Great traditional Cantonese food, solid portions, and a price that made me think I was back in the early 2000s. So. Cheap. The value for (the legitimately great) quality is unbeatable.

Their fry chef is amazing, everything that was fried was perfectly done -- crisp on the outside while still tender and juicy inside.

Note that their dishes are split across multiple menus -- for example the whole fried fish is only on their 4 dishes for $43 menu, and not on the full menu.

Always such a pleasure to dine here. I've been coming since I was 7 and the food quality is always incredible. The prices are very affordable for a family and they have all sorts of options to satisfy any palette, whether you're looking for soup, spicy, or traditional Chinese cuisine.

I would recommend doing their combo meals of 3 or 4 items on the menu which comes with soup. While prices have increased due to COVID, the quality of food remains the same.

Some of my favorite dishes are their Salt & Pepper Spareribs, Snow Pea Leaves, and Rock Cod w/Garlic Clay Pot.

Note that parking can be hard as there is no designated parking lot, so one will need to park along El Camino Real, which can be difficult around prime dining times.

My partner and I initially wanted to eat a sushi place across the street but it was packed. I saw this restaurant on google, it was highly rated, and the food looked good. We walked up and the restaurant was packed with families big and small on a Thursday night—a good sign that the food is goooood. The menu offered the 3 entrees with soup for $30 or 4 entrees with soup for $43. We opted for the 4 entrees since the options were better and we can take leftovers home. The food came out fast, piping hot, and very delicious. Cantonese food is so freaking good. I recommend the rock cod, and beef and broccoli!! I will come here again to try other dishes. It’s affordable and delicious, big portions and a lot of people do take out.

Update— A few months have passed and I was craving canto food again. Came on a Thursday night. Packed and the place was understaffed with one man doing the role of 3 ppl. So many door dashers were waiting for their orders as well. We opted for the 4 choice for $43 combo again. We got the rock cod filet salt and pepper, clams with black bean sauce, filet beef with black bean sauce, and sticky rice with Chinese sausage. Every single dish was so good! We always like the food here and feel so satisfied with it. We had plenty to take home. They are understaffed, so be patient, be kind. The food is worth it!

Great food at great price. Place itself is modest but if you just want good food without paying an arm and a leg try here. Pan fried noodle and oyster in black bean sauce were excellent

These people are ALWAYS friendly and professional. When they recognize a repeat customer in person or over the phone, they are polite, and they get your order RIGHT!

The best salt and pepper shrimps, calamari, smelt fish, and their cod fish dishes are delicious also, in San Mateo. A hidden gem. Friendly workers. Fast service and Opens all the time.

Recommend lotus chicken, salt and pepper squid and silky tofu. Very well done! Exceptional smoky fragrance in all the dishes.

They give us really delicious soup and Asian dessert (red bean soup, yam sago etc) with our dinner.

Also, theres sort of a secret menu on the wall, with dish names written in Chinese; these dishes aren't on the main menu and we ordered Duck with Yam 🍠

The service is always great and we leave feeling satisfied and cozy.

The ambiance is pretty basic but the Chinese food was really good. I liked everything we ordered. The prices are decent. We parked on El Camino.

Food is so good here. Don't be deceit by the look, it's definitely worth a try. We have been here for over 10 years and the taste of the dishes have always been good. We also like to order for pick up, especially for parties. The party trays are reasonably priced.

This is the place to go if you’re craving Asian food! They have a wide variety of dishes and serve you tasty complimentary tea. I ate here during lunch time on a Monday.

My in-laws are from China and this is one of the best restaurants we've found that always has an incredible and authentic menu that makes them feel at home. Granted I'm not Chinese, but it's also my favorite restaurant because it's so homey, the staff is always kind, and the food is always great. It's never over-salted, which is something I find is a common problem at other places. Generally, our whole family loves this restaurant. It's the one place everyone always looks forward to going to.

The dishes arrived piping hot and delicious. We appreciated the efficiency and kindness of the waitstaff. We're out of town visitors and visited this restaurant three times in one week. It is that good! What a neighborhood treasure.

Wonderful food.

This is a hole in the wall place. Been coming here for years. It's under new ownership but the food is still great. Must have kept the cooks. LOL

They offer several authentic dishes plus package deals. 3 or 4 dish packages. We opted for the 4 dish for under $40.

The dishes were generous portions and very delicious. You won't be disappointed.

This place has incredible value for the money. I wod recommend their set menu, it was super filling and each dish was well made and delicious. The food is not greasy and portions are large. Service is alright too. I would go again

great value. 4 dishes for $42 and comes with soup!! rock fish clay pot. salt and pepper spareribs. beef w bean curd ( turned out different than i expected. was like beef with soft tofu and soupy. but still tasty)

Go-to home style Cantonese Chinese restaurant. Ordered takeout over the years and food is always fresh and good, and not as salty/oily. Price point is unreal (in a good way) for their quality.

The food was very fresh and not oily. The fish was fresh you could cut the calamari with a fork. 11 of us ordered 11 different dishes with fried rice, seafood chow mein and pot stickers. Staff was very attentive and fit everything on our table. The tea kettles and waters were kept full.

Great taste with very affordable price! We 4 people meal totally spent less than $100.
