Great Smiles Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics - Carlsbad

My two sons have been going to Great Smiles Dentistry with Dr. Crystal for years (13 now!). We have always loved the practice and the staff, and each and every visit has always been perfect. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable and have always made my kids feel at ease during every visit. I always know they are in good hands. My oldest son has braces through the orthodontics department. Our experience with Dr. Hydo and Dr. Miller has also been wonderful and having a dentist and orthodontist under the same practice has been so ideal. They have been able to consult with each other over my son's dental issues throughout the process of braces. I've recommended the practice to all my friends and fellow parents looking for a good dentist and orthodontist.

This office and its staff are great. We had our first appointment for our daughter yesterday and the entire staff was welcoming and adjusted quickly to my daughter's reactions. Initially she became scared and hid when they did the temperature check, but Dr. K came out and spoke with me and my daughter and gave her the space she needed to feel safe and comfortable. Dr. K was patient and thorough in her exam and quick when she could be with the measurement readings. Dr. K spent time explaining the specifics of what she was seeing without using medical jargon. My daughter always felt safe in the exam chair and was empowered by the staff and Dr. K to set boundaries and be a part of the process.

The exam room has a screen in the ceiling playing Nick Jr, KPBS, or Disney - I couldn't identify what show it was on the screen, though my daughter knew what it was and was able to have some positive distraction.

When we first walked into the office, our child cried and cried but the entire staff including the dentist, Dr. Bre, all came over and calmed him down and immediately cheered him up. Dr Bre provided excellent dental care to our child, she answered all of his questions in a way he can easily understand. The staff was very friendly and is easy to work with. We feel very fortunate to have her as our child’s dentist. Highly recommended.

The Great Smiles Team did an excellent job with my almost 2 year old! This was her first visit to the dentist so I was a bit nervous. I had a few concerns regarding my daughters teeth but was quickly reassured and educated on what I was noticing. I appreciate both Dr. Crystal and her assistant Nicole's bedside manner. They were wonderful with my daughter! As a first time mom it was extremely important that the visit was fun for my daughter and I understood what to expect. They did a great job meeting those expectations. Thank you for sharing in one of her milestones and making it so much fun. The photo of her at the end just made my day! :)

We have been seeing Dr. Crystal for over a decade, and we love her! She's very patient and thorough. The entire office helps to make my kids feel welcome and relaxed through their cleanings, and I'm happy to report thus far we haven't had a single cavity!

Dr. Miller is truly the most caring, dedicated and wonderful orthodontist we've ever had contact with. She is friendly, helpful and always very clear with you on what you child may or may not need. The office is clean, the staff outgoing and we are always happy to return. You won't be sorry when you choose her for your treatment!

Dr. Crystal is absolutely the best dentist. Unfortunately my kids have had many cavities filled and she makes the process very easy for them. She is gentle and kind and works quickly. She communicates the entire time to assure them what she's doing. I highly recommend her if you are looking for a pediatric dentistry!

My kids have been receiving dental services at Great Smiles for more than 12 years and orthodontic services for 2 years. Through the years, they have received exemplary care from Dr. Crystal, Dr. Miller, and Sonia. The office staff is always pleasant and accommodates our crazy family schedule. I love the personal touch and connection.

Every person in this office is a joy to meet and work with. They all truly love kids, and are so helpful with making them feel at ease to get their teeth cleaned and checked. They have a treasure box and stickers for after the appointment, and screens in the ceiling with earphones, so my kids can enjoy their favorite cartoons while they have their teeth cleaned. The doctors and hygienists are always so friendly and welcoming, they feel like family. I highly recommend this office, and the Solana beach office.

This team is amazing. Our daughter was afraid of the dentist, and they make it so easy for her. Dr. Crystal explains everything very clearly and fairly, going over all options. Great team. Friendly, communicative, and wonderful level of care

Again, the safest, most professional dental office I have ever been to. My first child started there 28 years ago. Now on my last child, and I can honestly say I've received 28 years of the best care imaginable.

Dr. Crystal and the Great Smiles staff is the best!! They are amazing with kids! I feel like my daughter is getting the best of care in their hands. I strongly recommend this office for your child’s dental care!

Everyone in this office intentionally creates a caring experience! The dentist & hygienist explain what will happen in the dental chair with a calm, sensitive approach as they work. Kid, teen friendly!!!!

My kids almost enjoy going to the ortho/dentist here! It's always a fun, pleasant experience. They go out of their way to keep kids comfortable and I always feel like I'm getting excellent service. Would highly recommend them anytime!!

Having four kids, we have a lot of ortho appointments under our belt! Dr. Hydo and Dr. Miller are masters at their craft and go out of their way to make our kids feel comfortable and secure. We wouldn't think of going anywhere else!

The staff is friendly and helpful and the orthodontists are great at their job and great with my children! I am so grateful we chose them for our orthodontic work.

Everyone is caring, contientous & efficient! We LOVE ❤ our visits here. So nice to look forward to going to something that ordinarily would not be pleasant. The staff & Doctors make it amazing 💫!

Great! Our 12 year old daughter needed a longer treatment with numbing.
So helpful for our daughter to be spoken to directly with great care!

Caring, accommodating. Carlsbad location has private room with glass outside walls. Great for us claustrophobes.
