The restaurant is on the dark side. Very intimate and very quiet.
6) I saw they had a bar. They also put cute, real candles in the table.
7) restaurant clean. Plates, bowls, cups, utensils were all clean. Water tasted good. No funky or metal taste.
8) foods were great! Mix Green salad is $16. Dressing was good and salad perfect. 16oz Marv's cut Ribeye was $79 with garlic mash potato. Cooked perfectly and tasted great. Kids chicken and fries, and kids pizza was good. Kids loved it. Dessert was good. They provided a bday dessert on the house. So sweet!!!
9) service was excellent!! We had like 3 people keep checking on us to make sure we were serviced and happy.

Conclusion
I really liked this restaurant. It was a little dark inside though. So I used my cell phone light to read the menu and take food photos. 😆 But besides this, I liked this restatement, service great, restaurant clean, foods were excellent. I'd go here again.

This place had it all. Good food, good vibe, and good service. Short rib tacos were smackin and the charcuterie board was robust. The bartenders were on point and the staff was all super chill and friendly. Quality spot for a date night or a happy hour strike.

Incredible intimate dining experience. The last prohibition drink was one of the best drinks I've had in Sacramento! The truffle fries and pasta were both so delicious.

So great to see the Eastern Star Temple living on in this delightful restaurant and hotel. The Star Lounge is a cut above in outstanding food and service.

The tuna poke and potato croquettes appetizers were excellent. My partner enjoyed her mezcal drink (smoking monk). For dessert we had the lemon meringue, which was great.

Just having cocktails at this place at night!
Great atmosphere and service

The Star Lounge is not to be missed. Ryan greeted us offered us seating at a newly added table for our group of six. Since we were the first to use the new table, we were treated to champagne to christen it. Frank, our food server, joined the experience with outstanding service. The food and drinks were 5 star. Put the Star Lounge on your must visit list for a great night out!

Classic charm

Literally, some of the best food I have ever had is from here. Their wine is absolutely amazing as well as the atmosphere and the service.

Delicious drinks, food was a bit pricey but also very good. Ambience was the best, very cool vibe!

This venue is gonna take off. Gorgeous interiors at night- from another era; and picturesque during the day. Impressive cocktails.

The atmosphere was spectacular. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Apparently, they have lots of reservations, so calling ahead is a good idea. Food was very, very good. Drinks were also classy and very good. I would return.
